I would say that "mainstream" fans swallow what is put out by Blocks PR team and believe him to be the best driver in the world. More serious rally fans know better. Blocks marketing is a double edge sword: he brings rally content to the mainstream (which is a good thing I would say), but the way it's delivered does seem to alienate him to some rally fans (which of course is a bad thing). To anyone who isn't keen on Block then I would urge you to watch this: https://youtu.be/Vg2c7Pp7H0Q It's a good interview and may sway your opinion on Block. By his own admission he isn't the best rally driver in the world, but he has managed to get himself into a position where he gets paid to drive with the best drivers in the world. Although you may not agree with the hype surrounding him, he has bought rally (and rallycross) to a bigger audience and for that I applaud him. As for DiRT 3, I thought it had significantly less dude-bro-ness than DiRT 2. I would agree that gymkhana was overly used into the career mode, but I'm not sure it's fair to blame that on Block.

real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship

First look at the 2017 specification Fiesta: http://www.m-sport.co.uk/m-sport-news/fiesta-rs-wrc/the-next-stage-2017-fiesta-takes-to-the-gravel I'm still torn between the Polo and the Fiesta as the best looking car of the current generation, so I'm keen to see what the car will look like with the 2017 panels on it. -

Don't see the point of putting rally drivers' names ahead of game titles, myself. Didn't you know that a drivers names in front of the game title always guarantees a quality product? Like Sebastien Loeb Rally. :wink:

He was McRae's protege, so arguably the most deserving driver to step into his shoes!

Was absolutely glued to the app over the weekend! Fantastic result for Meeke and Breen. Felt bad for Tanak as he seems to have really upped his pace. It's great to finally see someone in a factory seat proving that the Fiesta is a capable car. Great clip @gheeD! What's it like for spectators? Are you restricted as to where you can stand, or can you go wherever you want? -

Desperately wanted to go for years but never made it there! Enjoy: and don't forget to take a camera. :wink: -
I only started playing the online gymkhana modes purely to get a trophy. I think I ended up spending as much time playing those modes as I did racing: at least with those modes you were supposed to crash into each other! :smiley:

I wouldn't go that far, but it definitely provided some enjoyment for a short period of times. Which would be a great thing if instead of the boring loading screen, we had an option (keyword, OPTION) to do the Gymkhana thing on some abandoned factory or what not. Kind of like the practice games that FIFA has for their pre-match loading screens. A big wish list item was rally school. Personally would love to see Dirtfish represented since they have such a unique and interesting looking playground there. Could be a cool hybrid tarmac gravel area to just skid around for practice and car control. Yeah, I'd love to see a rally school get added and the Dirtfish facility would be absolutely ideal. A short rally stage for shakedown and a nice wide open space for playing with the cars. As long as it's treated as an extra and not shoehorned into the career, then I'd say it would be a winner. Block didn't do any shouting in DiRT 3, did he? Or am I forgetting something? The only annoying voice in DiRT 3 was Christian bloody Stephenson telling me how rad I am and how I need to upload to yeeeeeew tube every two minutes. **** that guy.

These are just opinions, and trying to use some common sense. Well I certainly can't fault your logic. The "late" addition of VR support did make me think that they might still be developing DiRT Rally, but I wonder if DR is being used as a platform to shakedown VR support for it's inclusion in a future title (or titles).

@Rallycameraman / @KickUp 2017 WRC DEBUT CONFIRMED.

The storm might be closer than you think. Anyway, today after nearly 2 months, I make my return to DiRT Now this is a proper bit of gossip. Fingers crossed for some big news soon! placing bets on a Nov/Dec announcement for sometime later next year (trying to be realistic with release) You think the announcement is definitely going to be for a new title rather than something additional for DiRT Rally?

Oh! I'm not on Twitter that much, so I must have missed the tweet. Australian DLC was my first thought as soon as I saw the picture and your content!

I just saw this. Am I reading too much into this, or is this a massive hint? What do you know @Darhour? WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!

I'd personally love to see more rallycross tracks. 3 tracks just isn't enough for a proper tournament, or for a proper evening of online multiplayer. Sure, more rally stages would be awesome, but there already is a good variation of different stages, mroe so with all the different cars that can be driven on them, which means you get to attack the stage in an entirely different way. Yeah, this pretty much sums up my viewpoint as well. I would really like to see more rally content but, as it stands, I think the rallycross would benefit more from additional tracks. The "short" versions are OK, but I much prefer the "full" version of each track, so I tend to end up replaying the World Championship a lot. More "full" tracks would be brilliant, especially if CM were to pick a couple more significant tracks from the World Championship calendar. (But if they do suddenly announce more rally content, I certainly won't be unhappy at the news!)

Just going to leave this here... I hope this is a prelude to tomorrow's Roadbook @ChristinaMc A big announcement would be pretty awesome, as the addition of VR wasn't the big story I was hoping for! There won't be any big announcements tomorrow! That's not to say there won't ever be any big announcements, however... A tease of news to come, but with no time frame specified: it's like @justbiglee never left @ChristinaMc! :smiley: Time is all relative, anyway. ;) "Time is relative". Einstein said that. Einstein furthered developed Newtonian theories of gravity. Isaac Newton proved the theory of gravity. This can only mean one thing: THE RETURN OF COLIN MCRAE 2.0 LOW GRAVITY MODE.

Just going to leave this here... I have two answers: Adding a minor feature: - Tweak the menu options for selecting hillclimb in Career mode, so we can use the 208 T16. Adding a major feature: - More genuine rallycross tracks.

Yeah, I know what you meant! :smile: I played a lot of Autosport to fill the pre-DiRT Rally void! I recently got my PS3 hooked back up again, so I should really revisit a few games: all my (limited) gaming time is dedicated to DR at the moment though! With the success of DR over AS, one would imagine the DiRT series would take priority at CM? Having said that, if a new GRiD game was in the works, I assume it would have been commissioned well before the completion of DR. I would like to see the GRiD series return in some form... but after we've got more DiRT! Didn't DR come out a year or two after AS? DiRT 2 is still my favorite of the series. :) Yeah, it did. But we know that new games are in development for many months, sometimes ever years, before release, so if a next generation GRiD game is imminent, then the decision to green light it would, theoretically, have come before the full release of DiRT Rally. We should have done some more digging and investigating when we were there! I was too distracted by DiRT to investigate anything else! Hopefully we'll get a call when they have something else ready for viewing. ;)

I like your modesty there @RallyDriven.
