2018: was the opening round of the season!
-
Prodrive actually ran a semi-automatic gearbox on the Legacy, but the system was never used on stage as it was unreliable and barely faster than a manual shift. As it was classed as a automatic gearbox though, it permitted them to run a lighter flywheel, so was kept on the car. All the Subaru gearboxes were H-pattern, they initially tried to automate them with pneumatics (on the Legacy) before realising that was a bad idea and switching to a hydraulically controlled system. They trialed the hydraulic semi-automatic H-pattern gearboxes late in '98 and introduced them for the '99 season (on the S5).

It is believed that Codemasters recorded audio from this very car earlier in the year... ...fingers, legs, arms, everything crossed it is coming soon!

I have long hoped he would. He silenced a lot of critics when he came to the European Championship with OMSE, its a real shame that he didn't have a more consistent platform when he has been back over here. To be fair, Subaru should really be dominant at this point: their budget easily eclipses that of the other competitors in ARX (and quite likely those in WRX as well).

That's understandable @couger1981! Last of Us was the last game I bought for the PS3 and its been a long time since I have played it, so I am interested in playing it again!
-
Almost did: Bakkerud had the lead in the final, but Foust found a gap! As much as I want to see Subaru do well, Foust deserves a lot more titles, so I wouldn't mind seeing him win. Hopefully Bakkerud and Wiman will get some seat time in the Subaru between now and the next round so they can get more comfortable with the car.

Just got round to watching this. Would prefer it without the music over the driving clips, but this is still excellent.
-
The Last of Us is free on PS Plus next month. Absolutely loved it on PS3, so will probably play through it again on PS4 in anticipation of the sequel (which I really hope delivers). I see there is a trailer for a new Medal of Honor out. Not sure how I feel about that, the early MoH games were absolutely fantastic, but I felt the series diminished in quality over time. Fingers crossed the new game isn't a disappointment.

Oh really? I haven't heard that before, would be interested to know more if that is the case.
-
The horrid truth about the quattro!
-
Yeah, I agree. Scott Speed set some of the fastest times at Canada, but I'd say that circuit suits the Subaru. When it comes to some of the tighter European circuits, I think the STI would struggle against some of it's rivals.

I had wondered if SRT USA going to World Rallycross was a possibility next year. Be a bold move to opt for a Subaru over the S1, though if Subaru were at least partially funding things then its surely a possibility. Its no secret that RX Cartel have had a tight budget this season.

Bakkerud and Wiman to drive for Subaru for the remainder of the ARX season: https://www.arxrallycross.com/news/2019/9/24/bakkerud-wiman-join-expanded-lineup-with-subaru-motorsports-usa-for-remainder-of-arx-season?fbclid=IwAR2CLiFwnPIm5BPT-dMn8CeRUdzf4n4iU7lNZ25Wqi7bhCz-FNpzWvUHpcY Maybe an attempt to try and deny Foust some points?

Definitely one of the most successful World Rallycross cars, though I'd say that the 2014 built PSRX DS3 is still the most successful World Supercar (2 x World Championships & 1 x RallyX Nordic Championship).

Here you go @F2CMaDMaXX Semi finals start about an hour in.
-
Just finished watching the livestream. Absolutely unbelievable end to the season. I thought Eriksson should have been punished in the first semi, was surprised he got away with that contact. Lucky that Ekstrom was there to help Larsson. And, although I wanted Robin to take it, I did feel desperately sorry for Oliver: he did everything right (apart from waiting to celebrate).
-
RallyX Nordic semis and finals live on Facebook this afternoon, looking forward to seeing who takes it. I'm cheering for Larsson, but they are all deserving winners.
-
Yeah, true, but that mechanic is representing the team as much as anyone else and to get physical with another team member is very poor form. Kenneth Hansen wasn't in Riga at the weekend. And the Hansen team didn't hesitate to cry to the stewards (or the TV camera) about Larsson, so I would say that Ekstrom was just following their lead... ...I'd like to see the Hansen mechanic do that to Liam next time!
-
There was contact between Robin Larsson and Timmy Hansen on day one, with Larsson punished for his driving (unfairly in my personal opinion). Timmy had his little rant on TV Sunday morning (after winning his Q3 race) where he claimed that the Audis were out to get them (despite Timmy and Loeb driving that circuit in an almost identical fashion last year). If I am understanding the clip properly, then it looks like the Hansen mechanic "hits" Ekstrom, then tells him to **** off? Hence why Ekstrom went to the stewards after the race? Very poor form from the Hansen team. I have struggled to warm to Timmy and Kevin, but always had respect for the team because Kenneth is a legend of the sport. This sort of conduct reflects poorly on the team.
-
I read a claim on another forum about a scuffle between team members, but wasn't convinced there was any truth to it... that clip at the 20:10 mark suggests there may have been at least some truth to the story.
-
Yeah, I'd say "edgy" is probably what they were going for. Have to say I wasn't a massive fan of Tierp. The banked dirt section was quite cool, but the grandstand section wasn't great. It was OK for a "temporary" circuit, but not a patch on the classic tracks (in my personal opinion anyway!). Seeing that Tierp clip also reminds me: I wonder when Oliver Solbergs film is going to get an international release?
-
Haha, it's bloody awful, isn't it? Speaking of yellow Audis, I see they have revealed the livery that Ekstrom will run at the final RallyX Nordic round: Another great livery for the S1!
-
Yeah, I agree. I'd like to see the onboard(s) in order to fairly judge things, but I thought it was just a race incident. It's not like Timmy hasn't done the same thing either... ...Robin has been posting some gold on his Instagram this week: https://www.instagram.com/p/B2bjgJrj1CX/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link https://www.instagram.com/p/B2hHosojOH3/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link I think he might be a bit annoyed by the whole thing.

*GUILTY* I shame quit after making such a mess of my E2...
-
Agreed with regards to the delay. Two to four weeks would be OK, but two months is ridiculous: I assume they are sending the cars on a very slow boat to keep the costs down! And yeah, I thought that DQ was rubbish as well. I would like to see the onboard from Larsson though, just to confirm.
