DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

That is what I thought. The STARD Fiesta is already in game as well, so they have the car model... ...fingers crossed the teaser tonight confirms the i20!

Indeed, so does that mean we can expect to see patch notes this afternoon?...

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Come on Rachel, make this our day, our month and our year...
  9. Ha, that would be epic! Looks like Janis may contest limited rounds. I guess JC Raceteknik are keen to put someone in the car, as there are financial penalties if they don't. Trying to write a preview for this season is a nightmare: there have been so many changes in the last few months!
  10. Janis Baumanis doesn't have the budget for 2020, so Mattias Ekstrom will drive in his place: https://www.fiaworldrallycross.com/article/10662/ekstrom-back-in-world-rx
  11. I have missed that launch sound!

    DIRT 2.0

Perhaps I have missed it, but have you made one positive post since you joined here @hockeytown1926? Constructive criticism is great, but constantly ranting gets really boring to read.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Just chilling here, waiting for news on the DR2.0 surprise(s).
  17. It is definitely a fun one to race with friends: you know at least one of you is going to push too hard and end up on your roof!
  18. It was my least favourite round on the revised calendar, so I am not that sad to see it go... ...that was the last bit of "World" in the 2020 calendar though: it is all European now.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I REALLY hope the surprises aren't eSport related. I am sure that aspect of the game appeals to some, but it doesn't interest me at all.
  20. I saw a story a few days ago that Ford are officially partnered with STARD concerning electric rallycross: http://stard.at/2020/07/17/stard-launches-worlds-first-road-car-based-electric-motorsport-customer-programme-with-the-ford-fiesta-erx2/

We can but hope. I am sure, like us, Jen is still curious to know about any final DR2.0 "surprises".

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Why is Jen here? Has she returned in anticipation of an announcement?
  23. That is one theory. The other (and I think more likely) is that someone from Subaru read this thread and decided to drop the incorrect S4. Was hoping that license might have been tweaked for DiRT 5, but I see social media posts are referring to the car in that game as S4 as well: hopefully you can correct it for the next DiRT game! It is my assumption (you know what they say about that!) that Subaru had no say: the "S" number was an internal designation and it was only from the WRC98 onwards where that number seems to have come into widespread usage outside the Prodrive facility. That said, the SVX theory holds water in that respect in that, if Prodrive were communicating with the Subaru factory and using their own internal designation within those messages, it could have been a possible point of confusion. That does seem a bit of a stretch, but Japanese staff were directly involved in the development of the car in that period, so maybe every effort was being taken to avoid confusion... ...I am still not entirely convinced though: I intend to keep asking until someone in the know provides a straight answer!
  24. As we keep getting reoccurring posts on the naming of certain cars, I thought I would compile a thread with all the answers in one place. So, for any future discussions, people can be directed here. If you’re here because someone has linked you to this thread, then chances are you have posted one of the dreaded trigger words. Now what did you say? I said S1E2. Go to post 2. I said 22B. Go to post 3.
