The greatest audio sin of Polyphony thus far was attaching the most bland engine sound on file to the E2 quattro! I am glad they have made big audio improvements in GT Sport.
-
Yeah, despite saying that I am not bothered by their return I know I'd play through them all to get golds! As you say, it's another way to improve car control... ...sometimes though, I just want to drive flat out and do some unnecessary big slides!
-
Yeah, I agree. Would be cool to see the livery editor back, but I REALLY don't miss having to constantly renew engineer contracts and pick new sponsors every few races.
-
I wouldn't want to see huge amounts of resources committed to it (and I don't care about all the "block smashing" and time trials and all that), I'd just like to see them bring the basic (plain) environment back from DiRT 4. Yeah, time trial is really good for working on lap times, but there just isn't room on any of the stages to play around with the cars.
-
I believe there are other factors at play with Toyota and Codemasters (and these have been an issue for some time). Nice to see I am not the only one who would like to see Dirtfish (or a similar) back. A wide open space would be very useful for playing with car setup!
-
Ha, was thinking exactly the same!
-
Hillclimb was destined to be a part of DiRT 4 (and surely would have featured in DR2.0) until Polyphony exclusively licensed Pikes Peak... ...at this point I would love to know why, as its been several years and there has been zero mention of it in any recent GT title! Damn shame, as that was one of my frequently played environments in DR1: gravel Pikes Peak and the E2 quattro = gaming bliss!

Haven't you already been through this nonsense before when you first joined the forum @ale81udine? For someone who thinks everyone else is childish you are quick to resort to name calling and insults.

Yeah, I noticed that Renault Sport were pushing GCK on social media now. There was talk that Chichiret was chasing manufacturer backing last year, perhaps he has finally got some interest!
-
The Pugs are the 2018 specification cars from the first half of the season @JorritVD. Peugeot Sport have retained the "evolution" 208's (for now). As you say, I hope that the EKS and Hansen cars have had minimal development so the rest of the field can catch up. I had high hopes for GCK this year @JamesMcAdam, but I understand the cars will no longer be supported/developed by Prodrive. If that is the case I wonder how competitive they are going to be this year.
-
Photos and videos today showing Szabo, Bakkerud and Doran all testing 2018 specification Audi S1 with EKS support. If EKS are running all three cars this year then I expect them to be fast and consistent.
-
Didn't get in from work until late last night so only got to briefly try the new cars. I have been using one of the short stages in Spain to compare cars and I did my fastest time through the stage on my first go in the Fabia then went faster again on my first try in the C4! Both cars seem absolutely planted, just like the real thing (especially the C4)
-
Yeah. Made the cars phenomenally quick, but rather undramatic to watch. I was very dubious when they confirmed that the 2017 WRCars would be running active centre diffs as I was afraid it would make them dull to watch: thankfully that wasn't the case!
-
Awesome! I saw the icon had changed when I was playing last night and got all excited, but the new cars weren't showing at that point. I look forward to taking them for a spin (probably literally) this evening.
-
No apology necessary! As you say, the suspension (and drivetrain) of the R5's is much better: it's perfect proof of how quickly rally cars continue to develop. Have the new cars gone live yet?
-
Yeah, it's very close between them. If you watch events like the Irish Tarmac Championship than the late 2.0L (and early 1.6L) WRCars are very slightly quicker than the R5's, but there isn't much in it!
-
R5's are much quicker than Group A cars in real life, the R5's are pretty close to the later 2.0L WRCars. There isn't a massive difference in BHP (280 in the R5 versus 300ish in the WRCars), but the 2.0L WRCars benefit from much more torque.

Mettet was the rallycross circuit I was most looking forward to but, as I have said elsewhere, it doesn't seem right to me and I'm not really enjoying it. Trois-Rivieres is a bit more of a challenge than I was expecting and Barcelona is much trickier than I thought it would be. Silverstone is a pretty boring layout in real life, but it's quite good fun in game (although, like real life, a very slow circuit). As for the rally side of things New Zealand is the location that has made the biggest impression on me. I was expecting to like Poland (and I really do), but the New Zealand stages flow really well. I rather like New England as well. Not hugely technical, but good for getting to grips with new cars.

Finished playing through the MW: Remastered campaign at the weekend. Although some elements of the gameplay seem rather basic now, I forgot just how good (and varied) the game was. Definitely CoD at it's freshest and best!

206 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 307 No question as to which one I would prefer to see in the game!

Great news about the implementation of the DLC. I'm not spending much time in the career, but I am glad to see the DLC will form part of it for those who do though. However this... ...is intriguing: to Google search! PS: Fair play to Mandy: I imagine her line of work must be absolutely infuriating at times!
-
Love both those liveries, great choice! Look forward to running the new additions and the R5's at Monte Carlo.

I think it might have felt different it I'd have seen Gymkhana 10, then watched how they made it. Seeing the "making of" before the feature seemed the wrong way around! The Fiesta was already a developed (and competitive) car whereas they had to start from scratch with the Focus. I personally think Block would have had more success in 2016 if he'd been in the Fiesta and the learning curve for the team would have been less steep. Ford seemed to lose interest in 2017 and development of the car stalled. (I don't dispute that the Focus looked pretty cool though!)
-
Yeah, I found the series far more entertaining than the end product. It was sad to see the rallycross programme grind to a halt in 2017, I still maintain it would have been a different story if they'd have used the Fiesta rather than the Focus. How many of this years teams have the funding to send and run cars at a non-Championship event though?
-
If they are 2018 cars being run by EKS then Bakkerud is surely going to be the pace setter. Not sure on NRX, none of the World teams took their primary cars there last year so, with no factory teams involved this year, I wonder how many (if any) teams will have a car to spare for NRX.
