DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

My PSN is tbtstt82, I think there are a few on the forum who are up for some (clean) rallycross! I have only used a wheel twice (the first time was actually the D-Box setup at Codemasters!) and I was much slower on both occasions. I am not setting world records with a controller, but I am fairly consistent. When I make the upgrade I want to do it properly: I don't want to get a wheel until I have a proper race seat to bolt it to!

Yeah, I play with pad (PS4). I have wanted to get a steering wheel for some time, I just haven't had the cash to spare.

By getting faster stage times than PC owners with wheels, that's pretty satisfying.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Yeah, there definitely has been at least one (I think there may have been one in the Dirt section and another in the Off Topic section). I can't see it in the forum search, it may be they have become "invisible" threads after the forum transition. EDIT: I found the off topic one (thanks Google!)

Be glad you missed it. The rallycross segment was torture to watch!

I am actually offended by this post. My sideburns look way cooler then that. This looks very nice! What R3 parts do you have fitted? Do you have any more pictures? Would like to see your Escort Cosworth and Integrale as well, they are great cars!

Was my first reply to you not respectful? The mood on this forum is always friendly, any comments made are done in jest and should not be taken personally. The information I provided you was meant to be informative as, if you are as keen about rally cars as you suggest, then I thought you would like the facts.

Hey, everyone is allowed to get it wrong once! 😆 If you have really owned all those cars then it's a shame you are being so rude, as many of those cars are favourites of mine and I'd love to hear more about them. As others have said this subject has been discussed many times on this forum. Check the link in the last page, have a read, do some research of your own and make you own decision: believe me I wouldn't make the correction unless I was 100% sure!

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Present at 140 rallies every year is very impressive (how do you fit in work?), however I have been following rally for about the same time as you and been an Impreza nerd for almost 25 of those years. Yeah, I own an Impreza (have done for almost 10 year now), but that's irrelevant really: anyone old enough to read can do a bit of research on the internet and see I'm right. Maybe try that before you start calling anyone out. PS: Went to Rally Legend last year: it's an incredible event. I even saw a 22B there (in the car park).

I apologise for the delay everyone. The 22B signal was obscured by clouds. I have now seen it and am here to dispense the Subaru trivia that everyone is sick of hearing. First up... ...this isn't a 22B @Ale81udine. This is the 1997 car, so it's a S4 Impreza WRC (or a WRC97 if you prefer the SWRT nomenclature) As @Skyrex has already mentioned more information can be found here: Codemasters Forum - The Confusing Car Name Thread But the short version is this: the 22B was a road car, not a rally car. It was released in 1998 and designed to emulate the look of the 1997/1998 Impreza World Rally Car. The two door, wide arch, Impreza World Rally Cars were on stages for well over a year before the 22B hit showrooms and its name is actually homage to the rally car: "22B" is hexdecimal for "555".

I'd also like to see a Hyundai on the rallycross side of things... ...working windows aren't a requirement there either!

Can you also have a word with someone about the standard of driving as well? 😄

Haha, bad, isn't it? 10 corners and he doesn't make it cleanly around one of them! 😄

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Yeah, I noticed that there was no "pre-release" marked on it. The rallycross footage at the end is painful to watch: I was willing him to use the brakes!

Yeah, despite my disappointment, that's what I am trying to take from it! Yeah, that looks wider, though the arches on the WRCar were cut on the rear. Bigger grill and no scoop on the WRCar as well!

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I think some of the front end panels on the RX car were quite close to the WRCar, but the rear end (and the weight distribution) is different on the RX car due to the rear mounted radiator setup. Although it's not my favourite I just hope the S14 is properly implemented and not just an R4 with a livery applied.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Hmmm, I'm not sure on that. The R4 is aesthetically and mechanically different, plus it sounds quite different. They can use the wing from before though!

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Yeah, I am trying not to be negative about it (especially when Christina has run around to get us the answers), but I think the S14 is the least requested Impreza as well! Still, nice to have another more modern WRCar in game.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

The last three S12b's built by Prodrive didn't see action until 2008, so you could maybe say they were 2008 cars... ...I think that is clutching at straws though: the 2008 is surely the hatchback!
  22. tbtstt

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

That's the 2007 season car (the S12b), the S14 wasn't ready in time for the opening rounds. Solberg drove the hatchback (S14) later in the 2008 season. Atkinson used a modified S12b in 2008 (the infamous S12c), then switched to an S14 later in the season. It was supposed to have been McRae driving in 2008, makes you wonder what would have happened to SWRT if he hadn't died in 2007.

Yeah, Oliver has been using a Latvian loophole for some events!

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Well my two least favourite Impreza WRCars are the S14 and S7: and those are the two that have made it into the game! 😂 Hopefully more might come in later seasons! I might be reading too much into it, but Christina saying that the 2001 Impreza would come in "another season", rather than "in season two", makes me think it might follow later. I'm also not sure about the four Group B cars either. I wonder if it will be a pair of Group B RX cars, two modern Supercars (one of which is the MINI) and perhaps two Group B RWD cars (Lancia 037 and Porsche 911 SC RS)?

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

    Yeah, that's the S14.
