I had Codemasters Southam in mind. I don't know how much work is distributed within the company but, as I understand it (perhaps incorrectly), it's a relatively small team working on Dirt.
-
Possibly, or perhaps one of the DiRT 4 Supercars will make a return? (hopefully the DS3, though I suspect the Focus may be a more popular choice)
-
So it's a topic that has already been touched on in the car thread, but I thought I'd post it here as well. Although the BMW is a welcome surprise I am surprised not to see the 037. Given that we know the 911 SC was being recorded I wonder if there will be another couple of Group B RWD cars in the next DLC? Given that we got six cars this time, might we get four Group B RX cars and two more Group B RWD cars in DLC2? Or perhaps the Group B RX cars be cut to two?
-
Ha, you'll need to bargain with Polyphony to make that happen! As already said in the posts above I think our expectations have to reflect the fact that Codemasters is a relatively small studio when compared to some to others producing racing games. There has always been a huge shopping list of extra content that we wanted, DR2.0 looks to be getting more post-release than any other CM title thus far, so that definitely seems like a step forward. You said yesterday that you have been playing the beta for three years @CodingRacer, is there no difficulty selection in the beta?
-
Ha, that was the bit I was just thinking about as well!
-
But then a subsequent post on here said 2001 Impreza, which contradicts the details in the blog. Haha, the Transit is back again!
-
Yeah, very surprised not to see the 037. Given that we know the 911 SC was being recorded I wonder if there will be another couple of Group B RWD cars in the next DLC. Given that we got six cars this time, might we get four Group B RX cars and two more Group B RWD cars in DLC2?

Given how many times Christina has been tagged I suspect it may be a while before we get an answer! (like you though I am very keen to know!)
-
Yeah, I assume they will all be rolled in to one 2000cc class.
-
That contradicts the press release earlier that says the Impreza is a new addition. (the 2001 car was in DiRT Rally and DiRT 4)
-
The Focus and C4 met each other. The Impreza might have met someone, but I'm still confused as to which one it is!
-
Well I WANT more rallycross tracks. So there.
-
It will be a WRC, but not called a WRC!
-
Yeah, I'm confused! Any chance you can give us a sneak peek of the Impreza for confirmation @ChristinaMc? (Sorry to keep you tagging you, but you know what a bunch of cars nerds some of us are!) The S5, S11 and S12b are my faves, so getting either the S11 or S12b would be absolutely fantastic. Technically the S14 would fit between the Focus and C4, so I guess that is a possibility. S2000 cars are slower than WRCars, so I'm sorry to say I still don't think it would fit @gfRally!
-
Oh no @ChristinaMc, you can't do that to us: we've all been going mad for a new Impreza! 😄 100% it's a 2001 car then?
-
Yeah, my thinking is along exactly the same lines: I don't recall anyone getting excited about the S14, so I personally wouldn't class that as "highly requested". Perhaps Christina is slightly out with her years or (outside possibility), the Impreza in question is the S12c (which would be a 2008 car). I think the latter is pretty unlikely though.
-
Whatever you're smoking, I want some. I personally don't think the "Open" SRT USA car would be comparable with a WRCar. There are a couple of S14's in the UK/Ireland, so it shouldn't have been too hard to find a real one to record.

Christina has just posted in the Discord: "However, the Skoda Fabia Rally is 14 years old and competed in the top flight of rally. The C4 is nine years old, and also competed in the top flight of rally. Also, the Subaru Impreza did too... two years before that. (I hope I can count. It is 2019, right?)" So if I have read this right: 2005 Fabia 2010 Citroen C4 2008 Impreza (which would mean it's an S14)(or the S12c, but I'd say that's unlikely)

-
I really hope they have recorded the audio of a real Fabia WRC. One of the rowdiest sounding 2.0L WRCars!
-
Yeah, they said last week this would be just rally: we were told five cars and got six though, so that's a nice bonus!
-
I assume that the C4, Fabia, Focus and Impreza are all 2000cc cars. BMW M1 and Opel Manta in a Group B RWD class? The burning question for me, is what Impreza is it? The 2001 car doesn't really fit with that lot. Is it one of the holy grails? Are we going to get an S12b?...
-
Season one DLC content has been revealed and it includes six new cars: I assume that the C4, Fabia, Focus and Impreza are all 2000cc cars. BMW M1 and Opel Manta in a Group B RWD class?
-
IT'S HAPPENED!
-
Based on the comment from Christina (on Discord) it seems like the delay is due to an issue out of her hands. (Not that I am any less disappointed we won't get any news today)
