I watched the first season and was, for the most part, very disappointed. I hope season 2 will be an improvement, the inclusion of a 037 is a step in the right direction!

Cool to see a car charging round in the sort of terrain that you'd see a motocross bike. Block has done this before though, for the "Blast" book a couple of years ago (which I really want a copy of, but it's a bit pricey). I believe his Pikes Peak video is out next month. I really want to see him use his RS200 for a video though!

YourStage may have some flaws but, given that DiRT 4 is the first iteration of this technology, I think it can only get better from here. Having raced quite a bit in all the environments, I note that longer random stages do sometimes seem to end up with similar sections repeated. However, when you do get a completely unique stage, I think it's excellent: with the scope it currently has (and it's further potential) I really wouldn't want to see a return to purely premade stages again.

real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship
tbtstt replied to Fedemaisonnave's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Yeah, I agree. I know a lot of people seem to begrudge Ogier taking the title again, but it would massively elevate him in my opinion if he can win the title in something other than a Polo. It would also - as you have already said - be a long-deserved reward for Malcolm Wilson and M-Sport. Title contender or not, Ott Tanak has been the star of 2017 for me! -

This should take you to the clip @Dytut: https://www.facebook.com/irishwhale/videos/10213526119616408/ Really can't decide: was either a loose wheel or Kris was having to put a lot of steering input in? -

I don't seem able to link it, but it has been posted in the comment section of the "Irish Rallying" Facebook page (it has been recorded off the TV so the quality isn't great). Having watched it again I'm not so sure now: I think it may be Meeke making corrections rather than a loose wheel as I first thought. -

I just saw a replay of the Meeke crash being shared on Facebook: right front wheel looks like it is wobbling before the impact? -
GRID?? People always assume "more racing games" and nobody asks for us to finish Hei$t. It's a new Brian Lara game, isn't it?

Plato is an entertaining driver, but a lot of rubbish has come out of his mouth over the years! As brilliant as it is to seeing them winning, I do wonder if they need to restrain the Subaru's a bit. Really hope that Sutton can take the Championship this year. Gutted to see Jordan having another bad weekend. I really hoped he would be at the sharp end in the BMW this year. Best bit of Knockhill was the Newsham move on the final corner: absolutely brilliant bit of driving!

Sped up action, trippy editing and a lot of random musical segments: it has to be a Bollywood film!

"a similar version"... ...apart from the engine, drivetrain and aero package. ;)

real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship

Completely missed this: great post and some excellent photos! I am yet to see the 2017 WRCars in action and, the more I hear from people who have seen them, the more I want to get to a rally. I know what you mean about the cars in DiRT 4: I really like the R5 class and, given it's such a significant class in National rallying, I'm really glad there are R5's in game... but a part of me does want to see just how fast the 2017 WRCars would be in comparison! -
An exclusive license deal with Polyphony perhaps? Be interesting to see what makes it into GT Sport.
-
That's the secret of the DiRTy Gossip thread... but stay on topic. ;)

Cheers @dgeesi0!

Week or so ago I was fortunate enough to get an invitation to the 6R4.net track day. Many cool cars were seen, here are some of them: Craig Breen arrived later in the day for his first crack at a 6R4... ...didn't take him long to start throwing it around! More pictures here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/22961613@N06/albums/72157684238407881 If any of you are interested!

Barely DiRTy Gossip, but this thread is quiet and my post involves rally cars, so I'm going for it! I am often updating my branch, I wouldn't read too much into when that one gets updated. Do you realize that this post is directly contradicting forum policy @CMMcBabe? You are supposed to reply with an ambiguous statement containing just enough information to fuel another bout of wild speculation. Your helpful and accurate reply gives us nothing to work with.

@tbtstt :o Well that, was, er, "interesting".

Here's a favourite of mine. Heave breathin Kenneth Eriksson. I really love how they had to man handle these older cars. The modern stuff is more point and squirt. https://youtu.be/O0FTUm6y7ts Yeah, you can see the McRae influence on the handling of the early Impreza WRCars: absolutely zero understeer! Compare it to the more recent WRCars and there is a world of difference!

What is the meaning of triple crown? When you have won the last Championship in the career Rally, Rallycross and Landrush categories, the "Triple Crown" is unlocked. The Triple Crown consists of one Rally, one Rallycross and one Landrush Championship.

Off is the most realistic: it is the only driving aid I have switched on though, as I sometimes find it tricky to be delicate on the brakes using a controller!
-
Same for me: looks like it is going to be a long wait to get the set of Group B RX cars then!
-
Didn't see that. Rally version, sorry. Oddly enough I have seen the rally RS200 numerous times now, but it was the rallycross RS200 I have had to wait ages for.
-
Ah, so it's time based? I assumed that it changed every time you completed an event.
