A likely story. Next thing you'll be telling us that you kept beating times set by Kris Meeke as well...

GrpA Impreza: Winning the Triple Crown, all three events. Ah brilliant thanks, I have almost got it then: I'm have done the rallycross and landrush in the triple crown, I'm currently two events into the rally! I'm curious about the other liveries I am yet to see in the classified. I haven't touched any of the classic rally events yet, so I wonder if more will appear once I get into those.

Has anyone seen the "555" livery Group A Impreza in the classified yet? Is it unlocked after doing a specific event, or does it just pop up at random? I haven't seen any of the "proper" Group B rallycross liveries appear in the classified yet either. I wonder if certain events unlock specific liveries, or if they just appear at random.

Did you try driving down a side road immediately after seeing that? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dz3xlJpucs

This is the DiRTy Gossip thread, it's been running off the rails since page two...

Here's the livery on the i20: That looks awesome, especially with Prodrive as the primary sponsor!

You need to go back to Codies HQ and get yourself scanned in as the trackside photographer. Ha, that would be pretty cool! Sure it would be easier for them to reuse the DR models though!
-
Forgive the double post, but something minor (and I mean really minor) that I noticed a few days ago but forgot to post: the photographers that were on the rallycross circuits in DiRT Rally are gone now. Bring back the trackside photographers (please)!

No, you aren't the only one! The karts and Pro2 trucks have been the biggest challenge for me so far. I started driving the karts like circuit racers and I iimediately got a lot faster. They do snap though and, although you can slide them, they are way more predictable if you keep it clean. The 2001 WRCar livery was awarded to me relatively early in the rally career. I am now about 70% through the rally career and I was awarded an alternate (Prodrive) livery for the NR4 Impreza last night. I am yet to get/see the 555 livery for the Group A car. That's the one I really want, but it's not popped up in the classified yet so I suspect it won't come until later in the career!

Have to say I'm loving the correct sound of that car: love that off-throttle flutter! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMP3PsKmcyU

Standard DiRTy Gossip then really.

Yet another twist in the DiRTy Gossip thread, as it turns into a scene from 8 Mile.

nice feedback but this also kinda highlights why we are finding it hard to agree on the handling at the moment.tarmac is generally great gravel generally isnt perfect.who is right wrong who knows ? :D This calls for an Epic Rap Battle, Dirt Rally physics against Dirt 4. Who wins? YOU DECIDE! There is so much hate, But I can feel cars weight, And suspension now takes the load, Of those bumps in the road, DiRT Rally laid fresh physics down, But now DiRT 4 takes the crown.

I squeezed the Pro4 Championship in between a couple of rally events last night. Way less of a handful than the Pro2 trucks, lots of sideways corner entries and some very loud V8's: definitely the most fun element of the game for me outside of Dirtfish!

I don't think so: each car in your garage has the choice of the livery that was on it when you bought/were given it, plus your team livery. If you want a car in multiple colours you have to buy it again (I assume you have to buy upgraded parts again for the second car as well). I've bought Scoobie 2001 just to be rewarded with Burns livery one. I've sold the livery one, but now I'm able to choose the Burns livery on the used one that I've bought first. That's interesting to read, so you have more than two liveries available on a car in the garage then? I can choose three - white (how I bought it), team livery and Burns one. Ah, interesting: seems you don't need to own the same car multiple times to have lots of liveries then!

Yep part quality changes on the cars in the classifieds. Excellent, cheers for the confirmation. So if we have a particular car, either new or old, with "A" parts fitted, that is as good as that car can be? Aside from collecting different colours, there is no reason to have multiple versions of the same car? I'll add to the wishlist but I believe there are complex reasons why we didn't do this. I had been wondering about this, fair play if it's a technical limitation!

Mainly focused on the rallying last night. The flowing roads in Spain are superb and I love the slow town sections. Did my first R5 Championship (in Wales). Absolutely everything I was hoping for from the game. I like the stronger shadows under the trees, makes judging some of the apexes much trickier in bright sunshine. Finished up with some test races in the various supercars to try and decide on my fave: nice to see the DS3 retains the soft Solberg setup! Still trying to figure out the intricacies of car collecting. Seems to be any car purchased new has the option of your own team livery or the first of the preset liveries (doesn't seem to be any alternate livery selection when you buy new?). Similarly used cars get the option of the livery you buy them with or your team livery? New/old cars are all the same specification wise though, aren't they? It's just the quality of parts (which concerns reliability, not performance) that changes?

Pretty unbelievable footage from the practise, can't believe the red flag didn't come out sooner.

Don't want to sound like a 'wheel snob', but man you need to try them on a wheel! Wrestling with your own truck plus 7 other and the bumps, it's bloody hard work! That's such a wheel snob thing to say. After getting through the first track in the Championship (think it was one of the Baja layouts?) I found them a bit easier. The faster, flowing circuits aren't too bad (as long as someone doesn't hit you at speed!), but getting the trucks out of the slower corners is a real handful. Finished the Pro2 Championship yesterday, so onto the Pro4 tonight!

I love that game! Closest thing we've had to a HD Desert Strike.
-
Just had my first go in the Pro2 trucks. Multiple encounters with the barriers, several spins and a lot of bad language... ...think I might come back to those.

Why have you marked this post as off topic @BigSur ? @RallyDriven marked one of my DiRTY Gossip posts as off topic (click here) for no reason @Rallycameraman, so I think he had this coming.

Put a good few hours in last night and I'm loving the game thus far. Made the mistake of starting off with the invitational Hyundai event which was a bit of a waste, as I spent most of the stages fine tuning the controls to suit my preference. Had a crack at the daily afterwards and had my first encounter with the fog which was a panel-smashing experience! I have only driven 4WD cars so far and to me the cars seem far more predictable than DiRT Rally. In that sense I guess you could say it's "easier", but it's brilliant to be able to really push the limits of the stage without fear of clipping a rock and being sent into low earth orbit. Dirtfish is everything I hoped it would be. For all the stick gymkhana has got over the years, you can't deny that it's not good fun to have a wide open space to play with the cars and tweak their settings. Despite having already seen it I'm even more impressed with Your Stage. Everything looks prettier and Spain is even better than the gameplay videos had me believe it would be. Oh, and despite a few off-stage excursions I have only killed one group of spectators, so I am glad that have learnt from DiRT Rally. ;) Couple of hours of painting then I'm back on the PS4: I'm hoping to get the World Rallycross Championship unlocked before the end of the weekend!
