I'm going to say no. I would personally like the cars to reflect their real life equivalents. I know that is going to result in leaderboards dominated by one or maybe two cars, but I would like the cars to be as true to reality as possible. Even if that does mean they are a bit slower than their rivals. I'm going to say Rally Germany. Based on what we saw in Monte, I think the 2017 WRCars are going to be bonkers to watch on German tarmac: I think it would be worth being there for that!

Once again Neuville seems to have the speed, he just needs to avoid solid objects. That's a bold statement from Citroen: if the car has been predominantly tested on gravel then it should be in it's element in Mexico. For Meeke's sake I really hope it does will this weekend. -
They did make a lot of jokes on the number plates, but those were always improvised, not scripted. Top Gear does a lot of scripting, but any number plate jokes they made was not scripted, they all been pure coincidence. Also I still can't understand how some people made a connection between a number plate of "H982 FKL" and the Falkland war. First of all, when you're giving a year, it's either full date or just the tenths, aka either 1982 or '82. You don't do "982", so that automatically implies it's not a date. That sounds more like a number of a submarine or something. And then there's the "FKL" part. If I was to shorten "Falkland" into 3 letters, it would definitely be "FLK", not "FKL" as that sounds more like "F**k lands" rather than "Falkland". The problem is not in whether the guys looked for some number plate that relates to that war, but more on the fact that there's a bunch of Argentinians that see the Falkland war on everywhere that is British related. I wouldn't be surprised if they found DiRT to be an insult to them, because it's made by a British company... We'll have to agree to disagree there @RyuMakkuro. As you say though... ...enough of that: now back to the DiRTy Gossip!

I have seen clips about the history of the car/plate before @F2CMaDMaXX. I certainly don't disagree that the plate was real @Snaky115 (I don't think the BBC would go to the lengths of paying the DVLA to falsify records!), but I don't believe that the selection of the car was accidental. As I said in my previous post the trio had a history of making jokes with number plates and, with the knowledge of history that I know both Clarkson and May possess, I find it very, very, hard to believe that neither of them made the connection. Having said that... Some Argentines hate the British. I, for one, love the British! Also the Falklands are all yours xoxo Yeah, but the few hateful Argentinians ruin it for everybody. We've all seen how well Top Gear's Peace Keeping soccer trip went, due to a random number on the license plate. DiRTy Thread Off Topic: There is no way in a million years that was a random number plate! They had done multiple number plate gags in Top Gear prior to the Argentina trip yet they expect us to believe that they just happened to pick a car that had that number plate? Sorry, but that is far too much of a coincidence for me... ...the local reaction was perhaps excessive, but it was only by a minority: I certainly wouldn't make a generalization on Argentina because of that. I reckon the whole thing was staged for television purposes. The American road trip was far too similar in its attack from locals ...I think they underestimated how violent the reaction was from the locals @KevM. Those Americans looked annoyed, but not a patch on the Argentinians. Still, did them a favour really as, aside from the attack, I found it one of the least interesting Top Gear specials!

I'm going to miss the fact I'll not be missing the bouncing issues that the S1 has in DR xD (yep, still not touching the rally part, only rallycross, and I agree, I'm a retard and an idiot :D ) Haha! Well it just occured to me that there is still a possibility that the E2 may not be a rally car: we know that there are some Group B rallycross cars in game, so perhaps the E2 will be in this class and the car in the Group B rally car class will still be the S1?
-
Yeah, I'd like to see (and hear) some video of the E2 in action. Going to be good to see one of (if not the) most iconic car of the Group B era in game. (I'm going to miss the S1 though: I personally prefer the look of it to the E2).

Greece and Sweden are the two locations I have struggled with most in DiRT Rally. I have made big improvements in Greece and I am better (or rather a bit less awful) in Sweden then I was, but I'm certainly not going to challenge any of the stage records!
-
I love clipping snow banks and pirouetting into the trees... ...no, wait, that's my least favourite thing in DiRT Rally.
-
Possibly just the clips we've seen, but I think the cars behavior in the air looks more natural in general. The changes in rallycross car handling were the most noticeable difference on the day when we saw the game last year and I'm sure they have been further refined at this point. Something that I haven't seen discussed as much is the landrush vehicles: all the RWD options felt like a real handful and I think they'll be a good challenge for those opting for the more realistic handling option.

The Team Austria cars were in DR: though they were liveries applied to the OMSE cars rather than different models. Ditto for the Hansen and Albatec Peugeot 208's which were all liveries applied to the same model. They have already stated that the rallycross cars in DiRT 4 are based on those from the 2016 season, so I wouldn't expect to see the M-Sport or STARD Fiestas. The last time that the Audi S1 was mentioned there was still a license issue preventing it's inclusion. I have my fingers crossed that the official Audi sponsorship for EKS might allow the licensing issue to be overcome, but I suspect that might be wishful thinking!

I predict that @Rallycameraman has replayed this video at least 100 times already.

Sure it won't take Bertelli long to redecorate the car with some local colours. ;) I don't know if I'd call it "uninteresting", but I think I can see where @dwkGravey is coming from. I think the livery on Ogier's car blends really well with the lines of the car making it look a bit less mad, where as Ostberg, Tanak and Bertelli's livery all seem to exaggerate the wild aero of the Fiesta. I personally like the look of Ogier's Fiesta though! -
Martin ran many cool cars over the years, but there is one that I covet more than any other... I don't usually use emoji things. But this deserves: <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I have driven it :D Comment flagged for abuse. I want a go in the RS RX, but I really want to have a go in a Group B rallycross car. I have my fingers crossed that a certain Ford is going to make the cut... I have seen the Group B RX cars and they look absolutely awesome! I can't wait to try them out particularly [redacted] and the [redacted] Ah yes, I recall us discussing how we both wished the placeholders for the [redacted] and [redacted] were playable so we could see how they compared against the more modern [redacted] Supercar that we tried on the day. Great post @KickUp, nice to see the transparency of the Dirt team so well conveyed on the forum.

Maybe this is all a ploy implemented from the dark depths of @KickUp's subconscious mind during his questionably numerous and frequent blackouts which switch to his secret sleeper cell North Korean agent personality to get people to stop asking such silly questions... would he go that far? How long can that smug little face hold up the act? Why am I asking you? I think you've had enough internet for today @JZStudios.

SHHHHH! That name is considered voodoo around here. i hope they record the real sound because this is music to my ears https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVPavrMIbx4 Both the M-Sport Focus RS RX and rallycross Fiesta sound absolute savage. Very pleased to see that there will be an M-Sport Fiesta in this years Championship!

I have watched that clip of the Focus RS RX coming over that crest about 20 times now. I want to drive it!

Loheac is looking good!

The short trailer reminds me of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. That wasn't a realistic racing game, but it was a very fun one! Be interested to see how this turns out.

Hear hear. The R5 news seems to have distracted many from discussing the latest video. Every time we are shown a new clip the game looks that little bit more polished. There seems to be a lot more depth to DiRT 4 that we are yet to learn about as well... ...come on June: hurry up and get here!
-
Fave bit of the video for me: the Focus looks absolutely spot on and, as you say, the whole thing looks like a clip from TV. Love it! Would you like to know more?
-
Be interested to know the answer to this, as I think Block might be tied to another game?

You'll need to preorder to get the Hyundai. It may become available to purchase at a later date but for now the only way to get it is to pre order. Thanks for the clarification @KickUp. Have I read the situation with the pre-order bundles correctly as well? I don't know the full details on every pack but that sounds about right. Please understand that while the dev team are involved in hooking this stuff up we don't determine who or what gets added to packs and how they are delivered. Fully understood @KickUp. My post was a query rather than a critique so I hope that's how you read it. :) I want to be sure of the bundles, as I'd like another shiny steelbook to sit alongside my DiRT Rally one!
