I got into the routine of doing a stage or two in the DS21 every time I fired up DR2.0. It's going to be great playing tonight when I can just go straight into the event I want rather than having to trudge through Monte Carlo in that boat again!
  2. Yeah, I assumed the changes had been made for gameplay purposes: I am sure the last section (the left/right before the line) is more severe in real life. And yes, those poles on the corners must be buried deep, as they are incredibly unforgiving!
  3. This idea just cropped us as a result of the Discord group, but this is a thread purely for videos of DR2.0 in action. No chat, speculation, wishes or any other text: just post the video! (and then discuss it in the Gossip Thread) https://youtu.be/DeZsc9rMXgA https://youtu.be/sdBAc29N97c https://youtu.be/A5Z-wk8iPg8 https://youtu.be/y5qC83HFrec https://youtu.be/CNRf8a0q7Mk https://youtu.be/uOOu1RBnJlY https://youtu.be/9dpM3xJJJak https://youtu.be/LDmUZXS1oGY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tpV_5R5GhA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-2YwL6hi8o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZjuEjqVKHs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhXhTzmKKQg

FINALLY. The nightmare is over. I have completed 66 (never ending) kilometres and unlocked the DS21 trophy. I am NEVER driving that car again.

I'm loving your optimism, but I think the issue runs deeper... ...I still think someone from CM suggested a bonus mode where you throw co-driver helmets through the rear window of a Corolla.

I am yet to visit the new Prodrive facility: seems like a pretty good reason to make the journey!
  7. Go Full Kevin - File a post-race protest against another driver for an incident caused by your own team mate.

All those vacancies and not one for onsite Subaru trivia nerd. I'm disappointed.
  9. I'd love to know what sort of lap times Oliver Solberg was posting when he drove that MINI...
  10. I don't think we had a proper 2019 rallycross thread on the old forum, did we? With more news coming about the forthcoming World and GRC Europe Championships, I thought I'd start a thread up for all the 2019 rallycross Championships. Just seen the news that GRX have confirmed three cars for the World Championship in 2019: http://www.fiaworldrallycross.com/article/10226/grx-taneco-launches-three-driver-programme Full season for Gronholm and Timerzyanov with select drives for Nitiss.
  11. Based on what was said previously (by VW Motorsport), something connected with Projekt E could be a possibility. I hope Timo is back next year, I think he has done well this year in the Ibiza and I'd like to see him make more appearances on the podium. An EKS car would definitely be a good way to do that... budget permitting of course!

Downloaded it late last night and only had time for a quick race. Seems like fun, plenty of loose and surprisingly tricky. Perhaps my imagination, but it seemed slightly smaller than real life? (Or it may just be that the TV cameras make the straights appear to be longer)

I really hope so: It has slightly annoyed me that Abu Dhabi - and I suspect Lydden - have got added into the Freeplay World Championship. I would like to see separate 2018 and 2019 Championship options in Freeplay, with the correct tracks and cars for each respective season.

Yeah, I think dropping the Focus and DS3 into the 2018 class would work best (as that way we'd hopefully get the DS3 with the 2018 Oliver Solberg livery!). I wonder if "old" liveries could be included with those cars (i.e. the HRD livery on the Focus) or if they would be out of the question?
  15. I can overlook that detail as long as it sounds right!

Agreed on all points. The cars do seem too quick, but if the 2019 cars are slower than it wouldn't be right. With regards to the Megane I thought DiRT 4 had the same problem with the Focus RS RX: for some reason a long wheelbase car seems to be the fastest! (that said I still hope they find a way to bring the Focus RS RX and DS3 into the game: though the possibility of some sort of ARX themed DLC seems highly unlikely now)
  17. I agree with @JorritVD concerning Topi: he has had some good one-off drives, but didn't really impress when he ran full seasons in the Polo and S1. I'm expecting to see Wiman back again next year, though I think more likely for odd drives rather than a full season. Would be great to see Foust return, but only if he is in competitive machinery. Last time I saw him in action (at Lydden) the car was plagued with issues. I think the Marklund Polos would be good for the ERX, but they are too outdated to be useful in the WRX now. I really hope that OMSE make a return to the World Championship in 2020. I think Sebastian Eriksson deserves a full time drive and, if the performance at Hojles last year is anything to go by (and I appreciate that conditions were in their favour), they could be real contenders.

    Toyota Celica GT-Four

Would love to see it happen, but there is a seemingly a (long standing) issue with the licensing of Toyota cars in CM games.
  19. Awww... oh well, I still want to check it out for the GT40! (And get Circuit de la Sarthe on the list for DLC! )
  20. Its called Le Mans '66 in all the territories that actually know what Le Mans is! 😄 Saw it last night and the race scenes are very well done. The film is very much like "Rush": some liberties taken with the truth, but for the most part fairly accurate. Incidentally, if you haven't already read it, pick up the book "Go like Hell": its what the screenplay was based on. I didn't know that and, now that I do, GRiD just moved up my "games to buy" list! (I assume the Circuit de la Sarthe is in game?)
  21. As has been suggested I think an RX Cartel team is a strong possibility. I wonder if they might field four cars in two different teams? Maybe Speed, Sandell, Bakkerud and Doran?

Had such high hopes for Citroën when they returned, but it just hasn't worked out. Who would have thought a couple of years ago that Toyota, whose program seemed to be all over the place in the early days, would have won the Championship while Citroën have what many consider to be the worst car in the field. And a Subaru return would be cool... but I can't see that happening anytime soon!
  23. That's a possibility, though the suggestion is that it is an issue with the engine itself rather than engine management. I understood that the ARX regulations were pretty similar to the WRX rules and, given that the Beetle (or rather accusations about the Beetle) were seemingly connected to the introduction of that ECU/software regulation in WRX, then I would be surprised if the ARX rulebook didn't copy it. If that is the issue then it is a relatively cheap problem (compared to the price of a Supercar!) to fix.

Aside from the liveries I'd expect the car to look identical: as I said in my earlier post I'd expect to see the differences in lap times!
  25. I have been trying to find out more about this. You are right that Boxer engines are allowed, but I understand that the engines in the Vermont cars don't comply with the World RX regulations: though I can't figure out why. Will keep asking and post an answer here if I get one!
