  1. This idea just cropped us as a result of the Discord group, but this is a thread purely for videos of DR2.0 in action. No chat, speculation, wishes or any other text: just post the video! (and then discuss it in the Gossip Thread) https://youtu.be/DeZsc9rMXgA https://youtu.be/sdBAc29N97c https://youtu.be/A5Z-wk8iPg8 https://youtu.be/y5qC83HFrec https://youtu.be/CNRf8a0q7Mk https://youtu.be/uOOu1RBnJlY https://youtu.be/9dpM3xJJJak https://youtu.be/LDmUZXS1oGY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tpV_5R5GhA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-2YwL6hi8o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZjuEjqVKHs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhXhTzmKKQg
  2. I don't think we had a proper 2019 rallycross thread on the old forum, did we? With more news coming about the forthcoming World and GRC Europe Championships, I thought I'd start a thread up for all the 2019 rallycross Championships. Just seen the news that GRX have confirmed three cars for the World Championship in 2019: http://www.fiaworldrallycross.com/article/10226/grx-taneco-launches-three-driver-programme Full season for Gronholm and Timerzyanov with select drives for Nitiss.
  3. I am honestly not sure what the latest version of the plan is! WRC Promoter have a lot to sort and I suspect that item might be a bit further down the agenda... ...5 Nations have opened the Supercar car up to electric cars this year. Natalie Barrett and Chris Hoy are both looking to run electric cars for the full season (if they can get the budget). Personally think that a mixed top class is - and always should have been the way - to introduce electric. Fans can get used to it and, as the cars get quicker, the top teams will naturally adopt the fastest car and switch over. Liam (Doran) took the Fiesta ERX out for a couple of laps and absolutely drove the arse off it. Slightly reassured me that they can be spectacular!
  4. Enzo Ide confirms a full season in WRX... https://www.jcraceteknik.com/en/nyhet/Enzo-Ide-embarks-on-full-2021-World-Rallycross-Championship-with-EKS-JC ...so at least there will be one car on the grid! There was a media day held at Lydden last week for the forthcoming 5 Nations Championship (and also a bit of pre-season testing). Mixture of old and new cars plus *awaits drama* the STARD Fiesta ERX. The Fiesta was out throughout the day with various BTCC and rallycross drivers giving it a go. I still can't see an electric car having the same emotional impact as a petrol car, but there is no doubt that they are quick in the right hands. Car looked way more stable in person that I thought it did on TV (though I appreciate that a lot more refinement has likely happened since the debut of the car last year). I - perhaps controversially - hope that someone manages to get the budget to run one in the UK this year, as I think petrol vs. electric could be pretty interesting.

I want it to be decent, as the current specification WRCars deserve a great game!

No worries @UP100, I did a double take when I read the post: might suggest that I have spent too much time here when I recognised the wording of a post from almost seven years ago...

I could be proven wrong, but I think the Skoda outing was more of a convenience rather than the sign of a new partnership.

The WRC Fiesta that isn't actually a WRC Fiesta. (Is a cool car though) I think they have been left very open to try and encourage entries. If the surge in R5 entries is the start of something in ARA, then I wonder if they will refine the rules more (or rather align them closer with FiA regulations).

That is an interesting one. As you have posted he finished the recent "Hoonicorn Vs. the World" series by saying that it was the "last time he'd be driving the car", suggesting that it was no longer his. I wonder if Ford Performance money paid for the build, so it went back to them? And yes, they reworked the V1 into the V2. Personally I preferred the V1 guise, but no doubt that the car is a weapon - and arguably the definitive KB car - in either form. The two Launch Control episodes about the making of that car/video were pretty good. Not sure if it was dumbed down for the purposes of the show, but some of the comments about the build didn't quite make sense though. I believe there are plans to use the car for other things, which could be entertaining.

No, I wouldn't say it is even close. Despite what was said in some of his videos it isn't one of the original Evo cars. The origins of this chassis are a bit hazy, it seems likely that it is one of the Glomma Papp rallycross cars, but that isn't certain. The car was built up to Evo specification and ran a couple of different gearboxes (and colour schemes) before going up for sale in 2014. Apparently the engine in it at that time was a Schanche built 2.3L, but I haven't seen that verified, nor am I certain that is the engine in it now (it is listed as 2.1L, but the seller may not be aware). Block has subsequently changed suspension dampers on it; so at a minimum that is unoriginal engine, ECU, gearbox and suspension... plus the car was assembled as a "bitsa" anyway. Nice profit for Block though. That car was listed for just under £100,000 in 2014... He had the "HFHV" Fiesta up for sale a few years ago (don't think it sold though). Perhaps some of the money for these cars came from Ford, so he couldn't sell them at the time? I have heard on the grapevine that the Hoonitruck has been sold as well. If that is the case then I think the only Ford he'll have left is the EsCos.

🙄 Block bashing, it's like being in a Facebook comment section. He has barely driven the RS200, though that car has had some heavy use in its previous guises.

  13. I am less fussed about Abu Dhabi, but I quite like the South African track. Not a bad selection of circuits though, enough to make a decent season in my personal opinion.

All of the above is most cool @PJTierney. The MGS series is one of, if not my most, beloved game series. It clearly has rough edges (and a messy end), but I think MGS V is an incredible game. Each title in the series has a different appeal though, even MGS2 which I was disappointed with at the time but have warmed to over the years.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I would love to see US Short Course off-road racing in a Dirt Rally game. Pro2 and Pro4 style trucks have appeared in less serious Dirt titles, but I would love to see them get a realistic representation in the same way that rallycross has in DiRT Rally 1 & 2.0... ...that said, I wouldn't want them to come at the expense of rally or rallycross content!

    Dirt Rally 2.0 is amazing

Some of the McRae Challenges are making me rage @BoringDamo! I have a handful left to do on the hardest difficulty and, although I am sure they are possible on controller, I haven't had the time to grind away at the last few yet! Really enjoyed some of the scenarios though, I think it was a very cool way to do a tribute.

Yep, you got it @SRD_SimVansevenant! Definitely agree with your point about the rim options. It is a minor, almost trivial, detail, but something that would really add to the authenticity. Ha! Although it is fugly I can understand why the S7 has appeal for some, as it was a Championship winning car and driven by a number of favourite drivers. Still can't fathom why the S14 is in there though. It has had minimal success and is, as far as I can tell, the least loved Impreza WRCar. Still think that late 2.0L WRCar slot should have been taken by the S12B. The S5 is the one I want to see back in future title(s) the most. Waited a lot of years to see it in a CM rally game, so I really hope it returns (with the right name 😉) in the next game and beyond. As discussed many times before a more appropriate class for it would also be welcomed. I do agree that adding more cars to go alongside the existing roster would be the best outcome @richie, but I appreciate that licensing costs budget money amd not everyone loves the Subaru WRCar range as much as some of us do...

By the time they put out their first official game the hybrid era should already be in full swing. Hopefully the last "normal" cars will also make it in... (Wishful thinking, but I have everything crossed that we see 1.6L WRCars in DR3)

    Achievement: Sunday Driver

I can't remember the details, but I think others had issues with this. If I recall correctly the external cameras count as an assist, so make sure they are turned off as well. I don't think the trophy description states it, but you have to win the whole event as well as the final, so you need to place well in the qualifiers and semi final to win the whole thing.

Fiesta is my fave as well. Real shame that it seems unlikely we will see the car on the podium this year.
