Ogiers gearbox found to be OK :-)
I would hate to see any driver punished for something that was out of their hands, but a part of me was hoping that they would penalize him so he would have to drive even harder to regain those points!
To be quite honest a part of me was hoping for that aswell. Ogier hunting from behind would be a nice change of pace instead. Now he's back at the lead, where he can drive comfortably as long as he beats the 2nd place in the championship. And tactical driving like that is one of his major strengths.
Absolutely. The moments where Ogier has been under pressure and had to drive on the limit have been spectacular to watch. As you say, I'd like to see that Ogier rather than comfortable driving Ogier!

Road Book is up, about Team management:

I had been hoping for more rallycross info but, having read about it now, I'm very keen to see more of the team aspect of the game!
It's coming! :) We'll in Barcelona at the end of the month, and we're hoping to do loads while we're out there. :)
You are? Sounds promising, hopefully you won't all blank me if I pass you in the pits again @ChristinaMc!
Are you there?! Promise I won't blank you - I know what you look like now!... :)
I am indeed @ChristinaMc! Will definitely be at four World rounds this year (possibly five, though number five is subject to funding at the moment!).

  5. My bet is on Grid 3/Autosport 2 as thats the only franchise I haven't heard anything about recently, probably wrong though lol
The game being developed by former Evo has already been confirmed to be a new racing IP. So not GRID.
Oh ok interesting, maybe its something similar to Motorstorm then, Baja racing of some sort? DiRTYSTORM!
You must have missed the part where Christina told us what the game was when we were having burgers!
I was down the other end of the table, missed out on this juicy goss!!
Damn, I missed that bit of gossip as well!

That's the car that was used in the US, isn't it? I always thought that "R5 2 litre" was a confusing classification for that car, as the regulations of R5 prohibit engines bigger than 1.6L, so the description seems like a contradiction in terms.
Yeah, it's the car from American rally. I think they're using R5 loosely here, because the car is working with much looser regulations than R5.
Yeah, the US "Open" regulations are much looser than their FiA equivalents!

  7. @KickUp @ChristinaMc I've been thinking. I don't know if someone has brought forth this idea or not but I still think it's worth noting. Since you're still in the licensing process and trying to get cars for your classes, you should consider adding this to the "Up to 2000cc" class:

This is a Fiesta R5, but with a 2 liter engine. Not homologated by the FIA, it should allow you to license it for your two liter class. Have you considered this?

The more I see the Fiesta the more I think it's the ugliest car in the field. The front spoiler is hideous.

Hell no! The Yaris is the ugliest by far (that isn't to say that I don't like it, it just looks like a shoe box!).

I do think the Hyundai looks good, but it's the least radical looking of all the new cars in my opinion. I was  torn between the Fiesta and the i20 as my fave looking car, but I'm still favouring the Fiesta: it just looks bonkers with all the aero!
Noo! Usually, for road cars, I hate aggressive designs such as Honda's, but the Yaris looks mean, aggressive and awesome. I love it from wing to splitter.
I don't disagree that it looks mean... a mean shoebox. Irrespective of looks, the Yaris sounds great. From the video that I've seen the Yaris seems to have the most distinctive and aggressive engine note.

I'm undecided about the best or worst looking car myself, but they do look different from each other and that shows in your opinions. There is much more diversity this year, in looks and in the results. 2017 is more of a new era than I thought it would be and this is definitely a good thing for WRC.
Absolutely. That seems to be one of the vital differences this year, the cars look unique, even to the untrained eye.

I know I have already said it in this thread, but there was so much hope last year that the 2017 season would deliver and, thusfar, I'm so pleased that it is living up to the hype. It has been a lot of years since I have been continually counting down the time until the next round.

OFF TOPIC: An original RS200 Evo - and arguably the best prepared street RS200 - is now up for sale:

    This is absolute automotive perfection...

I see your RS200 and raise you Metro 6R4! What a time to be alive and have no money.

That 6R4 is stunning... but nothing can sway me from the RS200!

    Its so pretty *___*

I have to ask though and forgive my ignorance if this is correct but it lists it as Front Wheel Drive, was this true for the street versions?
That description is incorrect @SirPhilMcKraken: all variants were 4WD. The little red lever you can see in the last photo is what controls the power split (50/50, 37/66 or full rear wheel drive).

In a lot of the road cars the linkage for this was either locked or completely removed: apparently a fully RWD RS200 was a bit of a handful!
Thats what I thought, glad I wasn't being stupid lol. The red lever power split I didn't know about though, sounds like great fun!
Ford thought that being RWD might be advantageous is some situations, so the option was included on the RS200. All the Group B cars had some clever thinking behind them, but there was a lot of very smart engineering with the RS200.
Shame it got no proper chance to really get out there though :(
Based on how well the RS200 (eventually) performed as a rallycross car, one wonders how good it might have been as a rally car if it had a year or two more of development.
