Few more pictures of the car...

...hard to gauge from these little pictures, but that looks quite bent! -
Haha! That's pretty good. I wonder if the Citroen team offered to knock out the dents for him?KevM said:

Given Meeke's input into DiRT 4, can you confirm if Your Stage will artificially generate spectator car parks for us to drive through if we go off-piste @KickUp? -
Four from four would be pretty cool to see!Dytut said:
Well it's time for Neuville, isn't it? :-)tbtstt said:
I'd Ebay it, then use the money to pay for the repair of the f**ked rear end of my car!gfRally said:Question: what would YOU do with that bumper? Have it signed? Ebay it?
I have rewatched the clip multiple times now and Meeke was so lucky, that could so easily have been a retirement there. Fair play to Citroen, the C3 may have some handling issues on other surfaces, but it seems to be a tough car.
Three different winners, from three different manufacturers in the first three rounds. Tarmac next, I wonder who will perform best? -

Pretty incredible finish to the rally. Great to see the C3 delivering on gravel and both Meeke and Neuville with a decent result. Would be good to see the top of the table close up more, but I'm perhaps being a little demanding there: this season continues to deliver on the early promise, fingers crossed it stays this way! -
Sadly not. I was actually planning to go to the opening BTRDA rallycross round at Blyton, but I have to skip it for work. Bugger!RodgerDavies said:Anyone else out on the Malcolm Wilson Rally this morning, per chance? -
Absolutely. Without ALS a turbo will be slower to spool and off throttle response will be greatly reduced. Given the new regulations, my assumption is that they are running bigger turbos for 2017, which would exacerbate the problem even further.FloatingGrass said:I'm not mechanically informed, but is the lack of ALS enough to drop four seconds on a SSS? I think that Latvala's lack of pace isn't purely related to his car. Still, go Sisu! He'll hopefully bounce back tomorrow, rejuvenated with a fixed Jaris. -

Damn spammers are persistent, I'll give them that! -
Absolutely! Piss poor planning from the organizers, stupid to deviate from the tried and tested format of previous years when it comes to the spectator stages.RallyDriven said:Ridiculous planning to have the stage so far away that the crews had to take a flight to get to it! And I know delays on the road aren't the organisers fault, but the cars should never have been that far away in the first place! -
Good shout @RodgerDavies. Perhaps it could be implemented in the form of a random "stuck in traffic" bonus level?RodgerDavies said:@KickUp
Is the game going to simulate having a 1km spectator stage to start the rally and then a randomly generated chance of cancelling half of the rest of the rally?
If not, I'm calling arcade. Or just that DiRT's organisers are much better organised than the FIA..... -
Haha! More cool stuff than storage space. What did you get? I am managing to suppress my jealously of the signed item thus far...Rallycameraman said:
No, but I got something else that was signed from @KickUp which I am delighted to have.tbtstt said:

With the changes coming to the rallycross cars (and the increase in rallycross circuits) for D4, I can't see me returning to play that on DR. I'm sure I will fire DR up again to revisit Pikes Peak and certain rally stages though.SirPhilMcKraken said:This is probably too early to ask since its not out yet but does anyone think they will still play DR when D4 is out? I think initially I may do due to VR support is already in DR but the physics in will be hard to adapt back to from D4 I imagine. -
I'm going to say no. I would personally like the cars to reflect their real life equivalents. I know that is going to result in leaderboards dominated by one or maybe two cars, but I would like the cars to be as true to reality as possible. Even if that does mean they are a bit slower than their rivals.B ) Will/should cars be balanced against each other in class or should they have performance differences (eg, should a 6R4 be competitive with a 205, a 2001 Focus with a 2007 one?)
I'm going to say Rally Germany. Based on what we saw in Monte, I think the 2017 WRCars are going to be bonkers to watch on German tarmac: I think it would be worth being there for that!RodgerDavies said:
E) Should I go to Rally Germany or Rally Zlin this year? They're on subsequent weekends and I can only realistically do one. -
Once again Neuville seems to have the speed, he just needs to avoid solid objects.sqdstr said:Neuville fastest on shakedown in Mexico

That's a bold statement from Citroen: if the car has been predominantly tested on gravel then it should be in it's element in Mexico. For Meeke's sake I really hope it does will this weekend. -
We'll have to agree to disagree there @RyuMakkuro. As you say though...RyuMakkuro said:
They did make a lot of jokes on the number plates, but those were always improvised, not scripted. Top Gear does a lot of scripting, but any number plate jokes they made was not scripted, they all been pure coincidence.tbtstt said:
As I said in my previous post the trio had a history of making jokes with number plates and, with the knowledge of history that I know both Clarkson and May possess, I find it very, very, hard to believe that neither of them made the connection. Having said that...
Also I still can't understand how some people made a connection between a number plate of "H982 FKL" and the Falkland war. First of all, when you're giving a year, it's either full date or just the tenths, aka either 1982 or '82. You don't do "982", so that automatically implies it's not a date. That sounds more like a number of a submarine or something.
And then there's the "FKL" part. If I was to shorten "Falkland" into 3 letters, it would definitely be "FLK", not "FKL" as that sounds more like "F**k lands" rather than "Falkland".
The problem is not in whether the guys looked for some number plate that relates to that war, but more on the fact that there's a bunch of Argentinians that see the Falkland war on everywhere that is British related. I wouldn't be surprised if they found DiRT to be an insult to them, because it's made by a British company...
...enough of that: now back to the DiRTy Gossip!RyuMakkuro said:But let's stop beating a dead horse and move on. So I'll jump on the rally argentina screenshots bandwagon xD

F2CMaDMaXX said:Those of you thinking they staged the number plate should watch this.

I have seen clips about the history of the car/plate before @F2CMaDMaXX. I certainly don't disagree that the plate was real @Snaky115 (I don't think the BBC would go to the lengths of paying the DVLA to falsify records!), but I don't believe that the selection of the car was accidental. As I said in my previous post the trio had a history of making jokes with number plates and, with the knowledge of history that I know both Clarkson and May possess, I find it very, very, hard to believe that neither of them made the connection. Having said that...Snaky115 said:The plate is not a fake as far as i am concerned, as its first officially registered in the UK in 1991, far before Clarkson's Top Gear started.
Sigh.
I am probably more confused by the arguments all sides throw, apart from that Clarkson, even for his monkey brain, wouldn't do things that would harm the rest of the video crew.
...I think they underestimated how violent the reaction was from the locals @KevM. Those Americans looked annoyed, but not a patch on the Argentinians. Still, did them a favour really as, aside from the attack, I found it one of the least interesting Top Gear specials!KevM said:
I reckon the whole thing was staged for television purposes. The American road trip was far too similar in its attack from localstbtstt said:
DiRTy Thread Off Topic: There is no way in a million years that was a random number plate! Yeah, but the few hateful Argentinians ruin it for everybody. We've all seen how well Top Gear's Peace Keeping soccer trip went, due to a random number on the license plate.FloatingGrass said:

Haha! Well it just occured to me that there is still a possibility that the E2 may not be a rally car: we know that there are some Group B rallycross cars in game, so perhaps the E2 will be in this class and the car in the Group B rally car class will still be the S1?RyuMakkuro said:
I'm going to miss the fact I'll not be missing the bouncing issues that the S1 has in DR xD (yep, still not touching the rally part, only rallycross, and I agree, I'm a retard and an idiot :D )tbtstt said:

Yeah, I'd like to see (and hear) some video of the E2 in action. Going to be good to see one of (if not the) most iconic car of the Group B era in game.sqdstr said:I wish they released a screenshot or some footage from the Quattro

In a lot of the road cars the linkage for this was either locked or completely removed: apparently a fully RWD RS200 was a bit of a handful!
