I love clipping snow banks and pirouetting into the trees...
...no, wait, that's my least favourite thing in DiRT Rally. -
Possibly just the clips we've seen, but I think the cars behavior in the air looks more natural in general. The changes in rallycross car handling were the most noticeable difference on the day when we saw the game last year and I'm sure they have been further refined at this point.KevM said:I know it's all a work in progress at present, but Rallycross car behaviour looks more impressive at the minute, than what Rally does. The vehicle weight & suspension travel is bang on with RX
Something that I haven't seen discussed as much is the landrush vehicles: all the RWD options felt like a real handful and I think they'll be a good challenge for those opting for the more realistic handling option. -
The Team Austria cars were in DR: though they were liveries applied to the OMSE cars rather than different models. Ditto for the Hansen and Albatec Peugeot 208's which were all liveries applied to the same model.
They have already stated that the rallycross cars in DiRT 4 are based on those from the 2016 season, so I wouldn't expect to see the M-Sport or STARD Fiestas.
The last time that the Audi S1 was mentioned there was still a license issue preventing it's inclusion. I have my fingers crossed that the official Audi sponsorship for EKS might allow the licensing issue to be overcome, but I suspect that might be wishful thinking! -
I predict that @Rallycameraman has replayed this video at least 100 times already.HodobodohovnoCZ said:I don´t know where to write this, maybe here. Did you already saw this?

Sure it won't take Bertelli long to redecorate the car with some local colours. ;)RallyDriven said:My bets on Neuville. Maybe literally, I may place a bet on it!
Am I the only one who doesn't like Bertelli's car? Not a fan of the Chrome, and I don't particularly like the bottom of it either
I don't know if I'd call it "uninteresting", but I think I can see where @dwkGravey is coming from.dwkGravey said:Still more interesting than Ogier's Fiesta though.
I think the livery on Ogier's car blends really well with the lines of the car making it look a bit less mad, where as Ostberg, Tanak and Bertelli's livery all seem to exaggerate the wild aero of the Fiesta. I personally like the look of Ogier's Fiesta though! -
Martin ran many cool cars over the years, but there is one that I covet more than any other...KingOfCoins said:Those two were the most popular ones. But I could see some of the other group b Rallycars make an appearance.
But what I would like the most is Martin Schanke's ford escort RS2000. That car is so bonkers. And it was raced in early group b rallycross

Ah yes, I recall us discussing how we both wished the placeholders for the [redacted] and [redacted] were playable so we could see how they compared against the more modern [redacted] Supercar that we tried on the day.Rallycameraman said:
I have seen the Group B RX cars and they look absolutely awesome! I can't wait to try them out particularly [redacted] and the [redacted]tbtstt said:

I want a go in the RS RX, but I really want to have a go in a Group B rallycross car. I have my fingers crossed that a certain Ford is going to make the cut...
Great post @KickUp, nice to see the transparency of the Dirt team so well conveyed on the forum. -
I think you've had enough internet for today @JZStudios.JZStudios said:
Maybe this is all a ploy implemented from the dark depths of @KickUp's subconscious mind during his questionably numerous and frequent blackouts which switch to his secret sleeper cell North Korean agent personality to get people to stop asking such silly questions... would he go that far? Why am I asking you? -
Both the M-Sport Focus RS RX and rallycross Fiesta sound absolute savage. Very pleased to see that there will be an M-Sport Fiesta in this years Championship!nystedt88 said:JZStudios said:

The short trailer reminds me of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. That wasn't a realistic racing game, but it was a very fun one! Be interested to see how this turns out.VirtuaIceMan said:Milestone officially announced GRAVEL, it's almost the polar opposite of Dirt 4, which maybe isn't a bad thing: http://gravelvideogame.com/
They do mention in the trailer something about "infinite tracks", which I raise an eyebrow at. It's not really infinite, is it Milestone? -
Hear hear. The R5 news seems to have distracted many from discussing the latest video. Every time we are shown a new clip the game looks that little bit more polished. There seems to be a lot more depth to DiRT 4 that we are yet to learn about as well...KevM said:Whilst everyone drops their Sh#t over some R5 car, I want to congratulate @KickUp & the whole team for work they are doing.
From what I have seen, DiRT 4 has made a monumental leap forward in progress from DiRT Rally, & it was/is a mile ahead of its time even today!
I'm seeing an awful lot to look forward to
...come on June: hurry up and get here! -
Fave bit of the video for me: the Focus looks absolutely spot on and, as you say, the whole thing looks like a clip from TV. Love it!Jepsertti said:Anyone else had to rewind and watch this part again to make sure it wasn't real life footage? Absolutely incredible.

Be interested to know the answer to this, as I think Block might be tied to another game?nystedt88 said:Cant wait 4 this Beast! i guess block´s skin also is available? @KickUp

Fully understood @KickUp. My post was a query rather than a critique so I hope that's how you read it. :) I want to be sure of the bundles, as I'd like another shiny steelbook to sit alongside my DiRT Rally one!KickUp said:
I don't know the full details on every pack but that sounds about right. Please understand that while the dev team are involved in hooking this stuff up we don't determine who or what gets added to packs and how they are delivered.tbtstt said:
Thanks for the clarification @KickUp. Have I read the situation with the pre-order bundles correctly as well?KickUp said:
You'll need to preorder to get the Hyundai. It may become available to purchase at a later date but for now the only way to get it is to pre order.tbtstt said:Couple of questions concerning the new pre-order information. The first one has been asked by others:
1. Is the Hyundai i20 R5 only going to be available for those who pre-order, or does the pre-order just gift players with the car sooner than you would get it by playing through the game?
2. Am I right saying that there are three pre-order packages available:
- Day One edition (Hyundai R5 rally car, unique event, livery and Founder Icon)
- Day One edition (Hyundai R5 rally car, unique event, livery and Founder Icon) plus steelbook
- Special Edition (Hyundai R5 rally car, unique event, livery, Founder Icon, and Team Booster Pack)
So the steelbook is only available with the Day One edition, not the Special Edition? -

Don't get me wrong, Kubica is spectacular behind the wheel and the clips of him on the limit were some of the best from the last few years. The man did like like driving over the limit though. Speaking of which...Scyy said:
Lol, I liked Kubica. Sure he crashed out quite a bit but that man is a true driver. Almost loses his arm in a crash and chooses to go and focus on the very motor sport that injured him. I still wonder how he would have done if he got some consistency as when he didn't crash out he wasn't bad at all.tbtstt said:
I can top both of those: imagine Kubica in a C3! :DFloatingGrass said:
Imagine the spectacle we'd get with a Camilli/C3 combo. Madness!Ferranis said:The citroen would have spun in the first corner. No Crash ;)

What a crap picture. Bet it was a right dickhead who took that... ;) Really glad to see the WD40 livery on the Fiesta R5, it's a cool looking rally car!RodgerDavies said:Might be my confirmation bias speaking, but some of the footage in that video looks more like it was using the simulation handling too.
WD40 livery for the Fiesta is an interesting one. For those that don't know, that's a livery seen around a few UK rallies in real life.
The Focus RS RX looks so good, can't wait to get my hands on it. Nice to see a little snippet of Loheac as well.

I'd really like to see some rallycross content, but then I'm also keen to see more rally...
