  1. I've said before but I personally loved gymkhana, mainly the playground rather than the actual events though. Also, the online mini games were incredibly good fun, my friends and I spent many nights playing cat and mouse, transporter and infected. Whilst there not for everyone, they can help increase the games longevity, and keep the online going
I only started playing the online gymkhana modes purely to get a trophy. I think I ended up spending as much time playing those modes as I did racing: at least with those modes you were supposed to crash into each other!

    But Gymkhana was fun.
I wouldn't go that far, but it definitely provided some enjoyment for a short period of times. Which would be a great thing if instead of the boring loading screen, we had an option (keyword, OPTION) to do the Gymkhana thing on some abandoned factory or what not. Kind of like the practice games that FIFA has for their pre-match loading screens.

A big wish list item was rally school.  Personally would love to see Dirtfish represented since they have such a unique and interesting looking playground there.  Could be a cool hybrid tarmac gravel area to just skid around for practice and car control.
Yeah, I'd love to see a rally school get added and the Dirtfish facility would be absolutely ideal. A short rally stage for shakedown and a nice wide open space for playing with the cars. As long as it's treated as an extra and not shoehorned into the career, then I'd say it would be a winner.

i think what made gk annoying was KEN THE BLOCK SHOUTING YO DUDE CHECK OUT ME ! :D

if you could just enter it without the bs layered onto it and big yanks screaming YOLO it wouldnt be that bad.some of it was fun it was just how it was presented.

it does kind of worry me everynow and then you see block in a tweat with dirt and im like sitting with my fingers crossed he never makes it into another dirt game . slowly loads his kar98k just in case :D
Block didn't do any shouting in DiRT 3, did he? Or am I forgetting something? The only annoying voice in DiRT 3 was Christian bloody Stephenson telling me how rad I am and how I need to upload to yeeeeeew tube every two minutes.

    **** that guy.

These are just opinions, and trying to use some common sense.

Well I certainly can't fault your logic. The "late" addition of VR support did make me think that they might still be developing DiRT Rally, but I wonder if DR is being used as a platform to shakedown VR support for it's inclusion in a future title (or titles).

The storm might be closer than you think.

Anyway, today after nearly 2 months, I make my return to DiRT
Now this is a proper bit of gossip. Fingers crossed for some big news soon!
placing bets on a Nov/Dec announcement for sometime later next year (trying to be realistic with release)
You think the announcement is definitely going to be for a new title rather than something additional for DiRT Rally?

@tbtstt hahaha! It was tweeted months ago with the presence of Molly Taylor on the picture, which somehow implied an Australian DLC. From then, I have been keeping my suspicions towards the upcoming content.

Oh! I'm not on Twitter that much, so I must have missed the tweet. Australian DLC was my first thought as soon as I saw the picture and your content!

  6. I'd personally love to see more rallycross tracks. 3 tracks just isn't enough for a proper tournament, or for a proper evening of online multiplayer.

Sure, more rally stages would be awesome, but there already is a good variation of different stages, mroe so with all the different cars that can be driven on them, which means you get to attack the stage in an entirely different way.
Yeah, this pretty much sums up my viewpoint as well. I would really like to see more rally content but, as it stands, I think the rallycross would benefit more from additional tracks. The "short" versions are OK, but I much prefer the "full" version of each track, so I tend to end up replaying the World Championship a lot. More "full" tracks would be brilliant, especially if CM were to pick a couple more significant tracks from the World Championship calendar.

(But if they do suddenly announce more rally content, I certainly won't be unhappy at the news!)

So, Twitter - we have a question! And it's an interesting one too... If you could add one feature to DiRT Rally, what would it be?

Just going to leave this here...
I hope this is a prelude to tomorrow's Roadbook @ChristinaMc
A big announcement would be pretty awesome, as the addition of VR wasn't the big story I was hoping for!
There won't be any big announcements tomorrow! That's not to say there won't ever be any big announcements, however...
A tease of news to come, but with no time frame specified: it's like @justbiglee never left @ChristinaMc!
Time is all relative, anyway. ;)
"Time is relative". Einstein said that. Einstein furthered developed Newtonian theories of gravity. Isaac Newton proved the theory of gravity. This can only mean one thing:

THE RETURN OF COLIN MCRAE 2.0 LOW GRAVITY MODE.

    I have two answers:

    Adding a minor feature:

    - Tweak the menu options for selecting hillclimb in Career mode, so we can use the 208 T16.

    Adding a major feature:

    - More genuine rallycross tracks.

Autosport was fun, it had some career mode to it, that I liked.  I was just drooling for a DiRT Game at the time, I should go back and play it now.

However that wasnt really my point, not even about the EVO team, but GRID and Dirt share some of the same people, if there are resources taken from DiRT then that would delay the next one.

EVO will have there own thing going and I'm looking forward to it.

hope now you know what I ment.  :)

Yeah, I know what you meant! I played a lot of Autosport to fill the pre-DiRT Rally void! I recently got my PS3 hooked back up again, so I should really revisit a few games: all my (limited) gaming time is dedicated to DR at the moment though!

With the success of DR over AS, one would imagine the DiRT series would take priority at CM? Having said that, if a new GRiD game was in the works, I assume it would have been commissioned well before the completion of DR.

I would like to see the GRiD series return in some form... but after we've got more DiRT!
Didn't DR come out a year or two after AS?

DiRT 2 is still my favorite of the series. :)

Yeah, it did. But we know that new games are in development for many months, sometimes ever years, before release, so if a next generation GRiD game is imminent, then the decision to green light it would, theoretically, have come before the full release of DiRT Rally.
We should have done some more digging and investigating when we were there!
I was too distracted by DiRT to investigate anything else!

Hopefully we'll get a call when they have something else ready for viewing.  ;)

OFF TOPIC: Did you play GRiD Autosport? HUGE step back in the right direction in my personal opinion.
When compared with Race Driver GRID, it indeed is a step back. But when compared with GRID 2, it's a step forward in every imaginable way. That game was so bad... honestly, the physics just killed it. The career there was highly pointless as well, so although the one in GA wasn't interesting, it at least was less... linear so to speak.
I preferred the disciplines included Autosport, so for that reason it's a close call for me. If they had included the Circuit de la Sarthe (and the end of season 24 hours of Le Mans) in Autosport then it would be my clear winner. The Le Mans content in GRiD just keeps it ahead though!

This also could get stalled by a EVO announcement.  I just hope there isn't a GRID bomb dropped, that will just suck resources from DiRT team.  I haven't been impressed by that series in a long while.

Well lads & lassies, anything new happening in my absence or is it same-ole-same-ole?

Same old, Kevin...  Other than a calm before the storm tweet, but but I think the storm is a long way off.  But don't call me a weatherman my predictions aren't that great.
Unless the storm was actually the VR update?
I assumed the storm was the VR update? I was actually a little underwhelmed as, although it's cool, the VR update doesn't excite me that much!

Fingers crossed the storm is actually something else more exciting!

...there were a few intruders in the paddock as well. One had a blue oval on the front...
