  1. Been clearing my camera off the last few days, so a few relevant pictures for the thread. One very cool Formula 5000 Lola from American Speedfest at Brands Hatch...

...and a few from this years 24 hours of Le Mans. Disappointingly all of my fave photography spots from my last visit to Le Mans (2014) have now been blocked off or turned into hospitality areas, Tertre Rouge was the only spot I could find that was both clear of fence and within range for my lens!

Few more shots from Le Mans here:

    If anyone is interested!

Hope so too. In my opinion the biggest flaw Dirt rally has regarding stages is that it's following the WRC callendar too much. They have an amazing oppertunity to go off the grid to do some amazing but lesser known rallies. But I can understand why they did it.
You are, right. Let DR 2 follow lesser known rallies, and have Kylotonn follow WRC ;) Amateur rallies also needs love, and some of them are really pearls/diamonds.

Do I have mention a minor American location?  You guys gotta hate me!  :)

Oh change the record @gfRally.  ;)

If only I was a tester, secret or not!

What about #thatcar, #thiscar, #thatothercar, etc? Have they all been implemented into the game yet?
I thought so? The first #thatcar was the Sport Quattro and the second hash tagged car was the Peugeot 208?

(Not 100% sure on the above though, so I await correction!)

Really intrigued to know what they have planned: is it just minor tweaks, or is there further content coming for the game?

  4. Alright, time to change the subject i think.

I'll drop some gossip for the next update. It has something to do with cars.

In all seriousness, hopefully it won't be too long before codies can talk about what they have been teasing. It's quite fun seeing it from the other side and seeing how close people get when guessing, same as when myself and a few others were lucky enough to play the game before it was announced, and gossip was at its highest!
He knows something. Talk @RallyDriven, TALK!

The RX Mini is not a 60's Mini, if that's what you mean?  It's a modern day RX Mini, kind of a custom setup.
Yeah, they said it wasn't modelled from a particular car like the rest of them, it has a Mini base, but everything else they kind of made up.
Yeah. There are a few styling cues from a handful of different Minicross cars.

The "spectator" tweet included in the Road Book did make me laugh: they do stand in some pretty stupid places in the game!
By now, I think I have more (virtual) innocent lives on my hands in DiRT Rally than in GTA V.

Haha! There is one corner on Finland (can't remember the stage) where you come over a right crest and the tightness of the corner nearly always catches me out. I inevitably run wide and, sure enough, there are a handful of spectators I always clip with the back of the car.

Instant reset. Curse the stupidity of the (virtual) spectators. Promise myself I'll heed that pace note more carefully next time. Never do.

It's not DiRTy Gossip, but it's just two days until the World Rallycross Championship round at Lydden and I CAN'T WAIT

    That is all. Carry on.
I see Tanner Foust is competing

I wonder who between "Foxy" Foust and "hollywood" Solbert will win....probably Solberg

Nice thing in WRX is that for once, Loeb is NOT dominating and he have to actually compete against others
Foust was a bit disappointing last year, I was expecting him to be a lot quicker. Hopefully he'll be back up there this year.

If the car works OK then the Focus should, in theory at least, be quick at Lydden. Plus you've got Guy Wilks in the mix. Question is, can any of them stop Ekstrom at the moment?

GT Sport looks like nothing more than the old prologue we use to get before the full GT. Still, It's Gran Turismo... so I'll get it anyway.

Been playing them for the last 17 years, no point in stopping now! Ironically, 17 years ago all I played on my PS1 was Colin McRae Rally and Gran Turismo. Come November all I'll be playing is DiRT Rally and GT Sport on my PS4 :D

Went to Brands on the saturday as was busy on the Sunday. Absolutely in love with that Vulcan. First time I've seen a GTE spec car as well in the form of two 458's in the GT Sport Club races, had no idea they were that loud. Genuinely sound like old F1 cars.
The Vulcan looked incredible didn't it? It made everything else in that Hypercar Club look tame in comparison!

  10. Call me pessimistic, but we all know what's gonna happen in the end.
Ogier is an animal when he gets into the zone. At times he looks more forbidding than Loeb did.
I fully agree with that: some of the moments that occur when Ogier is pushed are spectacular. I personally think he is way more ragged when on the limit that Loeb ever was...

...but that obviously wasn't enough this weekend: great job from Haddon! Makes you wonder, how long can Latvala (and arguably Neuville) retain their seats when you have drivers like Paddon posting results like that?

I'm not sure if a standalone RX game would sell. I think it would be targeting too small a market. I seem to remember a conversation back when I visited codies about world RX wanting a standalone game, but the guys didn't think it would work. If you think about it, everyone who wanted to buy a RX game would have bought dirt rally already. So then take off all the people who only bought it for rally and hillclimb, you wouldn't be left with many people
As much as I'd love to see a standalone sim-oriented RallyX game with cars from the 60's Ford Cortina, to the Group B rallycross cars and all the way up to the modern era, the reality hurts. It simply is too niche and wouldn't sell. It's damn shame, frankly.
Yeah. A late 80's/early 90's themed add on for the rallycross would be very well received though*! (* well it would be from me anyway!)

As much as I would love to see a full standalone rallycross game I'm in agreement with @RallyDriven in that I don't think there is enough of a market for one yet. Still, rallycross has certainly gained a lot of momentum with the World Championship now in the spotlight, so perhaps we're underestimating it's appeal.

I would personally hate to see rallycross get it's own title, fail to sell and then get abandoned from future titles. Expanded content on what we already have in DiRT Rally is what I'd really like to see at this point.
