If we could pick any location to be added to the game, then Irish tarmac stages would be my first choice!versedi said:Well it's not WRC but what the heck.
I'd love to see rally like this in DR or next title. Such a nice tarmac stage.

After watching @edgenz I want NZ. So beautiful landscapes! -
I think it's fair to say that the vast majority of pages in the first half of this thread are discussing hints and snippets left for us by Lee online!KevM said:Who is he, what's he do?

Yeah, it's a 90 second penalty. I thought I would lose less time driving with the flat, so I carried on...couger1981 said:
It gives you a option to fix a puncture but you loose about a minute fixing it.tbtstt said:
Won some stages (tarmac) in the 205 last night. My proudest moment with the game so far. Was feeling pretty good about my driving, so I then went and did the daily (Delta S4 in Greece)...dgeesi0 said:
not tried the 205 yet in finland its going to be scarey though flat out :DgheeD said:Yes. 205 at finland, pushed the limits. didnt even dare to try yellow house jump at full speed yet lol. natural instinct to brake just a bit before the jump kicks in every time.
...clipped a bank hard and got a puncture about 30 seconds in to the stage, so I then had to crawl to the finish. Went back to feeling bad about my driving!
...considering my final stage time, I think that may have been a poor choice. -

It's a beautifully built car @Darhour, it always looks too pristine to be used for rallycross! It's running a turbo charged Duratec engine, so it's also rather quick!Darhour said:@tbtstt that Escort looks unreal and too modern. Great snapshots, mate! :) -
Cheers @gfRally: it's only a hobby though, not a living! ;)gfRally said:tbtstt said:Vaguely DiRT related, but a few pictures from the second round of the British Rallycross Championship at Lydden a couple of weeks ago. Includes a few familiar cars to DiRT Rally players...

@tbtstt As always great pix, and very jealous you get to do this for a living -
Rather delayed (due to DiRT Rally arriving!), but a few photos from the second round of the British Rallycross Championship a couple of weekends ago:

Perhaps I've missed the comments (or Codemasters are cleaning them up!) but, thus far, I don't think I've seen a single negative comment on Facebook with regards to the console release. I really hope that the wider console audience like the game as much as the few of us on here do! -
The only other store I can think of that's bigger than the two I've already tried is a bit of a drive. Will have to venture that way at the weekend and have a look there! -
Alas, I have a little moan for the Gossip thread. I popped out at lunchtime and visited the two biggest Sainsbury's stores in the area to try and get the steelbook: neither had it, nor could give any clue as to where I would find it. Bugger!
My mate bought the regular Legend edition in Game though and I bought a KFC to make up for the lack of steelbook. So still a pretty successful day. -
A rallycross daily? Excellent, will be giving that a go later!RallyDriven said:Just did the daily, He'll in the ds3. Should have practiced first as I've never driven the car before, but currently 3rd fastest!
(The DS3 is the only rallycross car I've brought, so hopefully I can post a half decent time!) -
Ditto! Congrats for getting to this point @KickUp, @Hatward, @soundfx and all the rest of the team. I hope the game gets the praise that I (and I daresay most of the forum) believe it deserves!RallyDriven said:
Yep, I'm so happy to have played a small part of this!Rallycameraman said:Almost 2 years to the date since I first played DiRT Rally, or DiRT Delta as I believe it was known back then. Really hope it does well on console. There's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't.

The only host I'm struggling to come to terms with at the moment is Eddie Jordan. He has no place there: unless they intend to have a running feature on the new show talking about failed formula one teams, in which case he is the perfect choice.dwkGravey said:
Heh. The hosts are:JZStudios said:
I read they're both involved along with Sabine Schmitz, and some other retired black F1 driver guy?Darhour said:
Alright, if only they'd hired Chris Harris instead of Evans, that would give a professional touch to an automotive program; however, I doubt Chris Harris turned down the offer.JZStudios said:
I know Matt Leblanc, and unlike the American Top Gear idiots (minus Faust) he actually at least knows and races cars.Darhour said:Not a gossip obviously and of course an offtopic. Did you guys see the TG Premier Trailer? Seriously, what the hell were they thinking bringing those two fools to an amazing program? However, though, fame and greed are pejoratively embellished for us to pay no attention at all. Screw media!
Judging professionalism, Chris Harris would have been a great fit not two imbeciles who were dragged and begged by greed to present a TV program; one is a celebrity and the other one is wealthy...
Chris Evans
Chris Harris
Eddie Jordan
Matt LeBlanc
Rory Reid
Sabine Schmitz
I've talking one of the chaps at work into popping out at lunchtime and buying the game, so I'm going to go with him and see if the local Sainsburys have a copy of the steelbook! -
Anyone see the latest post on Facebook from Liam Doran?

It's a picture of his second RS200...
...and this text:
"Headed to JRM Racing HQ today to see the Mini RX SuperCar in its all new @monsterenergy#britishbomb livery and get the seat fitting done.
Might post some teasers later on, keep a look out.
For now though, here's a car that I'm dragging around the country behind me before its day out in Central London tomorrow for the official @dirtgame#dirtrally launch event!!"
Does this mean that this RS200 will be driving round London as part of the launch? I would take a day off work to go and see that! -

I know you're itching and rearing to go, but, throttle control....tbtstt said:Not Gossip (and I doubt any of you care), but I thought I'd post an update on my progress so far.
After securing the World Rallycross Championship, popping my Pikes Peak cherry and taking some rally wins in the Mini, I thought it was time to man up and try something more challenging. Group B in Finland seemed like a good idea, so I selected my ride and headed for the first stage...
...many minutes later than it should have done, I finally managed to cross the finish line: it's going to take them a month to recover all the bits of Peugeot 205 I have left in the trees.

I have indeed: I checked while I was waiting for the installation to complete!couger1981 said:@tbtstt have you seen your name in the credits yet? :)

As @KevM says you get those preview events to play while it is downloading @couger1981! I had about 24 hours wait for the whole game.couger1981 said:
Do you have Rallycross unlocked with the game code?, i have only got two rallies one with the Mini and one with the Escort.tbtstt said:
Haha! I've now done the first rally Championship and the two rallycross Championships (in Super 1600 cars) and reached the professional level. That unlocked the World Rallycross Championship and, given that I had enough money for a Supercar, I bought the DS3 and went for it...JZStudios said:
I've had the game for a year now and I've only gotten to like clubman championship with the Fulvia. :P I just do custom events.
...in hindsight that was a slightly ambitious move. An awful drive at Holjes in the wet cost me badly and I finished the Championship in the bottom end of the top 10! Decided to do the "normal" professional rallycross Championship next to build up some experience in the DS3 and unlock all the upgrades, then I'm going back to the World Championship for my title!
Bought the Peugeot 405 T16 last thing before switching off last night. Annoyingly I'm away tonight, so Pikes Peak will be my first job when I get home tomorrow evening!
In game it says 19% and now its downloading in game files or something like that. -
Forgive the double post, but breaking DiRT news on Twitter...

Well I've got a 1TB PS4 and there aren't many games on my shopping list at the moment (in fact the next one I want hasn't even got a release date yet), so hopefully I'll be OK for a while.JZStudios said:
Yeah, it kind of sucks and the old consoles didn't have that problem. You can swap out the PS4 HDD though... The new consoles are actually missing a lot that the old consoles had. Like being able to store and play music... Or in the case of the Xbone being able to stream from your PC, or playing in the background.... ehh. There's a lot missing.
Back to DiRT and, after an evening with the game, my first impression is that it was well worth the wait. The rallycross is exactly what I was hoping for. I wasn't a fan of the "short" circuit variants, but some of the alternative Holjes configurations are actually pretty good fun. Really pleased that all the cars are "open" in the custom championship from the outset, so you are able to just dive in and try the cars you want without having to do loads of career first.
Made a start on the career as well; did the first rallycross Championship in a Super 1600, then had a go at the first rally in a Mini. Was heading for a win in that Championship, but I threw it all away on the last rally. Stupid Finnish trees. I hope other console owners appreciate the experience, but I like the fact that just finishing the rally stages is an achievement, let alone posting a good time in the process! Will do the next rallycross Championship tonight, then hopefully I'll have enough cash for a Supercar and a Group B rally car.
Oh, and did my first daily (RS200 on one of the Monte Carlo stages: pretty good introduction to Group B cars!). I was actually doing quite well, but I went into one of the hairpins a bit too hot, spun the car and, in my haste to get going again, managed to mow down some spectators. Double penalty: bugger! Oh well, hopefully today's daily will go better! -
Install complete.
First custom event completed: full rallycross event, Lydden Hill, driving Solberg's DS3.
Time for a quick clean up then I'm off to Wales in a Group A Impreza.
