Looks like Meeke is going to be confirmed as driver for Citroen, with a contract for the next three years.
Based on what we have seen thus far, Citroen certainly seems to be a safer bet for Meeke than Toyota. As much as I hope that Toyota arrive on the scene with a competitive car in 2017, what has been seen of their program hasn't filled me with confidence.

Citroen do seem to have gone off the boil a bit over the last couple of years, but they are making the right noises now and, with the WTCC effort ditched, they will surely be more focused on the WRC. Great to hear that Kris will be keeping his hand in next year as well.

  2. Sort of DiRTy Gossip...

...actually, no it's not, it's just a shameless plug really. Although I haven't managed to play any rallycross on DiRT Rally, I have managed to watch quite a bit this year (along with some other stuff) so I've put a little blog together:

Might kill 5 minutes if you are bored!

In the last couple of months, no. :( I last played it just prior to the release of the World Rallycross content and the most play time I've had with it was waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in October last year at Codemasters...

...hopefully you can see why I'm desperate to play it again!
Well, they keep mentioning you on console release, so I guess there's that. Maybe you'll get VIP status.
Don't really think there would be a maybe to that.
Everyone that got called up to visit Codemasters and play the game months before it was announced was always going to be a VIP, and rightly so.
It's hard to really think what could better qualify someone for the shield..
That much was talked about way back in July.
Come to think of it, I think everyone that visited Codemasters is in the credits. I can check that and post a screen if you want @tbtstt

I believe I am in the credits! To be honest the other guys who were at Codemasters with me have put a lot more in than I did, as they have been helping since that day: they have all earned those VIP badges. As much as I wanted to help, I didn't have a decent enough computer to join them!

Fingers crossed the same credits will be ported to the PS4 and there might be a chance to earn the VIP on the consoles. At this stage - and after posting about it so much - I just can't wait to take a rallycross Supercar round Lydden: I only got to drive round it with a WRC on the day at Codemasters!

With such a positive reaction to DiRT Rally and about 200 000 sales on Steam Codies are making a really good move by bringing it to consoles.

If I read it correctly the recent co-publishing deal means that an investment will made into porting the PC DiRT Rally to PS4 XBOne. I suspect that investment will mean some new features, locations and cars.

Codies have laid out their plans for Early Access and stuck to them. Now, the DiRT team, with company's backing and funds can make it even better.

That's what I think this Legend edition will be. I think that the current owners of DiRT Rally on Steam will see their game grow when it launches on consoles in April 2016 :)
I think we need another visit to Codies HQ to make sure progress is going well on the console version ;)
This may well be the best post in the thread.
Have you actually even touched the game yet?

skyrim legendary edition means all dlc included :p hmmmmm
Yeah, but that  was a compilation released over a year after the initial game.
More akin to DiRT 3 Complete Edition.

4 months after release is a bit soon to be thinking in such terms.
Assuming it's not an error, it'll probably have some more goodies like liveries (the ones that are exclusive to VIPs & Early Access perhaps?), automatic VIP status, things like that.

At least they aren't doing a silly edition that comes with a car that never sells, becoming a PR flop.
Better not, I want to be the only VIP on Xbox one!
The VIP thing is meaningless really. It's just some letters...

...SOME LETTERS THAT I BADLY WANT BESIDE MY NAME WHEN I BUY IT ON PS4.
    No letters.
    Just an awesome shield!
    MUST. HAVE. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIELLLLLDDDD.

It always bugged me, but now I have to ask :

what is the name and purpose of the plate they attached to the front wheel on tarmac tires for the Lancia Delta ?

Those are turbofan wheels @RookieOne which, as @Rallycameraman says, were designed to aid brake cooling. They were big in the late 80's/early 90's but it was a fad that seemed to die out.

Some bloke called Ken did use them on his Fiesta a couple of years ago though...

  10. Hey guys,

Just wanted to stop by and say thank you, I can only really speak for myself now but it was glorious dancing with you all this last few years.

It was tough at times but you kept us on the straight and narrow... into five right caution overcrest tightens. :P But it was good fun and I don't think anybody on the DiRT team would argue with me in saying that you all genuinely played a huge part in making the game and I hope it's everything you wanted and more importantly that @tbtstt doesn't have to just sit on the sidelines and watch when it comes to console next year.

Thanks for looking after @KickUp, @Hatward and the rest of the guys for me :)

    Don't. Cut.
Ha! Thanks @justbiglee . Was rather frustrating not being able to contribute more after the visit last year: I have a lot of catching up to do come April next year!

Great to see you here again. Hope the "new life" is treating you well, don't be a stranger!

  11. http://www.redbull.com/en/games/stories/1331763518084/dirt-rally-pc-xbox-one-and-playstation-4-q-and-a

Interview with Darren. Basically says there won't be any difference between PC and console, although there will be some new tutorials to guide new players. Both PS4 and Xbox should get 60fps too!
    *Additional screaming like a girl*

  12. Haha thought you already had one!

Although I've been playing I haven't been able to enjoy it as my laptop doesn't like rain or night time, so I'll be really looking forward to playing the full thing again! I've only logged about 80 hours or so as I didn't want to ruin the game for when I can play it properly!
With the new house this year I have had to curtail my spending some what! I almost cracked when MGS5 came out, but I managed to resist. I cannot wait any longer to play DiRT Rally though, so once that's confirmed I'm making a purchase!

  13. http://www.videogamer.com/pc/dirt_rally/news/dirt_rally_rated_for_ps4_and_xbox_one.html

Im so happy right now! Can't wait for it to be official, @tbtstt should also be happy!

YES! I have a whole year of DiRT Rally to catch up on, the console release cannot come soon enough!

As soon as I know the release date I will order myself a PS4: DiRT Rally is the tipping point for a console upgrade!

  14. To be honest if block comes to world rx it will only be good. It will distract the Americans from global rallycrash and will bring it even more coverage. Tanner Foust should get a full world rx drive too, that would make things interesting
Foust would be another brilliant addition; he made such a great first impression when he started doing European Rallycross it would be fantastic to see him fully commit to the World Championship.

  15. Block is Fast at RX because he have the best Car, his Fiesta RX is far better than every RX car
I wouldn't say "far better", though there is no doubt it's a very well built car. That aside several GRC drivers are now in M-Sport Fiestas and Block is still faster (it's just a pity that most of the GRC tracks favour luck rather than skill).

I would also argue that Solberg's DS3 is a contender for "best rallycross car" (his is the only other car using Pipo engines) and, after the development in 2015, the Peugeot-Hansen 208 would also be up there for me.

  16. That would be interesting. I'm amazed at how much money they can spend on Motorsport!
Malcolm wilson is a Motorsport Business Man, he earns lots of money every year by selling and hiring cars, so it is probable to have a Car at RX to show how Fast his rx Car is, his rx is the one who Mr block uses, what if Mr Wilson want to use the same driver in RX and in WRC??
Yeah, M-Sport built the "RX43" that Block has used in the Global Rallycrash Championship the last couple of years. When Block appeared in a couple of World Rallycross rounds in Europe last year it was a second M-Sport rallycross Fiesta.

M-Sport also supplied the rallycross Fiestas used by Chip Ganassi Racing (and I think Bryan Herta Racing) as well.
what if Mr Wilson want to use the same driver in RX and in WRC??
He will be disappointed at the WRC results? Block can't really perform.
Without meaning to retread very old ground, I would strongly disagree with this statement. Block is a very competent driver; yeah, he isn't competitive at WRC level, but he dips his toe in and out, you can't expect him to be. At a National level he is very competent and he is very, very quick in a rallycross car as well.

I went to Loheac (for the World Rallycross) with a couple of anti-Block mates last year. Both of them were eating their words by midway through the weekend: he set an outright lap record in France that no one (including Petter Solberg) managed to beat.

In my opinion Block's PR team are both his greatest strength and biggest weakness; it is thanks to them that he is able to fund all these ventures, but also thanks to them that a lot of serious motorsport fans seem to turn their nose up at him.
