Yeah, really regretting not going now! For me this is definitely the best F1-based rallycross circuit they have added to the World Championship.
Really hope that Audi can strike back this weekend and try and level things out. Kevin Hansen has really improved his position in Q3, so he might be up there by the final.

Pleasantly surprised by Spa so far. Eau Rouge doesn't really look any different to any other uphill climb at an elevated circuit to me, but the dirt section is decent and there is enough width for passing.
The racing has been unpredictable so far and it's great to see some different names at the top of the standings: which is exactly what I have been hoping for this season.

Most of the great 80's action franchises can't be judged on the latter films: Die Hard, Terminator, Robocop, Alien, Indiana Jones... all started on high and ended up with dreadful sequels.
Alien and Aliens are both genre defining. As are Slayer.

6 hours ago, JZStudios said:Tron, Aliens, Terminator, and TNG range from bad to meh. Knight rider was dumb, not a Simpsons fan, the C4 is ugly compared to the earlier and later models, I have zero attachment to the CRX. Metallica, NWA, ...Snap? and Slayer are all pretty ****. NIN had a few decent songs.
The fact that you have mentioned both Aliens and Slayer, yet not changed your opinion is deeply concerning. This now throws every opinion you have ever had into doubt.
I won't argue with the style point, but the 80's gave us some of the greatest movies of all time (including Die Hard, the best film ever made), was an incredible period for pop, thrash and rap music, plus it gave us Group A, Group B and Group C category racing.

I wonder if that EscCos will actually finish an event this year? More mechanical woes in NZ.

I have got to Masters in rallycross, but haven't beaten it yet!

Well the latest cars were those I was looking forward to most in season one and I haven't been disappointed.
Spent a lot of time in the Focus last night and have already bested several of my 2000cc stage records. On multiple runs I think the C4 is quicker, but I find the Focus much less twitchy than the C4 and far easier to be consistent in*.
(* that said, I managed to run into a bank three corners into the daily yesterday and give myself a puncture!)-

A real livery or two would be a cool touch for the Focus, but the priority (for me anyway) is having a well modelled version of the car in game. Will definitely be putting some more mileage on it this evening!

Ha! I was getting ahead of myself there, I thought I edited that before you replied!

I'd like to see a content reveal for Season 2 first!
Really hope we get a season 3 as well though.

PC snobs deserve to wait. Especially @gfRally.

With the end of season one in sight, hopefully there will be some new cars to add to this thread soon!-

1 minute ago, Riggs said:The Focus was superior to the C4 in real life, so it's not a big surprise of it setting fastest times. It was already great in DR1 with its suspension and stability, it allows for controlled oversteers whilst the C4 doesn't.
I think the real life superiority is up for debate, I would say that the results suggest the C4 was the better car.
That said, I prefer the Focus over the C4, so I am hoping it's going to be competitive in the game.
Didn't get a huge amount of time with both cars last night (and it was late so I couldn't crank the volume right up), but I am curious to know if both cars have their final sounds or if they just have placeholders.-

Just taken the Mk.2 Focus and Impreza S14 for a quick spin. On default settings I am getting better times on gravel and tarmac with the Focus, first runs in the Focus were also very close to my quickest 2000cc times (in the C4).
Be interested to see how everyone gets on!

50 minutes ago, carpa said:That said, which one would you say is THE most iconic rally car? Any Gr.B?
I would say that the '97 to 99 Impreza is the most iconic (and most recognised) rally car of the modern era.
The most iconic rally car of all time? Few contenders there, but the Mk.2 Escort would probably be my pick.
The most recognised rally car of all time (especially thinking about those who aren't rally fans) is probably the Audi Sport quattro E2. I would definitely say that is the most recognised Group B car (which is ironic as it was the most unsuccessful quattro variant).

Now the game is out there (and hopefully making some money) perhaps there is fresh funding available to throw at more licenses?
However they do it, let's hope it is going to happen!

I have been suggesting a late 90's class for a while now (purely for the Evo VI and S4/S5 Impreza WRCar to sit in), but the only thing that occurred to me the other day was that, if the Evo VI were to be moved, they would have to reset the Group A leaderboards.
Perhaps a "Group A+" Evo VI could be added to a pre-2000 2000cc class with the S4/S5 Impreza? (the late 90's Evo VI was beyond Group A specification, even though it was still classed as Group A). Maybe an Escort WRCar as well?
Ideally we could then have something like a 2000 - 2006 2000cc class (including the Mk.1 Focus, S7 Impreza WRCar and the Fabia).
Then 2007 onwards 2000cc for the Mk.2 Focus, Citroën C4 and the S14 WRCar.
Three cars per 2000cc sub-group would br enough to justify the split and would give a lot of scope for further expansion.

Is this your first time in the Gossip thread? Reading too much into things (and frequently deviating from reality) is how we do things here! 😄

I just closed it, then found it again at will. Pretty impressive for a console peasant.

The BGM Sport slideshow of the audio recording can be seen here:

9 minutes ago, gfRally said:@tbtstt you have a direct link to that FB page, it doesn't seem to be working here. Even looked them up on FB and still doesn't come up.
Hang on, so the PC master race are unable to find a link? I just found it with a single click on my phone @gfRally. Simple as that. I'm looking at it right now.

7 minutes ago, gfRally said:@tbstt I think they should have a "peasant console player" achievement. Don't worry no PC players can achieve it. 🙂 Sorry, haven't jagged you in a while.
I haven't got time for your nonsense today @gfRally: I am just recovering from the barrage of 22b-baiting from yesterday!

First official look at the 2007 Focus WRC and 2008 Impreza S14 WRC in action:

Given the quality of the last few additions (specifically CotA and Abu Dhabi), I had low expectations for Spa. Fair play to the organisers though, it looks cracking!
Fantastic to see a proper deep dirt section that hasn't been swept clear.
Fingers crossed for some good semis.
