Are we all still talking about the 2 locked cars for this week? Is it not already known they are both 2000cc cars? Confirmed for reasons...

Well I (along with everyone else I think!) had automatically assumed that they were new additions to the 2000cc class, however a post by @gleylancer571 in this thread:

Says that the Impreza is in R4 @Mike Dee: so there seems to be some confusion!

All this talk of S14; I know it's the Subaru but whenever I see S14 I think of this:

    Image result for s14

Guess I've been around Forza for too long :classic_laugh:

To be fair, the Nissan is the original S14! If you are going to post an S14 though, at least post one with a proper front end...

Thanks @gfRally i thought they name separated earlier, guess not.

I just double checked and that's correct @F2CMaDMaXX. I can't find an exact date, but UK performance variants (i.e. WRX and WRX STI) had definitely dropped the Impreza from 2010. I was 100% sure it was earlier than 2015 as one of the local club guys bought a hatch around that time and I remember him telling everyone that it wasn't an Impreza!

The name wasn't dropped from all markets until 2015, which I assume is where @gfRally is getting his date from. With that in mind, I will cancel my alternate theory (because, even if it was 2008 in the UK, the UK market alone was too small to influence the look of the car) and return to my original thought...

I have always assumed it was a case of function over form.

...the hood scoop was purely aesthetic on most of the Impreza WRCars and, with the focus on aerodynamics, I would guess that is why it was dropped.

the impreza name wasn't dropped until the 2015 model where they separated the branding to wrx / wrx sti

None the less, the hood scoop for a long time was an obvious turbo designation for Subaru.  From the legacy to the forester, all had hoodscoops for their intercoolers.  However, I think some of the 90s era subarus had small slits on the hood that were n/a.

Requardless, its odd they would remove it on the 2008 model.

hmm.. do I actually know something more than you?? 🙂

I could be mistaken, but I think it was dropped from some markets sooner than others, I think the UK was one of them...

(...or I might just be getting the dates mixed up in my head!)

Completely ruined it by deleting hoodscoop (yeah I know its the WRC model) but still.   Dashed my hopes of a American Rally skin.

Side note:  Actually never understood that Subaru marketing, at that time, would allow them to delete the iconic scoop.

I have always assumed it was a case of function over form.

Now I think about it though, the Impreza name was dropped from the performance models in 2008, wasn't it? The Impreza was the non-turbo (non-bonnet scoop) hatch, maybe that's why?

nooo, why the s14?? it's better the impreza 1998/2005...wrc why codies remove lot of important cars from dirt 1 like 037,306,impreza,focus 2001..

I know the S14 has a few fans, but I think a lot of people are curious to know why the hatch was favoured as I would say its the least requested Impreza WRCar.

Perhaps @ChristinaMc might be able to get us an answer at some point!

Here's a cheeky look of the 2008 Subie coming in the next weeks. Can't seem to find it online anywhere yet. Looks stunning 😍

I am not that big fan of the S14, but it looks awesome in that shot!

I assume the DS21 trophy can be unlocked in freeplay?

the better the car, so longer it will take to fully upgrade.   a H2 rwd  for example is fully upgraded very fast.

The rallycross Supercars all seem to take forever. I am struggling to make it to the semi finals in the basic car, so I am only doing the four heat races on some rounds.

I think I am going to end up doing the whole Masters Championship, getting demoted back to Elite, then running through that again in order to get enough mileage on the Polo to fully upgrade it.

  8. I wish there was a way of racking up the mileage quicker (or bring the requirement down) in order to fully upgrade the cars.

I have got the maximum engineer perk paid for, but I have started a rallycross Championship in a new car and I am having to crawl through it just to put mileage on the car.

  9. Dropping rallycross tracks in pairs would be brilliant if that was the case, as that would likely mean that both the rally and rallycross fans would get more content in season two.

Although I am not keen on the CotA track I do hope that CM complete the World RX track roster as that means we'd get Riga and Estering.

Hopefully season 2 news starts coming soon: I am anxiously waiting for Group B rallycross news!

this is some great  camera visual  😍

I hate dubbed music, even on drone videos! It's good, though I might be keener if I knew if it an authorised video (drones are a major bother at work, so seeing unauthorised drone work is pretty annoying).

Best drone video I have seen recently:

Yeah, I know it's not rally, but this is mighty impressive drone/camera placement in my eyes.

That's some great news if it's true. Out of those 9, take 3 for the remaining 3 DR1 rallies (Finland, UK and Greece) and the hipotetical 4 remaining WRX events that are missing to fulfill the RX calendar. That leaves us with 2 extra locations. Could that be Corsica and Portugal/San Remo?

    Ireland hopefully!

+1 On the Subaru Legacy, what a cool car! Anyone know why such an excellent and iconic vehicle hasn't been put in DR1 or DR2.0 yet?

It's Group A, therefore it is awesome and should be in the game!

(I can see how it would conflict with the Impreza and has been overlooked though: the main purpose of the Impreza was to address the size issue of the Legacy)

I think the problem is just with Codies. They were in AC and some other games.

That's as I understand it as well. My theory is that at Codemasters someone cracked a joke about including a turbo cheat.

I have just thought of another variation on your list @gfRally: if we could get some sort of Solberg tribute pack then they could use it to bring the DS3 back to the rallycross Supercar class!

Kevin Hansen looks like he can challenge his brother. he's not quite as quick, but he's closer than almost everyone else in the championship. I think they will both be top-3 at the end of the season, unless they get as unlucky as Timmy was last year....

I hope Kevin does well this year, as he has frequently found himself in inferior machinery the last couple of years.

I thought the 208 was fastest car on track last year, it just wasn't reliable. If they have resolved the reliability issues then the Hansen MJP cars are going to be the ones to beat this year, just hope they don't run away with it. Spain should be very interesting as I think it will give a better gauge as to the relative performance of all the teams.
