1 hour ago, JamesMcAdam said:@RallyDriven Which comments from Bakkerud to Kevin Hansen are you refering to ?
I think that he is talking about the press conference from Friday @JamesMcAdam:
A comment about bumpers and the next time they were in the cars Andreas ploughed into Timmy! As I said in my previous post I have never really warmed to Timmy and, although it was a rubbish way for his weekend to end (and I wouldn't want to see him injured), it's hard to feel that sympathetic for him when he torpedoed that Megane at Estering last year.
I thought there was some smart driving from Liam, the move he pulled on Timerzyanov in the semi-final was great. Let's hope it lasts.
The landing from the jump looked really hard on the cars. I know there was a clip of Bennett nosing in on the landing during the press day, so I guess they had made some changes, but it still looked pretty rough.
I read some interesting comments with regards to the track design over the weekend, I didn't know there was more than one company involved in the design of the various "new" rallycross tracks, would explain the difference in quality between some of them!-

They never have been: you buy an Alfa Romeo with your heart, not your head!

I was quite a big fan of Andreas but he’s really disappointed me this weekend with the comments to Kevin Hansen and now this. Hope they’re both OK, but I can’t see either cars going again today.
Big shame for Bennet, really not what he needed. Dorian looks reasonably quick but as usual he’s just over driving and losing time in battles
Bakkerud has always been overly aggressive, that said I thought he looked genuinely shaken when interviewed at the start of Q4 so I am inclined to believe it was a genuine mistake.
I am not a massive fan of Timmy Hansen, but that was a rubbish way for his weekend to end.
As for Bennett I admire what he is doing but, even with deep pockets and an all-privateer field I think he is out of his depth. I still think he should have gained more experience at a National level before attempting the World Championship.

Despite my reservations I tried to watch Q1 with an open mind. The circuit seems utterly bland so far, hopefully there will be some closer races in Q2 to make things more interesting.

I am actually a little bit disappointed by the RX Cartel livery: looks a bit plain.
My money is on Bakkerud for this weekend though!

Don't ever recall a C4 being out on a UK national event but I could be wrong
I don't recall seeing that many C4's in European events either. Lot of Mk.1, Mk.2 and Impreza WRCars in private hands though!

Yep, that's right @ianism, Estering is a standalone European Championship only round.
There have been hints at a split of the World and European Championship coming for a few years now and I thought that Estering this year was the first sign that was happening. With the recent developments concerning the electric future of the Championship though, I wonder if that is less likely now. -

If that car had seen a few more seasons use (and development) then I think it might be viewed differently.
It should definitely be on par with the Citroen and the Focus. It's results at the top level weren't great, but in the hands of privateers it's had some success (I am actually curious as to which of those three cars has had the best results post-WRC: I think it might be the Focus). -

LHD conversion is mentioned in the advert: would think that would be more appealing for a buyer in Europe!

Yep, that sounds like a pretty accurate description of Alfa ownership!

Hope it's nothing major!-

I have previously said that the S14 Impreza WRC is one of my least favourite iterations of Impreza WRCar, but I just saw this on Facebook...

...I hope CM include a plain grey option when the car arrives in game: this looks properly mean!

Actually pretty good. It's not as open as Lydden (few tracks are!), but it's much better than I was expecting. There are grandstands on the outside of the start line/turn one, you can view from the exit of turn one to turn two behind high fencing and the entire section between turn two and the jump just has a low fence, so you can view and take pictures all the way along there.
Not sure if anyone is interested, but I have written a preview for the 2019 season:

And here it is : a dedicated EWRX split from the supercar's one.
I'm ok with this and pretty happy that they will separate it.
Makes you think that they really should have started with this, then built it up to replacing Supercars, doesn't it?

Hmmm, probably not that long. I have only done the first couple of Championship levels in rally and rallycross. Most of my play has been in freeplay.

Latest word is that the deadline for manufacturers to sign on for electric has passed and no one has signed up, so the introduction will likely slip further back than 2021: or be completely abandoned.

The greatest audio sin of Polyphony thus far was attaching the most bland engine sound on file to the E2 quattro!
I am glad they have made big audio improvements in GT Sport.

It'd be really neat if they had some sort of editor so you could layout your own tracks and obstacles and share them on the workshop or something. Just having the empty area is fun for a few minutes but gets boring pretty quick.
Yeah, despite saying that I am not bothered by their return I know I'd play through them all to get golds! As you say, it's another way to improve car control...
...sometimes though, I just want to drive flat out and do some unnecessary big slides!

At times, it felt more like a rally management game than a rally driving game to me. I'm glad DR2 returned to a simplified system similar to DR1's.
Yeah, I agree. Would be cool to see the livery editor back, but I REALLY don't miss having to constantly renew engineer contracts and pick new sponsors every few races.

I wouldn't want to see huge amounts of resources committed to it (and I don't care about all the "block smashing" and time trials and all that), I'd just like to see them bring the basic (plain) environment back from DiRT 4.
Yeah, time trial is really good for working on lap times, but there just isn't room on any of the stages to play around with the cars.

Yeah, especially not if you're a driver who hasn't been shy about trading paint in the past...
