Will there be any Codemasters presence in Mettet this weekend @KickUp/@ChristinaMC?
Yup - Product Manager Andy Gray will be out there :)
Cool, will keep my eyes peeled for him! -

...round two of the British Rallycross Championship at Lydden...

...round three of the British Motocross Championship at Canada Heights...

...and round two of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup Championship at Brands Hatch...

if im honest im surprised they havent let porkhammer do some footage.i d obviously do some aswell if it was needed.i think many here from the sim side want to see how it is in action.as some have said already people want to see if anything like dirt 2/3 handling is in there.which is too easy.
overall seen some great stuff from the video they were terrible though.also on sweden the track width was close to double of dirt rally.you could see on play back you could fit two stratos side by side.which i cant remember that in dirt rally.
as we get nearer release i do expect to see more media so hopefully we push a bit more of the sim side now aswell.
i know if i was doing it i would show one stage from each location rallied cleanly / decently with sim handling with different weather in each if possible. also on pc as graphically it should be better.
Where and who gets codes is down to our Publisher and not us. We are hoping to showcase some of the stuff that you guys have been asking for soon. I think @ChristinaMc maybe asking for requests on the lead up to this but I don't want to speak on her behalf as I am not 100% sure on the plans.
Correct - our publishers will take the lead on code distribution, but I will have some scope to influence this/get some codes of my own. :)
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
When in Rome...!
Was hoping someone would get the reference! :D -

Another great article at RedBull

I'm more interested in the article below about PC2 since I know everything in the D4 one already xD
Now with that new tarmac / physic model in place, what are the chances that Dirt Rally gets a final patch for the tarmac physics? Pikes Peak is calling :p
As much of a chance as Ken Block winning the WRX Championship ;)
Ooooof.

I'll hopefully be going to Lydden Hill for the WRX so assuming CM are going to be there, I'll try and get some footage (won't be direct capture, just camera fyi)
See you there!
I'll hopefully be going as well, but probably only Saturday as it's my grandads 90th birthday on the Sunday!
Excellent, hopefully see you there! -

Im wondering if anyone knows if the new Audi in Dirt 4 (the yellow and white one with spoilers everywhere) is supposed to handle pretty much the same (or identically?) to the one in Dirt Rally that it is replacing? I think it has a shorter wheelbase for one thing, so Im imagining it might feel quite different.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RKFLkP-WEM&t=115s
The wheelbase of the S1 (the car in DiRT Rally) and E2 is the same. Aside from the aerodynamics, the E2 was a different car under the skin: the engine was revised and the drivetrain (including the gearbox) had been altered, so it's a very different car to the S1. According to the drivers of the era, the E2 was a right sod to drive, so it should be fun in DiRT 4!

Two or three things occurred to me:
1. The car seems to counter the oversteering easily. Curious which handling model is it?
2. No Alpha Build notification - are they testing Beta version already?
3. The lightning looks awesome on the asphalt.
2 - I don't think so. Looks like the game went gold and they have a "final" build. Plus it doesn't say anywhere "Work in Progess" and there's this too...

Diving into a pool of gold from that height would hurt like all hell.

Well, then let the console will be 15 or 16 km and on the computer let them make 100 or 200 km
It's not that much a question of 'Could it be done?' but rather 'Should it be done?'.
Agreed. If I remember rightly the WRC currently limits maximum stage length to 80 kilometers and even that would be a huge challenge for gamers. 100 - 200 Km is, in my personal opinion, an unrealistic and rather ridiculous request. -
Didzis said:
How would a 200 km stage be fun?
Most of the current WRC events are between 300 and 400 KM in total, so two 200 KM stages and you have just done a complete WRC event! :D

I know I have said it before but, as it's the current theme of the DiRTy Gossip thread, I must applaud the DiRT team for their openness on the forum. It's very rare to see a question posted on here that goes unanswered and even better to see minor (or perhaps major!) tweaks made to the final product as a consequence of what is said.
I have recently made a couple of posts on the Ubisoft forum concerning potential patches for the new Ghost Recon and the frequency - and vagueness - of the official responses is pretty much the polar opposite of what we see here. -

Off topic, but this is actually getting me excited for Landrush
Stadium Super Trucks are absolutely hilarious to watch, I'm so glad they resurrected the concept, as they have provided some great racing! -

Or maybe Bertelli, if he can keep it on the road...
This has to be the most optimistic thing I've read this year! -

I'm still debating between which version of DiRT 4 to pre-order: I like the idea of a shiny steelbook, but the Special Edition gets more extra in game bits...
Both :P
The new website hyped me even more. Specially:RaceNet is better than ever before with the Pro Tour ladder and cross-platform leaderboards with more to come post launch.
Haha, good solution! At the moment I'm thinking I might sacrifice the extra bits for the steelbook! Be nice to know what the unique "facilities" for the game actual comprise of. -

Some great liveries on some of the cars in that clip; Dubourg's DS3 and Chichirets MINI rallycross cars look fantastic! -

I personally think music is really important in games, dirt 2's soundtrack was so good and really set the tone of the game. A good soundtrack adds a lot to a game. Dirt 2's is actually one of my all time favourite game soundtracks, closely followed by Skate 2
Yeah, I'd say that DiRT 2 and DiRT 3 both had strong soundtracks...
...but I'm still turning the music volume down to zero in DiRT 4!
(The last game I remember leaving the music on for was Tony Hawks Underground 2) -

@KickUp
when are we going to see real gameplay from spain and sweden and all other rx maps...i mean its about 1 month left and we have not seen so much?
Shouldn't be too long. That said it's not up to me.
is the car list we seen this far the complete one or is it more to be revealed?
I'm guessing it is pretty complete. (I don't know what you have seen)
This is everything we have seen so far. Any surprises to come? -
Some good achievements in there, torn between The Inbetweeners and Days of Thunder references for my winner!
