  1. The handling in general is quite nice and a big improvement on 2019... but on F1 2020 the mechanical grip at the rear has become even more floaty, less grippy and annoying at the same time. In this onboard you can see Bottas accelerating hard and quickly out of every corner without wheelspin. On the game we would spin at least 4-5 times during this lap. Important to note that this was his 2019 pole lap and this week they should be even more planted and much faster. To me, it seems like Codemasters has increased high speed grip and downforce but completely forgotten about the low and medium speed corners. Too little feel, too little grip and random spins that 1) makes it less fun to drive 2) artificially harder 3) makes racing worse as you can't accelerate out of corners if you're fighting and not on the ideal racing line. Maybe this is one for @David Greco CM to answer. Would love other people's opinions on this as well.

    Unrealistic and annoying throttle application

100% agree with what you said and that's the main reason I created this topic. Some tracks are fine, others are painful. Hairpins in general (or China/Zandvoort) are very bad. I'd also extend this to other entry level Thrustmaster FFB wheels (TMX with T3PA pedals) as an example. I watched a lot of footage and live multiplayer test sessions with people that use Fanatec wheels, the whole rear and overall balance looks much more stable for them.

    Unrealistic and annoying throttle application

Nailed it. Maybe someone has advice if I can do something with my wheel seetings to fox the throttle/acceleration issue? I'm using a Thrustmaster TMX Pro

    Unrealistic and annoying throttle application

That's fully justified and I'm glad that you are listening to real F1 driver feedback and will further improve the handling during F1 2020's game cycle. Did they also not say that 2019's medium TC is similar to the real world traction? IMO we are still slightly behind that on the current game. It's important to me to mention that I wasn't trying to say that the handling sucks. Overall it is a huge improvement from 2019, though the aspect for low speed corner (mechanical) grip and the grip on kerbs on acceleration is slightly underwhelming and hopefully you can look into that. 👍 As you said the onboard video isn't the real telemetry but a good indication and also on F1 2020 onboards it's clear to hear and understand how the engine REV + throttle application is behaving and being used.

    Unrealistic and annoying throttle application

I know it's not comparable but in terms of practice time... it's not like I'm a very bad or inexperienced player. I've done over 500 league races since F1 2013 in 2014 and spent several thousand hours on these games. On F1 2018, my first F1 game on a wheel, I immediately had a much better feel and feedback for the throttle. I know what I'm talking about. The people I play with (also on a wheel), very talented and some even esports caliber drivers, all share the same opinion, that the loss of traction is way too abrupt, there isn't much feedback and a modern car F1 car shouldn't be driven the way we do at the moment.

    DRS zones in Zandvoort

I think it was a possibility but the FIA never got to fully confirm the actual DRS zones. When Covid-19 arrived Zandvoort was off the discussion anyways.

The biggest problem in f1 2020: tracklimits

I'm 100% sure you agree with me that the reason we race and drive F1 cars is to go as fast as possible and not drive within some limits and make sure you win by not getting penalties. It's a joke. I could easily cruise around the track and give away at least 0.5sec and get no penalties but what's the point? No fun in not pushing in a quali session. In a race I could understand it a bit more. In a league situation it sucks and is simply just annoying.

The biggest problem in f1 2020: tracklimits

This video is a very good example. And these scenarios happen at every track! Austria, Belgium, Spain... doesn't matter. The edge of the kerb should be defined as the track limit. Like in real life. The current system is broken and way too harsh. It makes no sense. Unfortunately the kerbs at most tracks are outdated and not the real ones, too... I think about track limits more than my actual driving, which takes a lot of fun away from actually competing online.

    Slipstreaming

Thanks for clearing this up. But how about the slipstream? I think by now almost everyone can agree and see with their own eyes that it's too weak on the game and plus the dirty air (which is fine) is produces these trains and the only way to fix it is to make the slipstream effect more realistic and basically much stronger than it currently is. Slipstream in real life is even more powerful than DRS. You see cars passing each other by sitting right behind another car in the slipstream while the car ahead has DRS opened. You could use the slipstream as a tool for racing if you have the race craft and intelligence/experience of how to do it. Otherwise the racing online becomes very dull with a competitive field.

Suddenly everybody is so quick ? Why

Yeah. Sorry to tell you but those are not fast lap times. Looks like you have gotten slower on 2020 or just always had a wrong impression of yourself.

    More Tracks Please (Classic)

I'm fully convinced that it is possible to have classic tracks from the past when there are also classic cars in the game (since F1 2017!). Only difference is that circuits are more difficult to do with more work and effort - which in my opinion is the main reason why we've not had classic tracks since F1 2013.

    Historical F1 cars

2004 BAR Honda 2005 McLaren 2009 Toyota 2010 Renault 2011 Red Bull 2011 McLaren (Or even some more KERS cars from 2012) These 6 are the ones I'd like to drive the most

    Radio menu active too long

While watching F1 2020 gameplay I noticed that the radio menu stays open for 8-10 seconds. Sometimes I press it without actually wanting to ask Jeff for information or press X by mistake. In my opinion that's way too long and I'd like it to be personizable between (for example) 3 and 10 seconds.

Request: Turn off reliability issues [online]

Anyone heard news on this or seen this suggested/mentioned elsewhere?
  18. I've been league racing since the F1 2013 days and have done over 450 races... never did I experience so many reliability issues on my car than on F1 2019. It's mainly the rear wing/DRS... in the last 3 races alone my DRS failed twice on me for 5-7 laps (Russia/Mexico) and it's just not fair and really annoying. We practice a lot but keep getting robbed of a chance to win thanks to something so unnecessary. Takes the fun away. In Mexico yesterday it was even worse because from the moment it failed on lap 4, my rear was uncontrollable in sector 2, I wasn't sure why until I realised my DRS was stuck open and I had no rear downforce, almost crashed and took someone out but was lucky to safe it. On lap 11 it suddenly fixed itself and the car was stable again.... cost be 5-6 seconds and the win in the end. Here comes my request: We should be able to deactivate car defects/reliability issues in the settings alongside the damage settings. Thanks!

I have a question/problem regarding this and sent @BarryBL a private message. Or should I send it to you as well.

Request: Turn off reliability issues [online]

Yes and it actually happens quite frequently. Can't say for sure but I'd say at least one person at every race? I've had DRS failiures 3-4 times in the current season (18/21 races done) and it can happen at point. During Qualis, early or late in the race. Duration is also variable. It cost me 2 chances at a win and I ended up close 3rd on both occasions because I had no chance to make an overtake thanks to DRS trains... I was simply stuck. Hopefully @BarryBL can see this and bring it forwards to the devs.

You mean you will change it for me or is it done automatically? I was just confused because I have this still shown below. If it's nothing to worry about, thanks!

    F1 2020 BETA - Process Closed

I have a problem. I changed my Gamertag last year and where it says "Please enter your Gamertag for your preferred platform". My old Gamertag was GestirnZinker97. My new and current GT is: TSR Zinker, idk how I can change it. Everything else worked.
  23. I'm sure most of you have noticed it at some point anyways, but if you haven't, you shouldn't be surprised with all of this... after all Codemasters still hasn't realised the addition of the 3rd DRS zone in Singapore. Some tracks change from year to year. Have they ever implemented a resurfaced circuit, removal of bumps, changes to the kerbs, DRS changes, pitlane changes (and many more things) in time for the correct game either at launch or post-release (France pitlane took them a while)
  24. Good to see these changes and the performance patch coming... Very happy that the cars are becoming faster to handle more realistically as well (should have a bit more mechanical grip as well, especially on traction) But hopefully the slipstream will be made a bit stronger because after seeing the F1 races in Austria, Silverstone etc the slipstream effect is much more powerful than DRS this year.

PETITION: OFFICIAL TV GRAPHICS FOR F1 2019

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Like the person above my original post has shown, that's what I'd love the HUD to be. But I think it will be a slightly toned down and slightly limited version. (For spectator and actual gameplay) Don't quote me for anything, I'm just saying what I heard in videos and read and saw on the internet. Would love to find out very soon!
