    What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS

    I agree about leaving tire wear as it is.  Re-introducing that to F1 2013 was by far the best thing about the game.  Please don't change that again, Codies!  Unlike F1 2012, F1 2013 races are once again about strategyin addition to the racing which is exactly how Formula 1 should be.

    F1 2013 Feedback Thread

    F1 2013 is the best from Codemasters yet, but it's still severely lacking in any sim elements, particularly in terms of track realism (laser scanning), physics, handling, setups, and force feedback.  Though PRL possibly host more F1 2013 leagues than anyone, we've seen a remarkable number of people leave those leagues to join our iRacing leagues.  F1 2013 acts like a stepping stone for so many to get to a sim, but it should position itself to be the end game.   It's also long overdue for a graphics upgrade, and now that we've got the PS4/Xbox One and the PS3 and Xbox 360 are not holding back the PC, I expect something on par with Project CARS and Forza 5.  Graphics certainly aren't important relative to the things I mention in the opening paragraph, but a large percentage of gamers do look to that first.   Finally, the online element of the game feels largely neglected, and the lag and sync issues have been a constant source of frustration, so I hope there is a focus in this area with the new game.  If Codemasters are going to retain the F1 license for the foreseeable future, some effort needs to be put forth to provide dedicated servers, and to provide some of the multiplayer features that we’re familiar with in other racing games/sims.
  7. While I would like to see them focus on the core elements of 2014 rather than classic mode, if we're bring back more classic circuits, I'd like to see Zolder.  If you aren't familiar with it, I'd describe it as a cross between Monza and Montreal.  One of my favorites.

    Here's my current F1 2014 Wish List: Fix the controls so controllers aren't faster than wheels Allow results to be exported on PC, or have a feature that automatically publishes results online (can then be downloaded in text or csv format) Allow the host to define grid positions for online races (necessary when there's a restart, or for applying grid penalties) Use dedicated servers instead of P2P Create a realistic handling, physics, and force feedback model (see iRacing) Laser scan all tracks so they're not flat/dead surfaces Real world setup values and not a 1 to 11 scale Add a Force Cockpit option for online races 22 Player Grids Pit boards and a better race engineer so we can turn off our OSD Fix corner cutting (4 tires outside white lines = warning or penalty) Bring back the ability to setup several online races at once where the results from one would deteremine the grid (or reversed grid) for the next, as per F1 2011 Graphics that are at least on par with modern titles like Forza 5 and Project CARS Keep the base setup constant for each track - just show us what values have been changed Manual Pit Stops Realistic damage model With One-Shot Qualifying, show the weather forecast for the race. Online practice sessions, and the ability to practice with online settings in single player.

    F1 2014 will definitely be on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.  I'd say there's a chance it is also still on PS3 and Xbox 360, but I'm not really expecting that.  It would probably be wise to develop for Wii U as well, but not really expecting that either.
