    DiRT Rally - Out Now

Did you happen to run the graphics benchmark? I think that's why we, and others, are getting this error. That's an interesting theory... let me try it with mine.  I haven't run the benchmark at all, so that hasn't caused it.

Oh well, guess that's why it's early release.... kinda unplayable until my co-driver starts talking #firstbug Just watched a video online so I know what I'm missing.  Before the lights go out, my co-pilot does the count down, then he never talks again after that.

Hmm, I didn't mess with any audio settings or the co-driver call setting.  Your co-driver is talking to you?

    DiRT Rally - Out Now

Just emailed this to a friend: Since they just moved DiRT3 to Steam, and gave away all the DLC for free, I've been playing that a lot, so have a good baseline to compare to.  I started DiRT Rally with my DiRT3 wheel settings (G27), and in the 60's MINI Cooper S it was giving my wheel much more of a workout than DiRT3.  Will need to turn down to reduce the noise and keep my girlfriend happy.  I was quite impressed with the force feedback through.  Definitely had a good feel for what the car was doing, and felt especially cool when the car got some air and the steering went light.  Menu's/options are very similar to DiRT3, so parts of it don't feel that new.  Graphics are quite improved (though maybe I was expecting a little more), but with max settings on my GTX980 @ 1440p (ROG Swift), I saw FPS in the 50's at times.  Maybe just not optimized yet?  I had no complaints over the arcade/sim balance of DiRT3, but this definitely feels more sim like, and I struggled on my first rally..... even finished the stage without a right rear tire haha.  Annoyingly, the co-pilot isn't talking yet, so I don't know what turns are coming up (when will that be implemented).  That might have been the bulk of the struggles.   Just one stage so far, so consider that VERY early impressions.

Any chance of F1 201x being Early Access in the future?  I think community feedback would really help iron out some of the bugs we've seen in the past.

Haven't really got up to speed on this yet, but first glimpse makes me want to say well done.

    Announcing F1 2015

Still a thing. :) Does this include both online and offline? Or just online? Both! As @giommino mentions, I don't think there's replays in the multiplayer races, but if you're in Practice/Qualifying you can sit in your garage and watch a live feed of the other players, or AI if you're in single player. While watching a live feed of other players is cool, I can't help focus on:  No manual starts.  No manual pit stops.  Now no online replays either?!?!
  9. moogleslam

Is there manual starts or not?

What do you mean exactly?..., Do you mean put the car in 1st gear before the start or exactly when the lights go out? ...there isn't the use of any clutch so... And can you clarify that there won't be 'jump starts'(Penalties), as mentioned within an interview, he did mention you would be penalised for the jump start. Before the start, during the light sequence. You don't get a special boost to your launch if you time it for when the lights go out or anything like that, you just put it in gear and then the starts work like they have in previous iterations. I'm curious where this "quote" came from, as the guys who gave the interviews seem pretty convinced they didn't say anything about jump starts! So most likely they've been misquoted, or possibly someone misspoke but there are no jump starts this year. Ugh, terrible news.  It was in a foreign preview, and Google Translate's English version clearly said manual starts.  I doubt Google Translate got it wrong, so I assume the preview did.  Can't really be bothered finding it again.  How hard is it to program manual starts and pit stops?  Every other sim has it!

Yes, lots.  Here:  http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/comment/77692/#Comment_77692 Another question not on the list you link to: 24. Will co-op still feature in the game ? If so please add some information My questions are all focused on improvements for league racing (we have ten different F1 2015 leagues - see my signature :)), but I certainly understand that some answers about co-op are important to some! :)

If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend joining a league to get away from the horrific antics of other racers in public lobbies.

I have decided, that I hate DRS.

Not liking DRS isn't an issue with the game - it's an issue with Formula 1.  Codemasters should accurately recreate the game, so DRS needs to be in, and I don't even see a need to make it an option; that would be like not allowing 3 point shots in NBA 2K.
  14. With a June 12th release date, we should have all our leagues underway by the end of June!  Not long to go! :)

    Announcing F1 2015

Below are the 20 questions I posted on page 2 of this thread (with 3 more questions added on at the end).  I’ll try to answer them based on the information we have been given from the community managers and from previews.  You’ll see there are still very few that have been answered, and for those that have been answered, there are more negative answers than positive answers.  If I missed some info or answered something incorrectly, please let me know.  @Britpoint & @justbiglee – can you answer anymore?  Thanks guys :) 20 Questions.  I understand you might not be able to answer them all, but answers to any would be greatly appreciated :) 1. Will there be dedicated servers, or if not, will there be improvements to the netcode so that sync issues and disconnects are mitigated? Unknown.  No info. 2. On PC, have you fixed the issue of being disconnected if Steam goes down? Unknown.  No info. 3. Have you removed the hidden steering assist and Traction Control from gamepads, and made using a gamepad a disadvantage rather than an advantage (or at least equal)? Initial reports indicate parity between gamepad and steering wheel. 4. Will setup values be changed to real world values instead of the 1-11 scale? Unknown.  No info. 5. Will online grid sizes be increased to 20 to match the real world? No, still limited to 16. 6. Will there be any League specific features, such as allowing the host to define grid positions, and have the host be the only one who can select "Go To Track"? Unknown.  No info. 7. Will pit stops be manual, meaning we control the pit speed limiter, the driving, and are responsible for stopping in the correct spot in our box? No, they are still automated. 8. Is there now a force cockpit view for League races? Unknown.  No info.  However, Pro mode does force cockpit view, so perhaps this will also be an option for online races. 9. Has the sidepod glitch been fixed? Unknown.  No info. 10. Is it possible on PC to communicate with our Race Engineer, or is that only on console? No. Console only. 11. Has corner cutting been fixed, and has the auto-slow when off track been removed/replaced with a better means to manage running off track? @justbiglee indicated corner cutting & the penalty system has been reworked.  No info regarding the removal/replacement of auto-slow when running off track. 12. Are there pit boards? Unknown.  No info. 13. Is there a feature to export results on PC? Unknown.  No info. 14. Can replays of online races be saved? Not on ONE or PS4.  Unknown on PC. 15. Is Pro mode equivalent to Sim mode, where we now have something that feels like iRacing, Assetto Corsa, rFactor, etc? Pro mode is only different from other modes in that it is a full race weekend (3 practice sessions, 3 qualifying sessions, 100% distance race), has all assists banned, has the HUD turned off, and forces cockpit view (so not really something we couldn't do before).  However, at least one site (Team VVV) has reported that the handling is closer to a simulation than the arcade feel of past F1 201x games.  16. Doubtful, but I'll ask anyway, as other games are starting to do this:  Will there be multi-format online racing, meaning Xbox ONE and PC drivers can race together? No. 17. Has the "V-Sync" bug been fixed on PC, whereby a high framerate would cause erratic wheel behavior with certain wheels (G27 for instance), and turning V-Sync on was one way to solve it by limiting the framerate. Unknown.  No info. 18. If we damage our front wing, is there now the option to NOT have it replaced during a pit stop? Unknown.  No info. 19. Will there be native support for VR headsets? Unknown.  No info. 20. Can we select our own car numbers for online races? Unknown.  No info. 21. Can we join/leave/rejoin the online practice session at any time, and can you join any session right up until the cars go to the grid for the race – i.e. you can join mid-way through qualifying, or even after qualifying, with cars that join late starting from the back of the grid. Unknown.  No info. 22.  Can you rejoin a race if you get disconnected? Unknown.  No info. 23. Can we adjust our Field of View and seating position in the cockpit?  Unknown.  No info.

    Announcing F1 2015

I have to agree about Pro mode - it is a bit silly to advertise it as a feature, when it's always been there by changing the settings.  If it was a sim mode, that would be more exciting... but Team VVV did say the handling in the game as a whole leans toward a simulation, so there's hope....

    Little research

There have not been "other ones".  There has only been one other one - the one you mention; the Wii U.  While you're accurate that it has been "one of the slowest selling consoles for Nintendo ever", and worldwide sales have been worse than the Wii, and also worse than PS4 and Xbox ONE, it certainly isn't a "total flop", or even a flop at all.  In fact, as of writing, worldwide sales are approximately: PS4: 21 mllion Xbox ONE: 11 million Wii U: 10 million ... so it isn't even particularly far behind the Xbox ONE, though for full disclosure, I'll add that the Wii U did have a head start.  Also, because of a slew of recent and incredible releases such as Mario Kart 8 & Smash Bros, Wii U sales are both increasing and even higher than at the same time a year ago. I hate to sound like a Nintendo fanboy.  I'm not at all, and would argue just as strongly for the PS4 or Xbox ONE if you were saying nonsense about those systems.  I just like facts :) I apologize for going completely off topic.

Please stop adding your reply within my quote box when quoting me - makes it look like I said what you're saying. Regarding what you said about sales where you said "If I had to choose"... well, you don't.  There are worldwide sales figures easily available, even on wikipedia, and the Wii sold more than the PS3 or Xbox 360 by a significant margin.  I'm a PC guy too, so don't care which sold more, but fact is, it was the Nintendo Wii, and like every console, it has a lifespan, and that's why they didn't "continue on that platform alone".  Sales figures alone are not an indication of whether is something is "good", but there are dozens of standout award winning games on the Wii, so I think it's safe to say, even if only as general opinion, that it is a very very "good" console.

Not only is the best selling last generation system, not mainstream, but now the Wii isn't a console either?!?!  Are we all living on the same planet? :)

This is actually the 7th: 1: F1 20092: F1 20103: F1 20114: F1 20125: F1 20136: F1 20147: F1 2015 tbh I don't really count 2009 as it wasn't on the mainstream consoles but yes I do agree they've had several shots at it now. Don't count F1 2009 if you don't want (which still means the OP should state 6th, not 5th), but you can't say the Wii wasn't mainstream.  It sold more units than the 360 or the PS3!
