Renders it unplayable for me, completely breaks the illusion that I'm playing the 2020 F2 season.
Such a shame.

And this is exactly why they should allow us to edit driver ratings, like NBA 2k, Fifa, Madden etc.

This is hardly surprising I think. The complexity of driver performance is probably beyond the simplistic driver rating system.
Past performance still appears to hold far too much power too.

NBA2K games do this really really well. Generally throwaway interactions, but it really helps with the immersion.
It helps that these guys are usually fans of the games, which perhaps with the Albon/Russell/Norris generation, we might see them be willing.
An in-game social media feed, like twitter, is a good tool as well.

I had a race for my carrer mode, at williams in silverstone. The race started dry and about half the race there was a safety car, I asked jeff about weather and he said 5 minutes to the rain (acctually my Jeff is quite precise) and I decided to pit under safety car for the inters, I was the only one. When the safety car entered, it started raining and ALMOST everyone pitted. In 19 drivers, about 15 driver went to the pits, in the next lap the rest went up (so not everyone pitted at the same time), what happen after that? I was leading the race with 20 seconds for the 2nd place, ending up winning the race making a big drive to not let bottas and verstappen pass me, as they were winning 4 sec a lap (i was in a willams so yea....).
And this type of stuff hasn't happen only in this race, it happens a lot of time to me.
The only reason they don't all pit at the same time, is if they're too close to a teammate.
So it has the illusion of choice, but if you actually look at it, they don't.

I fully understand what you're saying. There is something sterile about the racing, and while it never becomes a chore, it does feel a bit uninspiring.
The weather system I think others have touched on, but it is utterly pointless. Everyone pits at the same time, and you can't drive around the weather. By which I mean, put on inters early. There is a very specific time to pit, that the AI without fail, nails.
That said, I'm sure they're aware of what can be improved, and until then I am thankful for online leagues etc, for some of that human element.

Yeah, I get this, I'm 4 seasons into a myteam. It's a shame that we cannot influence that growth with support though. Facilities aside, it's underwhelming.

Strange. Have you tried altering it, to see if anything changes?

What ride height are you running?

Really is a shame that these boosts are temporary. It makes building, and developing your teammate a waste of time.
Seeing my favourite F2 drivers languishing around at the back, is not fun, or true to life.

F1 2019 had that problem, but in 2020 this is so recurrent. Does anybody else experience this while playing on ps4 like me or other plataforms?
I've had the same issue.

Yes, they are scripted. I've experimented with ruining other's opening sectors. The time runs out, and it skips. They've then miraculously improved their times. Despite being upwards of a second down during sector 1.
I presume they do it to save loading time.

I'm 10 rounds into my first myteam season, and I've been putting effort into improving my teammate, Zhou.
But, in most screens it seems to have made no difference. He is still rated 61.
Then I look in one of the finance tabs, and he's listed as 67.
So which is it? Because the driver market screen is showing other drivers changing. Albon from 79 to 80 for example.
Is it a bug, or am I missing something obvious?

It must be out on PS4. Which is what I'm using. My friend had it too, and he's PS4.

And now my 15,000 points have vanished....

Ferrari I guess?

I mean, Racing Point are referred to as the pink Panthers. So maybe nicknames will be in.
Maybe also country of origin? The French team, the British team etc.

It needs to be an in-game option.
They're going on about their mountains of data on twitter atm, but I think people would rather have the opportunity to live their understanding of driver ability.
For example, what would the polish contingent think of this, if Kubica was rated at 70. It might be realistic, but his fans will hate that being dictated to them. (Aware that he probably isn't in the game, just going for an easy example)

Hopefully. It needs to be an in game option though. Not everyone has access to mods.

Unless we can edit it, I hate it.
You risk alienating fans of certain drivers with things like this.

I think that just a general sprucing up of the immersiveness into the game world would be great. NBA2k, Football Manager etc have social media feeds in game. So you can see fan responses to your performances, rumours etc.
Actually 2k in general do an incredible job at their my player career modes. It would be cool to interact on some level with other figures/key personnel in game. Like in V-Rally 3, your rivals would email you occasionally ahead of big moments in a season. There's always been camaraderie between drivers, it would be cool to live some of that.
Also, and this maybe a bit niche, but actual driver performance ratings for braking, tyre management etc. Then make these editable, so you can customise the game to your understanding of the driver abilities.
Finally, at some point down the line for My team, it would be great if we could create our own sponsors. Which would hopefully allow us to get some real world names on the car.
is Bottas overpowered in your game?

Tbh, I can't imagine the teams care too much about individual driver ratings. Otherwise Red Bull would kick off over Albon, AT over Gasly, Williams over Latifi etc.
Team ratings might be different, as evidenced by the still over powered Ferrari team in this edition.
