  1. Codemasters have created yet another unique game to add to their franchise. Formerly quoted as “the best F1 game to date.”

Codemaster has created a spectacular game with the help of its new  features, the return of the interviews, the development of the R and D tree, the development of classic cars, the graphics, the visibility enhancement and so forth. All of these elements have made this F1 2018 game amazing.

However, with every game there’s always room for improvement. In this discussion I will be stating a few ideas for the next F1 2019 game and I hope some of you reading will be able to give ideas to improve the franchise.

    - Story mode, starting at go karts and making your way up through the categories (F4, British F3, European F3, F2 and F1). Gives a real life style feature of working hard, in order to get to the top.

    - Crashes need to be slightly more realistic

    - New and more realistic TV cameras when viewing or reviewing a race etc

    - New and more realistic TV camera views of the introduction to a practice, qualifying and race session.

    - The people need to be more realistic, maybe EA sports can help. This year compared to last year it was pretty bad. Daniel Riccardo does not look like Daniel Riccardo on this years game.

    - The return of Thursday press conferences

    - Being able to roam around the paddock area

    - Being able to interact with other drivers whether it be on the track parade, paddock or racing facility

    - The introduction of team orders, if your not in a world championship position or your driver number 2 you will be told to move over. It will hugely effect the atmosphere of the team, factory and it might effect the R and D’s, whether you decide to let your teammate by or keep yourself infront of your teammate

    - Marshals actually come out and clean out the debris instead of it disappearing

    - More analytical information such as, steering angle, speed across a corner, graphs and so forth

    - Introduction of in game commentary for various languages. So like if you select your language as Spanish you will have Spanish reporters etc.

    - More enthusiasm from the commentators, they sound dull compared to real life commentary

    - Be able to open DRS fully. The DRS has two open flaps. One is at like 45 degrees let’s say and the other is at 90 degrees

    - Punctures need to be more realistic, they need to delaminate first then blow up and then shred

    - More first lap incidents

    - Along with those rare big crashes in every session whether it be in the practice, qualifying or race session

    - Be able to get sponsored or be sponsored and as a result gain in R and D points

    - Manually enter the pits

    - Manually drive into your pit box

    - Be able to vary engine modes

    - Winter testing and in season testing. Not only would it enhance the performance of the car but potentially next year or next season the car could be at the back due to the amount of R and D points you have at the end of the season and so forth.

These are some of ideas that I had. I still have more but I want to be able to read other people’s idea.

  2. This is what I usually do during a race weekend. In practices I tend to experiment braking points, acceleration areas, best lines even if its raining.

In qualifying, I tend to use the recommend gear. So turn 5 in Monaco, I go second gear. The reason why I'm going in second gear is to give the car that acceleration it needs if I go up to third there will be a slight turbo lag within the engine. So its good to maximise the lower gears in qualifying to get the best lap time.

When it comes to the race, I tend to use the gear above the recommended gear. Again, turn 5 in Monaco, I go third gear. I don't need to risk every single lap out of the 78. There's no need. Unless someone behind me did a under cut then I would do the qualifying procedure, which I spoke about above.

I think Singapore and Monaco are the hardest tracks, but Singapore is much easier, if you can nail Singapore due to the amount of turns and work it needs, then your concentration will increase if you race consistently and as a result that will help you in Monaco.

Plus when racing in Monaco you don't need to be on the throttle early compared to qualifying. Just do a lot of time trials and hopefully it will help. Even though its pretty boring. Personally, I just did a lot of races in Monaco and its actually very very fun when you get it right and your pushing. The 2017 F1 game made me push like hell when I put the AI to 108 (Ultimate), I think maximum is 110. But boyyyyy it's hard. But don't worry. Just keep playing, even if its 20 minutes a day, you will get better I promise you that. It just takes time and dedication.

  3. Good to look at the new comments, I have two ideas.

    - Being able to change the dashboard on the steering wheel. This is seen in project cars. You are able to look at your lap times, delta, power etc.

    - Online event sessions which allows people to race a full weekend with other players for the hard core racers.

    - This has been said already, but I am going to add a bit of detail into this idea. Create a test mode, which allows racers or drivers to focus on one corner or more then one corner or even a sector. For example, Singapore, turn 5, once you have passed the corner the game will automatically reset the car's position before the arrival of turn 5 or the turn before that. Not only will it help racers to hit the apex and get them into a better racing line it will make them better as a driver.

  4. I just finished reading pages 7 - 11. Wow. Amazing ideas, whether it be legal or illegal for the FOM to do it. Just WOW. I love all the ideas. I have some ideas which I'm gonna share, so here they are (I haven't been on here for a while, so I'm pretty sure other people have said some of the stuff, that I am going to say):

    - Keep the PIT GIRLSSSS for 2018. It will be sad if they went which might happen next year. Additionally, make them look like models.

    - Being able to be a test driver. You get to participate in in-season testing etc. If you do well you might get a promotion to 2nd or 1st driver if you do exceptionally. This has been done within the F1 2005 game.

Yeah those are the only two ideas, I have for now. LOL. I'm out of ideas because some of them were said or I already said them before. But I like all the ideas. Btw need help. What's the guys name who responds to questions about the formula one games. He usually gets asked about it before the game releases. I don't know why, but I got a Matt in my head, is that his name? If not can you just post it on this forum. This guy seems to be the big deal. He responds to most people who are unknown to him. I can try and get him to look at this so then he can take it forward to Codemasters. He could help us out a lot a lot. Thank you for all the ideas, again. Haven't been on for a while. Dayuuuuummmm.

  5. By the way. If anyone is wondering, why the hell am I replying to all the comments. It's cause I'm a low life and I'm bored. Naa I'm joking. It's to show that I am listening to your ideas and interacting with you guys. Which I believe not many forums do. :)

  6. Another thing - wind! We should be notified of wind directions / changes by the engineer on track and be able to see it in the garage info screen. We should be wary of the car's handling changes depending on head or tailwinds through corners. It's a big part of every lap in F1 and it should be a factor on the game. - Sebasdenb

Like it. Getting the ideas from the US Grand Prix. Amazing ideas.

Codemasters should take some notes from NBA2K and football games

    My wish list:

1: Have drivers change teams after a few seasons.

For example Vettel moves to Mercedes a few seasons later and Hamilton goes to Ferrari etc. All NBA and Football games do this and players go to different teams.

    2: Team Manager

Be able to play as a team principal and choose staff to sign (Designer, Chief Designer, Race drivers and reserve drivers etc) and renew contracts of current staff and have talks with the team boss about the goals of the team and which drivers the team should get during the winter break. Interviews should also be added with this and certain things you say should have positive or negative effects to the team and the staff and also the reputation with the team boss

    3: Team owner

Be able to create your own team and choose the logo and livery of your team and sign sponsors

    4: Injuries

After a huge crash your driver or any other driver involved should be injured and miss one or two GPs

    5: Deeper story mode

Deeper story mode with our character starting from F3 or F2 and if he/she performs well he/she will receive an offer from any small F1 team like Sauber and Haas. otherwise if they perform bad they will stay one more season in F3 or F2. Interviews should also be added and certain things you say should have effects on your reputation with your team and other teams and drivers as well

    6: More helmet Customization options

For example be able to customize your helmet with the name and sponsors of your current team. It really feels bad to be the only driver on the grid to have an empty helmet with some tribals and cannot put your team's logo and sponsors on your helmet.

7: Commentary from Croft or anyone else while watching a replay of your race

It would've been cool if the commentary happened while you raced but it can distract you. So instead the commentary should be done if we watch a replay of our race

8: Be referred by the commentators with your driver's name rather than the team's name

During the results after every practice,Quali or race the commentators say "so let's take a look at the top three. Who are: Vettel, a Red Bull (you) and Lewis Hamilton". It would be nice if the commentator referred our drivers with their surname or their Nickname and not the team's name

9: Drivers celebrations like in real life

For example after Riccardo gets a podium he does a "shoey" to the interviewer or Hamilton takes selfies with his phone from the podium and Vettel does the Egyptian walk and Raikkonen drinks the champagne. It would be nice if they added these unique celebrations. So far the only driver in F1 2017 who acts exactly like his real life counterpart is Kimi Raikkonen. He is always serious and never smiles even on the podium.

    10: Team Radios

Random real life team Radios should be added in the race replay. For example Vettel thanking the team in Italian after a race win or singing "blue flags" after laping a car or Kimi angry at something or someone etc - AvengerGR35

Lovely ideas. Especially, missing out a race after a big crash as a racer or being told by the team owner, which is you. No one has said that. That's why it's being said again. :)

I have one really simple one--allow the driver name bubbles that appear over the cars to be assigned to a button. Right now they are either on or off all the time. I'd like to turn it on for a moment occasionally during a race to see the cars in front of me, especially when told to catch up to a particular driver under yellow.  It would be even better if using Tobii and looking at a car would give the driver's name, but that's probably a major ordeal to implement. - BoothJoe

    Thank you for your input.

  7. F1 2018 Game Ideas

    - Have a series where you start in the a 2000's car and then as the year progresses new drivers, new teams, new cars start to get implemented until 2018

    This would be badass.

To actually progress through the years with all the car and driver changes.

    Awesome idea. - DEECO

    Appreciate it.

I think it was mentioned before but able to go through the ranks of Formula would be pretty cool.

    - HaasF1Driver

Good idea. Thank you for following the other ideas.

Quick pitstops in practice and qualifying in which you have the ability to change front wing angle and tyres - been asking for this since F1 2012, should be in the game.

Also, for crying out loud can we please have the same 'spawnpoint' every time? When you go to track without doing the outlap yourself, the game sometimes spawns you in the final sector and gives you the 5 red lights immediately - great! However, often I find myself looking at an AI driving my car for half a lap before I gain control. So unnecessary! Just give us the red lights immediately. I know, first world problems right?

Lastly, I'd appreciate a timer from the very start of the practice/quali sessions instead of just the final five minutes. Especially for qualifying this is a must. - Sebasdenb

Your ideas make sense. Like them. Very truthful as well.

Everyone of these new features would likely screw something else,

But as we're here, realistic Rolex clock time and dynamic progression of such through sessions.

And for multiplayer games only allow host or majority of drivers to proceed to race!!!!!!!! - TeenierNeilb69

    Good ideas.

I wasn't disrespectful to staff so read my comment carefully next time before being judgemental! To explain my comments to you as you were unable to read it properly the first time.  If you think everything is great and do not challenge yourself to preform better and better yourself you will not get better!  So you shouldn't tell people not to be negative as actually it's that negative thinking that drives people and company's forward!  The reason this thread was created surely was actually a negative thinking on past and current f1 games (what was it missing to make it better). - Acerees

First of all lemme end you. Not sure if your eyes are working. The title clearly says F1 2018 GAME IDEAS. Put it in CAPSLOCK for you to see CLEARLY. Secondly, a bit embarrassing for you, the message wasn't directed at you. So I don't know why your complaining. I agree that I shouldn't tell people to be negative cause they do bring out the improvements. Sorry. But codemasters has done a lot ever since 2010, the F1 franchise has been getting better and better except for 2014. But imagine if we lost codies. Who the hell is going to replace them? Some BTEC version of them. Nope, that isn't happening.

  8. 1.Different racing lines for wet and dry weather. - Dino78

    Agree.

The F1 series after this definitely has to become more content driven in my opinion this and f1 2013 is just a taste of what the series could and should be.  adding extra tracks and cars from past seasons like Korea, Valencia, Germany, and estoril, imola and so on makes the game much more appealing to buy really like having all the extra content. - LVJ02

    Again I agree.

A later release date, with no bugs or patchs - col123

Lets see if codemasters can resolve the issue.

One thing that must be fixed for 2018 is the yellow flags. Currently, players as well as AI are able to drive through single and double yellow zones without having to slow down. I think it would be realistic to have everyone slow down through yellow flag zones and if they don't, they get something like a 5 second stop/go. This goes for qualifying as well.  - sebasdenb

    That's very true. Agree.

I wonder if codies care at all D. So many great Ideas but like in the past, we won't get any interaction with the developers on where the next Game is going and which features are beeing worked on.

Codies should take some advice from other companies who are involving their fans into developing the game like for example The Crew or go to the Sea of Thieves forums where you can straight talk to the developers and give them your thoughts! But Codmasters is always silent, no Open Beta testing, no Demo and informations about the game coming 1-2 weeks before release...

It's really a shame because all of you here have got some great ideas but sad that not even 1% of that will be in the next game or ever be in future releases. - Flazh92

    Agree with everything you said.

If they didn't, we wouldn't have gotten classic cars this year. Simple as that. Their now-yearly surveys very clearly show that they're listening, but there's only so much they can implement in a limited development cycle, and their laziness and apparent imbalance in the number of people working on the games (too few programmers) doesn't help with that.

    Very true.

I forgot to mention that we should be able to pick the color of our gloves and customize them. Be able to sign merchandise. The questions asked by the media should change per the amount of races we do and how we do and if we won the championship or lost by one point how next year will go. - dony224

That would actually be cool. Great idea.

We should have something like that. Something that makes us more involved in the career outside of just racing. Make the career more about our driver.  - dony224

    Agree.

I wonder whether a Xcom style, HQ or motor home could work in between races? Drivers room, gym, engineering, R&D, the garage, press room, engine room, manufacturing etc. Could be better than the usual laptop we get at present. - dino78

    Lovely idea.

Some other ideas I forgot to mention.

    1) Have the fastest lap notification at the very top of the screen. As I use a custom camera setting, fastest lap pops up right in middle of screen making it very difficult to drive for a few seconds.

    2) A wet setup for wet races. Currently you can just use your dry setup fine in a wet race.

    3) Take account of altitude and humidity. For the former Mexico for example. Teams run  high downforce even though track has two long straights. Why? Because of the altitude.

    4) Have conservative/normal/aggressive race and pit strategies. The more aggressive the more risk of something going wrong but also potential of higher reward.

    5) In the wet you can still use the kerbs, irl you would be spinning off the track.

    6) The agent is pretty pointless to the degree that I ignore everything she says other than the contract stuff. Why would an agent tell me my qualifying and race goals? Silly.

    7) If you win drivers or constructors world championship, how about a resource points bonus? Also get press to add pressure on WC next season with more Q&A about defending title, mistakes etc. - dino78

    Great ideas.

Codemasters dont like to implement official F1 features unfortunately - roberto28

    I know right. Sad times.

My F1 2018 Career Mode Suggestions

    RACE WEEKEND (Practise):

    1) Suggested car setup recommended by your engineer for the said track. Also information on what is the ideal tyre compound for your car and number of suggested stops. If you've ever seen the Pirelli infographic for a race you'll get the idea. (See picture)

    2) Break down the practise tasks into seperate practise sessions, ie do track acclimitisation and honing the setup/ test new parts in FP1. Fuel Saving, Tyre Saving and Race programme for FP2. Qually programme for FP3 etc. This makes you then use all the FP sessions, otherwise you skip the rest once you've done your programmes.

    3) Speaking of programmes, more on screen help with fuel load and tyre management. Both are fairy hard, involve you driving in a way you never do in a race and become quite frustating. To the point i skip both these programmes everytime now.

    4) Speed Traps and GPS overlay in FP to give you an idea of how quick you are on the straights and in the corners.

    5) If you're struggling for setup, a Q&A with the engineer. Q1. How was the car in corners? 1) Good, 2) Oversteering, 3) Understeering. Q2. How was the car in corners? 1) Good 2) Too slow, 3) Too fast. Q3. How was car stability etc etc. This could then be used to suggest a new setup for you to try.

    6) Practise overview, who was fastest in straights? Corners? What new parts are teams running?

    7) Driver tyre selection for weekend. See picture

    PARTS:

    1) New parts comparision, i.e. run with our without the new parts to see the difference. Also what would be good would be a first driver preference i.e. new front wing is developed but only one avaiable for the race. Driver one gets it, driver two has to wait until next GP. This could add into a "team mate rivalry" that i'll go into later.

    2) Engine upgrades for works and customer teams. Works team get them a GP or two earlier than customer team.

    3) Ability to switch car development (love the new development stuff btw) to next seasons car. This could be a decision taken after summer break. Do we continue with current car as we are trying to win championship or in a constructors fight or do we switch resources over to next years car. A simple percentage bar could work here. 20% continue development on current car, 80% resources for next seasons car.

    4) Ability to tailor car development according to number of seasons you'll play. I'll at most do 3 - 5 seasons. I'd like car development adjusted to how many seasons i expect to play.

    QUALIFYING:

    1) Agreed race strategy with team, i.e. for Q2 we will be using SOFT rather than SS because we want to one stop in the race. Obviously this can go badly wrong if you dont get through Q2 with the slower tyre.

    2) Tyre and Brake temps for qually, should be an emphasis on getting them in the right temp window for qualifiying. We've seen this IRL lots this season, especially the tyres.

    3) Post qualifiying interview. Football Manager has done this for years, doesnt need flashy graphics just a Q&A page where press ask you questions about qually and race to come. This could add psychological pressure, make team rivalry worse, make team cohension better etc.

    4) Add in Mercedes qually boost mode and make it a development part that you can aspire to get.

    RACE:

    1) When we get the grid order, can we please have what tyre the driver is on? Currently when on the gird, you have to go to race director to check what tyres the drivers are on.

    2) If a driver has taken a penalty, what the penalty was for? i.e. new gearbox, new ICE etc.

    3) The lap before race start, emphasis about getting the tyres and brakes to the correct temperature.

    4) IRL the cars have ERS button, OVERTAKE boost button amongst others. I know the pad/wheel has limited buttons but ERS and OVERTAKE would be good to have.  See pic

    5) Ability to modify the MFD options menu so the options i prefer to use can be added to the first menu page in race

    6) Better explanation of what pit strategy the cars you are racing against are on. i.e. One stop, two stop etc. Also what lap the engineer thinks they may come in on.

    7) Add in the under cut and over cut to the race options, so your team may change your strategy to over cut an opponenent or may ask you to under cut and opponenent.

    8) Laptimes the team would like you to drive to, to ensure your pit strategy will work.

    9) Ability to see if car infront is harvesting (flashing red light IRL)

    10) The HUD, can we have it angled? You see this in racing games and first person shooters where the hud display looks like its being viewed through a helmet hence there is a curve to it all.

    11) I know this maybe really difficult to do, but in race commentary could be a nice feature.

    POST-RACE

    1) Interview about how race went, if you've annoyed other teams or drivers or your team mate

    2) A race highlights package of race director incidents

    3) Post race analysis (see pics)

    - dino78

    Clever ideas.

  9. Total Manual Pit Stop, please, nothing of automatic!!! We are on 2017-18! I want stop the car to change tyres, it's simple, and if someone does a bit of antics there in the Box, like trying to get into the garage or running over some of the workers' team, punish them right away, disqualify them!
Another point, re-make all animations of pit, are very fakes, nothing simulated, looks like linear, made in computer with mouse... The car moves very fake... renew this animations! - CavSTiago

    Good ideas.

I got a new idea: Option to turn the Halo off. I don't know if I want to watch that thing when driving.
Relax, it's just a theory! But...
Halo is just ugly because the angle of T-Cam.
The solution for Halo that everybody complains,
is abolish T-Cam. F1 need of a new cam to show onboard. Maybe for that FOM come back this camera:

    that's same angle:

    Agree.

    2 Ideas:
A final game without bugs and all features of F1 2017. - Scott1904

    Hopefully. :)

If they stopped trying to make an MP game they could focus on releasing the best possible single player game. Much easier to add all the things people have requested over the years if they're not constantly worrying about how Update X for offline will ruin Function Y online.

They could cater to that part of the market and those hoping for something league-able could finally move on to something with a better development timeframe.

Based on the achievements completion many don't play online anyways, better to make 95% of the half the people happy than 50% of all the people...at least for their forums.

In the meantime whilst they insist on being all things to all people they'll just have to put up with it, this is the game they have released, if people aren't happy they've every right to vent their spleen.
    I completely agree.

The main reason i have been playing their F1 games was the multiplayer mode and its leagues because there you can drive against real people with different characters and who also like to take the game a bit more serious when they race in the league.
Career has always been a side thing for me until this year, where multiplayer does not seem to work at all. That is why i now play career more thatn multiplayer and i honestly would rather have no multiplayer at all than a multiplayer that keeps disappointing me year after year, each time hoping for improvements.

In addition, removing the multiplayer mode would create a lot of free space for new career features. - MrGhost010

True that. But it's fun driving with other players. But majority of the time its annoying when they crash into you.

Guys, please leave the "Codies shouldn't make another F1 game because there are so many bugs" posts for another forum, this one's for ideas that would improve the next game. I suggest you use your creativity instead of your negativity smile

"Through negative thinking comes positive change" wink  - Acerees

If you guys are going to disrespect the staff, just cause of minor problems. Why don't you go to codemasters facilities and fix it for them. You know where the door is. Every game has some sort of stupid thing going on. Okay. You guys are being negative but yes I agree with Acerees comment.

one more idea- make this forum spamfree   D - marsal79

    LAL.

These are great ideas,I have some more:
-RPG features(I think somebody mentioned this already),and if they can't record the drivers' voice then only subtitles(like in Mount&Blade)
-Team orders. If you disobey team orders you could lose some reputation (this might persuade players to obey them),and that would be cool if you could request team orders too, like Ocon in Canada or Hamilton in Baku.
    -Bring back the press like in F1 2010 or F1 2011 - Tommy3500

    Totally agree.

    Engine failures

    Offfical HUD

More AI crashes, especiallyy in lap 1

realistic AI performance, such as verstappen being strong in wet conditions

    F2 and F3 - roberto28

    Good idea.

You guys are still buying this stuff? Haha lol just stopped by and read through all the problems. Id play it if it was free... maybe.... email me a code ill give you an honest full feedback review by email.

Yeah, you need to stfu. Let people have their opinions. You haven't got any.

Just thought about an idea to make multiplayer better in response to your idea/history. What if we have statistics for people. Therefore, people who are roughly at the same level race each other. It's like GTA V. If the mental state is high, the player gets placed into a session with other players with a higher mental state. So for F1 2018, people who crash more or have more penalties get placed with other people with the same amount of crashes/penalties.

wonder how paul ricard is doing in terms of codemasters for f1 2018  and the return of Germany - DANDREWTHOMSON

I think your in the wrong place. Who's Paul Ricard. :)

They've already trialled lots of different designs, including windscreens and closed canopies. This is the one they've found to work best, so we're stuck with it. - scottishwildcat

    Thanks for helping. Appreciate it.

I get the reason for the halo but why not make a type of wrap around windscreen, it could be a open top design or enclosed. Have tear offs on it. Only thing is when it rains, not sure if a wiper would work well enough. But that halo isn’t really protecting much. - HaasF1racer

That's actually a good point about the wipers. LAL. But thank you for the idea.

Ability to be an owner and manage an F1 team even during the race or be one of the drivers if you wanted to be. - HaasF1racer

    Like the idea.

The ideia of Halo is protect on top of head, but why is protecting the front where is the view of driver?... This still does not stop a piece of car from killing the pilot. - CavSTiago

Just to tell you. If you haven't watched Indy500. Basically, I think huge piece of debris hit the drivers head and knocked a driver out and he hit the wall. That's why they started to implement the idea of the halo. Sorry, I forgot the drivers name. If someone could help. I would appreciate it. But he died.

Relax, it's just a theory! But...
Halo is just ugly because the angle of T-Cam.
The solution for Halo that everybody complains,
is abolish T-Cam. F1 need of a new cam to show onboard. Maybe for that FOM come back this camera:

    that's same angle:

I totally withdraw what I said, look at Halo on the other camera onboard ... it's a pretty ****! #NoHalo

I agree it looks ugly. Imagine driving it on the PlayStation. LAL.

  11. When your main driver can't qualify, your number 2 qualifies second then can't even start the race, and then said main driver has a fantastic race from last to fourth only to write the car off on his cool down lap on a rookie, you know that real life is starting to imitate a codemasters game.

    GG Ferrari. - FRACTURED

    LOL.

    ok, just being really creative
-create your own team with ''choose powerunit'' or something like that
-commentators from other countries, an example could be Jens Hansen and John Nielsen or Tom Kristensen (yes, that Tom Kristensen) from tv3+ in Denmark
-your number on the helmet - Marculfalk

Very beautiful ideas. Love all of them.

    1. I think we should have the national Anthem of the driver play when they win a race.
    2. Interviews and have them affect standings with other teams and and other racers.
    3. More issues with the cars.
    4. Way more of customization with helmets. We should be able to put sponsors and numbers and teams on our helmets.
    5. Names actually said instead of just " a Williams or a Mclaren"
    6. Names and number on the race suit
    7.  New celebrations when winning
    8. Create your own team. You pick the sponsors and the engine and the drivers and everyone on the  team Almost like another sports game like NHL, Baseball. YOu can pick patty lou, Toto Wolff and your drivers. Truly make this team your own team - dony224

Great ideas. Especially, the new ideas which no one has said yet, I believe . Number 4,5 and 6.

How about a driver conditioning system where you have to spend resource points to upgrade your character, not just the car?

    So there could be categories like;

    1) Fitness
    2) Aggression
    3) Bravery
    4) Race craft
    5) Wet weather ability
    6) Overall temperament
    7) Tactics
    8) Team dynamics

Each would have a genuine impact on how you perform over a weekend.

If you don't spend enough on fitness your car becomes harder to drive towards the end of the race as your character tires out.

Spend points on team dynamics would see you get upgrades quicker, see the team be more forgiving of mistakes etc...

Each category would need to be maxed out over a season to see some subtle, but noticeable differences.

Spending into wet weather ability would see a subtle difference in your ability to drive on the limit in the wet.

You would actually have better reflexes if you spend into race craft, or would get better information from the pit wall and extra info about weather, your rivals position on track, any strategy changes, if you spend into tactics.

You would earn points just how you do now for the car but it would be equal points to spend on your driver.

That way no two players will have exactly the same experience, the replay value is high, it adds another layer of interest, becoming even more tactical and strategic.

It may take 2 or 3 seasons to get everything maxed out, but once it is you would feel almost like a different driver, with heightened reflexes, information, a seeming advantage in changing conditions.

I think it could be really good if done right. - RhinoCharging00

That's probably one of the best ideas, that I have heard of so far.

Point 5 is unrealistic to put every name in it. I know they did it with Grid and Dirt, but I just hate it because my name is never in. Than I prefer to be called a McLaren.  - Raalte

Still a good idea in my eyes of calling out your name instead of "a McLaren/Williams/Ferrari" etc.

what the **** is, if they can not release the game without bugs ... DSQ on the tires, the choice of tires, bugs with the SC and other bugs. Let them release a normal product and not **** from year to year. They released the game and the first half of the year you can not play because of bugs. - MilligramSmile

Understood. If you want you can forward your ideas and anger towards Codemasters. An email might be sufficient. But thank you for the idea of having no bugs within the game.

Starting at Formula 2 would also be great. F1 Teams interest should depend on your Performence in F2!

    - Seperate Career mode. Now it feels more like a failed Team Manager with lack of content. I want to experience the Mode as an upcoming F1 Driver, so I would welcome more interaction with the Team. For example they could change the R&D system by doing a certain amount of laps and giving your engineers the direction you want the car to go and your team builts it from there.

    - More Stuff AROUND the actual Race weekend. Walking through the Paddock, talking to your team interacting with fans etc. (example NBA 2k series)
    - Invitaional events shouldnt be in career mode. Its super unrealistic and just a gimmick which you skip after 4-5 events.
    - Enhanced Team Manager mode. Like some already mentioned before, Create your own team chose from diffrent Engine supliers etc.
    - Facescan option + Enhanced customization. (Layereditor just like Forza for your Helmet with community designs)

Come on codies listen to the community give us feedback that you actually care.. Sad that no developer around here interacting with us like NBA 2k crew does. - Flazh92

Great ideas. Don't worry, if we can get more views they will definitely read these comments. Plus, I made this forum earlier so that we can get a high amount of views. Once it reaches a high number, they will certainly look at forum.

    Your kind.

    Ideas for 2018:
    F1 2017 bugfree edition. Stop - Cdrwmagnex

Many of you guys are wanting it to become bug free. Hopefully, Codemasters will focus on making it a near bug free or absolute bug free game, within 2018.

    Only things I would want in 2018 are;

    1. Ability to select a 3-10 year career at the start (so the speed of resource points payout/upgrades is pro-rata, as there is no way I have the time or inclination to play 10 full seasons of full races in 12 months)

    2. An automatic development option (so the team you drive for develops automatically as the speed it would develop if you were not driving for it - as frankly, the practice laps are becoming tedious after 1 season)

    3. Ability to skip animation sequences in career (listening to some clown tell me about a classic F1 car he wants me to drive that I have no interest in driving is doing my nut)

    4. Ability to create/edit team/driver names (I understand the licensing issue but per EA sports FIFA games, I understand the edit function circumvents it). -Rinehart27

1st point. Codemasters did this intentionally, because F1 2016 R & D was too quick. I like the way they did it this year. But obviously, its your opinion. Keep it. I like the 3rd point. Fully agree. You can't skip it. There needs to be a skip button.

    I'd love to see:

    • A more dynamic career mode where you can create your own team, choose from a few pre-set "carshapes", with different benefits and drawbacks, and an engine supplier. Perhaps a pool of drivers where you can pick the second driver in your team, etc.
    • Again, career mode, you can choose to bring your own sponsor ("pay driver") or be affiliated with the different teams junior programmes
    • Team sponsor logotypes available when you use a custom helmet. If you drive for Ferrari, add the Ferrari logotypes to the helmet
    • The game can dynamically expand to 22 or 24 cars in career mode
    • Like in NBA2k, where you can download community made teams for the game using 2kUpload, we should be able to insert our own carskins to our created teams, or at least logotypes. Perhaps paint a car using some 10-15 different templates, and then insert logotypes onto them. It's sort of been done in DiRT4.
    • And, I know this will never happen, but I'd rather see a full season DLC with historic cars, like 1986, rather than a few random cars. -Tarsomarques
Love all the ideas. Especially, that last one. Maybe an add-on pack with historic cars, tracks, racing drivers. That sounds pretty awesome. Plus, they get more money so it's a win-win situation. But, make some of the packs free. :).

Alright guys, lets just calm down slightly. Everyone has their own opinions. But I fully agree that F1 is better than Project Cars, not sure if it is then Project Cars 2 . Plus Gran Turismo same thing, not sure. FRACTURED. You might have screwed this discussion over. :). Now, Codemasters are never going to look at these comments. Naa I'm joking. Just be careful of what you say and that includes everyone else. Codemasters has changed the F1 game so much compared to it's old F1 license owners (look at a youtube video of the evolution of the F1 game) . In 2005, I think it was Liverpool studios or something like that. The game wasn't as good then from what it is now. But, F1 2017 was bound to be better than 2005 , in terms of graphics and so on. Additionally, many things within the 2005,2006 and 2007 games were pretty s***, in my opinion. AI was easy, career mode wasn't as enjoyable and so on.

We hit 2K views. Thank you for everyone that is reading and commenting on this forum. Lets get 5K views, then 10K views and hopefully 20K views. Well done to everyone for the wonderful/creative/clever ideas. Thank you. God bless.

  12. Cutscenes in career mode, such as when you join Ferrari, Seb Vettel either welcomes you to the team, or he could be quite cold based on the rivalry you bring (your achievements in the past may influence this). The Journey or NBA 2k18 are great examples, but they're obviously way too complicated for Codemasters to achieve in 2018.
In the current games, the actual drivers are way too distant. By getting actual F1 drivers to interact with you, might seem trivial but ever since 2015 when codemasters tried to go for the live the life-feel again, I've felt the actual drivers should feature as characters in the game. Pretty please, codies! - Sebasdenb

    Very good ideas. Love them.

Now THIS is something that shouldn't be an unreasonable request. Or they can just reuse Jonathan or whatever his name is (the guy that owns the classic cars) to teach you, since apparently he has some experience until he messed up his back. That would be nice. - Unnamed25

LOL. Good idea. Thank you for repeating it again.

I have additional ideas such as:

    - Your character gets to speak.
    - When you get clipped behind and your car turns to one side and you are 90 degrees clockwise/anti-clockwise to the track, you get to see a huge amount of smoke coming out of the tyres.
    - Get helicopter scenes of the Formula One cars driving around the circuit.
    - Make the helicopters actually move instead of making them stay, including the planes.
    - Get to design your own helmet (shapes, fonts, writings etc).
    - Better and more realistic crashes. So if someone breaks in front of you and your behind, you either go flying on top of the car like Alonso did in 2016 or just spin around.
    - Reduce the amount of spins when there is a crashed, make them more sensible instead of turning like a five times.
    - Get the banners of sponsers such as Petronas, Heineken etc.
    - Better graphical TV feed. More realistic such as on TV.
    - Drivers, managers, fans, FIA (Charlie) get to speak to you directly or by email.
    - Get to hear the crowd shouting at the start of the race, at the end of the race, when they are coming to their grid slot on the formation lap etc.
    - Inside helmet view.
    - Different TV views and more realistic ones shown on, actual TV.
    - Get to manage your own team mode.

  14. I have a golden idea!

    For 2018 give McLaren a GP2 engine D

Guaranteed that joke died already - Dboyking1

We will just pretend that you never said that.

I really like the idea of doing more cut scenes, it is probably the best part to Carreer racing!  They need more, like a stalker fan you sends thousands of love emails or twitter posts, and that one fan in the crowd wearing a bikini top who you could swear flashed you on your final lap, she climbs through the security fence and meets you in the tema tralier post race interviews!  We could also see the mechanics all throw their arms in the air when the car crashes, do an insert pic in pic style along with a screaming commentator "ohh no he has put it in the wall"  then and only then does the safety car come out, which also should be a small view insert.

Then after all that, signing contracts, needs to be followed by a few drinks at the bar, your shout of course! - IanX

Like the ideas mate. But the women or man you didn't which one, flashing themselves is a bit to sexual. Naa i'm joking. I know it's a joke. Hopefully.

Team orientated helmets for career mode. Helmets that have templates for livery base colours, logos etc. The helmets in the game are horrible no matter how you edit them. - aurosboros

I'd like to see more additional content, so keep the current range of classic F1 cars but also add to them. Things such as one of MS' Bennetons, some of the 80s turbo cars etc.

I'd also like to see some classic tracks too:
    - Old versions of Silverstone, Hockenheim, Spa...
    - S Korea, India, Turkey, Indy, Jerez, Magny Cours, Estoril, Brands... - Davros876

Bringing F1 2013 back. Good idea.

Could try and have downloadable paint jobs which people in the community can make for people to download like on Forza. Would love to create my own team with this or change Sauber to BMW Sauber and maybe Haas to Panasonic Toyota, change the McLaren livery back to the chrome and red Vodafone would make the careee much more enduring and fun!

Also the ability to sign new engine deals etc. Or drivers changing teams based on performance just some ideas. Maybe if you are a lower team like Sauber or McLaren you can sign and engine contract with Mercedes or Renault etc. Which gives you a big boost to power and makes you more competitive. - nsx98

About the engine deal. I like the idea. But it's more of a motorsport management kind of thing. If could codemasters could add that feature of building or being the manager of the team that would be cool.

I like the Verstappen part. Also that he and Lewis are better in the rain. - Raalte

    What about Fernando Alonso.

Great driver, but not as good in the rain as Lewis and Max. - Raalte

I'll give you that. They are much better in the rain then Alonso. Alonso is very consistent.

I like the Verstappen part. Also that he and Lewis are better in the rain. - Raalte

    What about Fernando Alonso. :(

As well as the stuff I mentioned initially, I'd like to see a story mode that had cinematics, perhaps speech options, like you see in The Journey and Mass Effect, with multiple choices that take you down different story threads, and it would need to have top quality voice acting and motion capture.

As others mentioned I think it would bring the whole thing alive if you could actually develop rivalries, real rivalries, with drivers.

So if you took Hamilton out at turn one he would come up to you after the race and speak to you.

You get stars from other sports doing motion capture, FIFA being the best example, so why not f1?

I think it would add a lot to the overall experience.

After all, if you think about it the actual drivers are all mute, and could easily be robots for all the human interaction we have.

That, for me, is the priority as far as immersion and really bringing the F1 world alive in the game.

It's not 1997, things have changed in the gaming medium.

It is considered art in many places and has proven it can offer the player a rich, emotional, and complex, world with believable characters.

When we play f1 we have to play out any rivalry, any driver interaction, in our heads.

Again, many games have introduced real world sporting stars into their games, principally the E.A games, and so there is no excuse for such a global brand as f1 to be behind the times.

Aside from a brief podium celebration, which are all the same regardless of who wins, and some token shots on the grid pre race start, there is no relationship with the other drivers and that is a wasted opportunity. - PercocetPanther

Totally agree with the drivers having a voice instead of being muted. Your ideas are so emotional, it was like a speech.

  16. I quite like idea of a separate story mode, something akin to The Journey in FIFA, or the story focused single player campaign you get in most E.A sport titles, such as Madden, NBA etc...

You would start as a rookie in a lower formula, perhaps immediately meeting your flash, arrogant nemesis and battling him on track.

Your personal decisions would dictate your progression, not the pre set, unalterable game developers choices...and each player could see multiple endings.

As long as it wasn't too schmaltzy and cliché, and allowed a genuine sense of pride in your character, and was paced correctly, with the speed of advancement to F1 based on your ability, but also recognising that you can pick the wrong team, come up too early and fail, or waste an opportunity and see it go to another driver.

If it was done well it would be such a fantastic experience.

Naturally the more traditional modes, such as single race, time trial, online etc... would be standard. - PercocetPanther

Thank you very much. Your ideas are great. Especially, you dictating your progression. Like that.

"Use feeder categories such as; F4, F3, F2 or Go - Karting within the gameplay for career mode (get promotion from teams and so on)"

    Definitely.

    Double flap DRS?

Impossible for it to be too short - JoeyGTX650

I recently found out they had double DRS flaps. So one would open and you can open it again further. It was on youtube. It was Sebastian and Daniel telling us about the power unit etc. But having double flap DRS would make overtaking much easier and it will test you like the harpin corners etc. You may tap R2 twice to activate the double DRS flap.

    Agree.

    - AI are more defensive in the slipstream/straight
    - AI hang around a corner or might make a huge dive bomb into a corner

Oh, this will just result in more crybabies claiming that the AI rams into them nonstop and that they're never at fault because they're the most perfect players in history. - lolschrauber

LOL. True that. But Codemasters can make them move when the player is like 3 car lengths behind. Dive bombing, make people dive bomb but let contact be slight, not too much. Plus it's fun I've enjoined racing wheel to wheel since 2015. The games before that wheel to wheel racing was pretty rubbish and easy. I smile now when there is a good battle. I know its weird. Additionally, the arrows that pop up to show that a driver is behind you could turn red to show that they are dive bombing or something.

Seriously this thread here has got the most dense wishlist i've seen so far, quick on point and lots of areas to cover, areas that make sense and have been existent more or less in every petrolheads wet dreams once in their lifetime.

    Keep it coming mate! ;)

Aww thanks man. Appreciate it. God bless.

  18. A proper tutorial mode. Teach people how to save tyres, or fuel. Teach them how to understand a setup. How to drive with different assists turned off. A proper, full tutorial mode by Anthony Davidson or Paul DiRest or someone. Better than those useless 30 second videos - Straffo

Good idea. Bringing that 2012 aspect of it I think.

  19. More Ideas on the way:

    - Open world environment. Allows the player to walk around the paddock, to see other drivers/talk with them, to have small interviews which the player may or may not want to, to sign signatures for fans which the player may want to or may not want to, walk around the garage/talk with the mechanics or engineers, this allows players to have a real insight of the F1 world.
    - To add a bit more entertainment you can have a 3rd and 1st player view, like GTA V.
    -  Driving to parc ferme when the race has ended or in qualifying/practice. As you make your way to parc ferme engineers can talk to you about lap times, positions, team boss may want to talk to you.
    - When you win a world championship team boss will congratulate you, which normally happens in Formula One.
    - Being apart of the parade lap.
    - Team gives you an order you can either reject it or do what they say. If you don't do it you might get told off after.
    - Objectives. Your teammate is trying to win the world championship. Team objective might be to keep the contender away from your teammate.
    - The AI makes mistakes, misses an apex, runs wide, crashes with other drivers or with the players. I think we  need more first corner incidents, which have to be either very big or very small.
    - Winter testing. Tiametmarduk said they should add this and I believe this too. With the new R & D the game should allow you to test the new upgrades on the vehicle when your doing a winter test. When doing a winter test, you can have that long tube at the top. Don't know what its called. Test engine power and so on.
    - Improve crash model slightly.
    - When you lock up, heavily a black spot can be seen which causes vibrations like Nico Rosberg in 2015, Russia, I think.
    - Being able to see data from your car such as lap times, braking/acceleration, G - Forces, gear changes and so on after the race.
    - If there is a huge crash at the start, safety car takes you along the pit lane instead of start finish straight.
    - Medical cars come to the scene as well if there is a huge incident.
    - Oil leaks (rarely) the powder added to the top of the leak for effect.
    - Rarely, animals coming to the track like Singapore 2016 or even birds flying across the sky or in Canada, honey badgers coming out onto the track.
    - Debris hitting your face or your helmet.
    - Being able to tear off the visor screen.
    - More practise programmes such as; installation laps etc.

  20. Alright, thank you for the ideas, it means a lot. Every single one of you. At the end of the day everyone has there own opinions and I have read every single comment. Can you try to get more people involved with this discussion (or people who are reading this to post something even if its the same thing as someone else said) in order to make F1 2018 the best game yet. I believe Codemasters still needs to reach out not just to youtubers etc. but to the people playing because we all have phenomenal ideas that SHOULD be implemented.  I'm not here to make this a big thing, I just want Codemasters to be the best racing game ever. So it can influence other games like Gran Turismo, Project Cars and so on. Obviously, its pretty clear that Codemasters won't add everything into one game, because if you think about it the next games would pretty much be rubbish as there won't be anything to add cause all the ideas have gone. But here's my reply to all of your comments just to show you that I mean it. I will do a second part if the comments go exceptionally well. By the way, sorry for taking most of the idea, but do repeat them to show that you agree with the idea.

They could stop with the multiplayer aspect of the game and focus on all your points above - FRACTURED

They could do that but, as SebasdenB said, even though there is a low amount of people playing MP (multiplayer), to be honest MP is there to show your talent off to the rest of the world. Additionally, not much work is needed on multiplayer, just a few tweaks of bugs, lag and glitches.

How about the same content as now but then bug free - Raalte

Definitely, agree with you. Bugs screw over the you and the game badly.

Come on, mate. We should be at least a liiiittle bit more realistic - ImDyingYouIdiot

I guess you are right. But any idea is a good idea.

Quit your Contract and give the License to SMS  OR do ALL what that dude says and that BUG FREE! sit down on the pants floor! - StaatsfiendNR1

    Definitely, agree with you mate.

I also wanted to have more engine modes and battery power, but then decided that it would be too difficult for beginners and overall useless - Haguro

True that, but maybe it can be used for like elites once you change the difficulties or something like that in terms of battery power. More engines, I believe the 2017 game allows you to use above 5 engines but you go above that. However,  you might or will receive a penalty. If I'm mistaken sorry, I don't know much about the power unit penalty rules.

AI penalties and component/engine/gearbox usage follow

Rival teams’ vehicle development detail - akinozdemir

I believe F1 2017 does that and it would be implemented on the new game. But, yes I guess we the players get harsher penalties than AI. We could introduce stop/go penalties etc. If you don't believe me go check tiametmarkduk's youtube channel season 1, Japan of AI's getting penalties. Its a mixed grid order.

Don't get why people want the license removed/sold, codies are a small company and personally if the FOM wasn't on their backs all the time, the game would be densely improved. Plus a bug free game is impossible. I am willing to bet £5 if a company like SMS would take the license it wouldn't be all that.  - DBoyKing1

Definitely agree, But these are just ideas if it does happen. Bug free is never impossible. Nothings impossible just believe.  It will come to a point where it will 0% bugs. Inshallah.

OK, a few new features with bugs and some bugs from 3 games ago.

I hope for the online players that mp will be better at launch - Raalte

    LOL. JOKAAA.

I got a new idea: Option to turn the Halo off. I don't know if I want to watch that thing when driving - Raalte

LOL. BIG JOKAAA. But we could run it in a practice session as a programme. That would be pretty cool.

I'd add these points to your great list mate:

-official TV HUD (it's a no brainer in a "officially licenced" F1 product)

-official camera angles as a default, players can change it to their liking afterwards anyways (currently it's still impossible to replicate the real life onboard camera angle in both TV POD and COCKPIT)

-more sense of speed and camera shakiness / driver head shakiness (would make the driving experience more natural)

-driving school for nubs and scrubs (it's desperately needed for all those struggling to drive clean and or without assists)

-more information on the wheel display to promote cockpit driving and driving without the HUD switched on (especially cockpit enthusiasts will be very thankful for that feature)

-leg protection / driver leg padding in the cockpit (this has been suggested at least a couple of countless times already and tbh it looks absolutely weird to see the virtual car model not being 100% accurate in a "officially licenced" F1 game)

-helmet cam + VR (PCars2 currently has got the "perfect" one out there in the racing branche)

Either way i highly doubt Codies will put all these features in their game during the next 3 years, as almost 90% of this thread has been reappearing for 8 straight years now..... - LilBrown47

Thank you for the compliment, love it :). Your ideas are great mate. Yes, official TV HUD would be amazing. I like your idea about the head shaking or bouncing with tracks like Monza etc. Driving school, I love that idea bring back that 2012 kinda game play. Indeed, more information on the wheel display like project cars. Very true, about leg protection/head protection pad etc. They should implement that idea, it won't take to long. Helmet cam/VR would be so cool absolutely amazing idea mate.

I agree to all those points. I'd add a real Replay mode with original TV HUD. The camera should automatically jump where overtakes happen and not stick to the car you chose to watch. The Standings should be displayed like in real TV. - FlazH92

Totally agree with two of the points you made. At the end it can show highlights maybe, just like FIFA at the end of the match.

Great with ideas for Codemasters. Love F1 2017 but still lots of possible improvements out there:

    * Commentators during race + the commentators talk about how you are doing in the season, reflect on you form and so on AND they call you by name not just "and a Force india in pole :-("
    * Replay with highlight of crashes, cool overtakings etc (like done in FIFA)
    * more feeling of an actual career, more cutscenes, interviews between races, silly season, new drivers coming in to the game, 3rd drivers get a chance. Your F1-job has to be on the line here:)
    + all ShahRiyaadh16  said ;-) - TACKLEBERRYDK

Agree with every single point. Good ideas. :). Thank your for the add on of my name. Appreciate you liking some or all of my ideas.

Put more women in the cut scenes.... Lol
You actually wrote that. - aurosboros

Why not ;) ? We need some more girls in here. There's too many men too many men . Naa I'm jokinh . Formula One is still an male athletes sport. To have womens in the garage would be nice because there are some females within this industry. One or two. Not just Emma. Imagine having pit girls or paddock girls or something. Idk. :)))

Guys, please leave the "Codies shouldn't make another F1 game because there are so many bugs" posts for another forum, this one's for ideas that would improve the next game. I suggest you use your creativity instead of your negativity smile  - sebasdenb

Lol. Why don't you do the honour of making it. Cause I haven't experienced any bugs. :)))). You may become famous with your forum chat. ;)

    I'm being creative.

- FRACTURED

Your opinion is invalid mate. Naa I'm joking. That's why this forum is here. To make your ideas into reality which hopefully will go into the game for next year. Obviously, you know that. Hopefully : / .

I understand where you're coming from, and my comment wasn't directed at you, fyi. I believe CM could make an incredible single-player game, and you're correct, there are more people playing offline than online, but it'd be a very bad move from them to cease multiplayer.
Removing MP would not make sense at all given this new F1 eSports thing they've launched - how ridiculous would it be for F1 to have an eSports competition on the official F1 game, when the game doesn't allow players to race each other online?

In my honest opinion, I would not be against Codemasters focusing more on stability rather than innovative features next time around, as I believe the game we've got right now (bar bugs and glitches) is rather decent - not perfect or optimal, but if they were to release a game next year which had barely any glitches and a few new and enhanced features I'd be very happy to buy it. The fiasco that is the F1 game's post-release glitches isn't satisfying anyone.

This doesn't mean we shouldn't think of new features though, and OP has had some great ideas already. Let's keep 'em coming. - sebasdenb

    Agree.

Personally I think it's ridiculous that they are running any sort of eSports as it is, with so many problems online. It doesn't look great when people join a live stream to watch some racing, and the leader gets DSQ'd crossing the line for some tyre glitch etc.

I can be harsh on them but that's just personal feeling having spent so much time playing F1 from 10-14 and just feeling ripped off with the last two games. Hence I stick around here once more hoping finally for some good news RE: patching online.

Idea: sort out the display on the wheel, add screens to cycle through for information like Motec or Indycars/FC/FB in pCars. Please. It's needed for cockpit view.

     Agree again.

Thank you for all the comments, I will be reading all of the suggestions until a month before the game releases next year. Already 400 views in 24 hours I believe. So yeah keep up with the suggestions.

  21. F1 2018 Game Ideas

F1 2017 Game is so far, in my opinion the best ever game within Codemasters franchise. However, every amazing game still needs improvement. So today, I'm going be talking about F1 2018 and ideas that could be implemented for the new game, next year. Obviously, I am aware of FOM regulations/license etc. But hopefully some of these ideas can be implemented.

    - AI are more defensive in the slipstream/straight
    - AI hang around a corner or might make a huge dive bomb into a corner
    - Show characteristics of actual F1 drivers when you are in any racing mode (Alonso does a lot of cut backs or Ricciardo dive bombing)
    - Use feeder categories such as; F4, F3, F2 or Go - Karting within the gameplay for career mode (get promotion from teams and so on)
    - Bring back conferences and interviews even a interview outside the F1 world maybe in a boat with a special broadcast or something
    - First and third player format of the F1 world, which includes the, garage, pit lane, motor home, paddock area
    - Have YOUR own celebration when you win or do well inside and outside the cockpit
    - Put more womens in the cutscenes
    - Produce standing water, if drivers go on top of this they aquaplane
    - Once it rains, make some drivers go on the non - racing line like Verstappen
    - Different setups for different tracks
    - POV view of the podium like Monza, Silverstone and so on
    - Pre - Podium scene or POV view. Drivers talking etc
    - Once a race finishes YOU get to drive back to parc ferme
    - Marshals come out on tracks to clean debris instead of it disappearing
    - Have winter testing running before the season starts so you and the team can develop the car but you get less R & D
    - Keep legendary cars
    - Get legendary circuits back
    More reversal tracks
    - Tyres can de - laminate or explode instead of losing pressure all the time
    - Get to talk with team bosses
    - First lap crashes need to be sometimes bigger and catastrophic.
    - Drive to your own pit box
    - Commentators speaking within the race David Coulthard and Ben Edwards ( I like his commentating)
    - Engineer talks more and tries to motivate you
    - Podium talks, POV
    - On race day, by yourself you get to go to the starting position and team rolls you into your grid slot
    - AI needs to be more aggressive
    - Time Trials delete laps which don't seem to be correct
    - Getting demoted or out of contract by a team much more quicker then 13 races
    - Getting demoted mid - season
    - Drivers from other feeder categories participate in P1 and P2
    - Red flag when there is heavy rainfall
    - Once red flag YOU get to go back to either the pits or grid slot
    - Getting told off for a mistake or crashing into a teammate by the team
    - When cars hit one another, sometimes there can be terminal damage, such as water leak/ hydraulic leak  etc causing you to stop
    - Get a charge button this means drivers and players can only go for a lap, then charge battery for a lap, then go again. This reduces wear of tyre and tests players more
    - More mechanical failures
    - Be able to change engine settings
    - Have more information on the steering wheel, lap times, battery charge
    - Being able to use ERS
    - Double flap DRS
    - Story mode of an young talent, you get to choose the path to get to the Formula One World
    - White lines can make the rear slide away in the wet or cause you to go off
    - Be able to analyse your driving. Where you lost time and so on or being able to watch your lap
    - If you win the world championship you get it on December or whenever it is, so maybe a cutscene for that
    - Have a more realistic trophy cabinet
    - Have a series where you start in the a 2000's car and then as the year progresses new drivers, new teams, new cars start to get implemented until 2018
    - Being able to unveil the car during launch and asked questions
    - Being able to change helmets or customise your own helmet

These are all my ideas, I'll be happy if anyone of you can leave more ideas for Codemasters, which will make the game better for the years to come. By the way I'm not saying Codemasters hasn't done a good job it has done an exceptional one but it just needs a bit more of a tweak to become the best racing game in the world.

  22. I know I am late. Dont hate. But here are a lot of ideas:

    - Marshals coming into the track and clearing away debris.
    - Being allowed to enter the pit lane manually and stop at the pit box manually. This adds to the drama, you may hit one of your team members but they get themselves up.
    - Also, using the clutch as you get away from your pit box will add to the effect.
    - Cranes lifting cars up if they crash and you are able to see the crane lifting the damaged car, adds realistic effect instead of cars dissappearing.
    - Open world environment. Allows the player to walk around the paddock, to see other drivers/talk with time, to have small interviews which the player may or may not want to, to sign signatures for fans which the player may want to or may not want to, walk around the garage/talk with the mechanics or engineers, this allows players to have a real insight of the F1 world.
    - To add a bit more entertainment you can have a 3rd and 1st player view like GTA V
    - Have feeder categories such as Formula 4, Formula 3(GP3), Formula 3.5 Renault, Formula 2( GP2) . With this you may can get a promotion by a team in F1, so you may miss a one feeder category and exceed to F1. This allows career mode to have a lot harder and more realistic gameplay.
    -  Driving to parc ferme when the race has ended or in qualifying/practice. As you make your way to parc ferme engineers can talk to you about lap times, positions, team boss may want to talk to you.
    - When you win a world championship team boss will congratulate you, which normally happens in Formula One.
    - Being apart of the parade lap, again interviews.
    - Thursday conferences with the press, again interviews.
    - When racing you might be told to be move over and let your team mate pass. If you don't you may get penalised by your team. This has happened a lot recently in F1 so why not add it.
    - The AI defending on straights and corners needs to be better.
    - The AI attacking on straights and corners needs to be slightly better.
    - Customise your own celebration when winning a race, on a podium or on qualifying. Again, 1st person mode or 3rd person mode will make it more entertaining as you can see the crowd. Especially in Monza, you can hear the crowd cheering when your on the podium. Imagine that.
    - More buttons needed, such as you can change engine settings, charge the battery, you can use ERS, change you display (from lap times to speed to power).
    - Interact more with the engineer, ask him any questions about the car or other drivers.
    - Engine blow outs, even though it takes the ____ it makes the title challenge harder and better. But it should happen to the teams with low reliability mainly.
    - Improve crash model slightly.
    - When you lock up to heavily a black spot can be seen which causes vibrations like Nico Rosberg in 2015, Russia, I think.
    - Better and more cut scenes, maybe when arriving to parc ferme or going to the weighing place or going to the pre podium room etc.
    - A trophy room along with the cars you won it with and in the middle can be the constructors and world championship trophies.
    - Start the race with a safety car and rarely ever end with a safety car.
    - Cars aquaplaning sending them to the wall or spinning off like in Brazil 2016.
    - Add classic tracks and classic cars back to the game with a variation from the 1950's to the present.
    - Cars can go flying when they hit another car.
    - Reduce the spinning when a car hits the wall or another car coming towards them. Needs to be more realistic.
    - Being able to see data from your car such as lap times, braking/acceleration, G - Forces, gear changes and so on.
    - Cars touching the kerbs in wet conditions and spinning off not just you but the AI.
    - If there is a huge crash at the start, safety car takes you along the pit lane instead of start finish straight. Rarely must happen.
    - Medic cars come to the scene as well.
    - Oil leaks (rarely) the powder added to the top of the leak for effect.
    - Tar mac, best line clean and worst lines full of tyre bits as seen in Formula One.
    - Rarely, animals coming to the track like Singapore 2016 or even birds flying across the sky.
    - Singapore FP1 needs to be a daylight to near night transaction like Australia in the real game.
    - You can see engine blow outs from behind the car.
    - Punctures from touching debris.
    - Punctures should explode instead losing pressure anywhere across the road.
    - More practice activities such as installation lap, starts and so on.

Yeah that's pretty much it. I sound very high saying all of that. Credits to the people who said things before me which I added here again, you guys are getting notified its not just Tiametmarduk. Plus as Cheezkape said I am aware of FOM Licensing.
