DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games in DiRT Rally 2.0 Posted February 16, 2018 JZStudios said: Areyouben said: Maybe they're extending the development window on the WRC games, filling the gaps with an arcade game just like Forza Motorsport and Horizon? So V-Rally in 2018, WRC in 2019, V-Rally in 2020 etc. I haven't been paying attention to the WRC release schedule, but Forza was always on a 2 year dev cycle. It's just now theres also Horizon, which is also on a 2 year dev cycle and fills the gap in between. Have the WRC games been on 2 year cycles? they seem to kind of pump out games pretty quickly that I don't pay attention to. If anything, Forza could use 3 or 4 years of development if they really want to create a fresh product. :D But yeah, I don't think WRC is dropping of the yearly releases either. I could imagine that the license is too expansive not to release every year, so I think V-Rally will either be a replacement for their current WRC franchise because it's too expansive for them, or just a matter of registering the brand now so that they can use it in the future when their WRC license ends in a few years.Another interesting theory would be the Kunos announcement that is taking place in a week. I don't see them build a full off-road project, but maybe they're getting the F1 license for 2018 or 2019? If so, that would free up some money and manpower at Codies which would make the arrival of the WRC license here a bit more realistic as well.
