    Personally I'm looking forward to finding out if I'll be chasing a refund or not. Hopefully NOT but given Codies decisions over recent years I'm 60-40 in favour of that refund atm given the "quality" seen so far....

    Was GAS for a long time but got a little tired and into COD ww2 atm. Truth be I always turn down the graphics myself to the smoothest overall ingame experience. The crowd always gets turned off anyways, I cant stand the distraction. As long as its not a Grid 2  drift fest Ill probably like it ... ... ... when I get round to dualing win 10 on my main rig :classic_wacko:.

  2. I've got to dual install win10 (still on Win7) or build a new rig to actually play this though I preordered soon after announcement. :classic_laugh:

    Hope you guys hype me into gettin my ass in gear after release and get me doing something LOL.

  3. One thing I've noticed with a few of these preview videos is whiteout track glare. I consider it dangerous to drive in these circumstances without a decent set of polaroid :classic_cool: sunglasses, will these be available as a dlc or can we equip with :classic_cool: them from the off ? :classic_cool:


    Seriously though I hope there is some graphic settings to reduce the saturation glare levels.


    Decent polaroids would have that track as black as the day it was laid.

  4. As title, how is the track limit system to be implemented?. Is it by deteriorating performance/handling as in Grid 1? or timed slowdown as in Autosport?.

    I didnt like the slowdown penalty at first in Autosport after Grid 1s slowdown/handling hit but got used to it and it is just like real penalties for exceeding track limits but either is fine with me.

  5. Its always a new game that forced me to use a new OS, Id still be on Win2k if the games worked on it. That said I'm very late to an OS and dont get full value cos they get dropped by MS a few years after I join.

    Win2k,  XP,  7.............suppose I have to put 10 on my main rig.

    I put 10 on my work rig a couple of months ago and it can be made to look and behave like 7 (majorgeeks), and  I've always used classic windows theme, never any XP or 10 look.


    Here is classic shell on Win 10, looks like win2k 🙂

  6. Got to ask, PS 1, TOCA 1,  did it have in car views only or did I not find the external cam view?, I played it all through with in car view only and loved it especially the wet tracks although was my first taste of seat cam racing. Can still hear Tiffs voice, It was Tiff wasn't it?

    Now I prefer chase cam but don't mind a lobby with seat cam setting.

It may sound a bit bizarre but I would like the option in a custom setup race to include no disqualification for stopping or driving backwards, an "Anything Goes" "Stats Off" lobby, why? because in the original grid I liked to join games with known crashers (as they become known) and really enjoy outwitting them. It was a great way to unwind and have a non serious time racing.

    They liked crashing and I liked beating them :)

    And all tracks all cars would be welcome too.

  8. Oh Oh Oh.. and maybe a vote system for race type in mixed playlist (if still in) so we can vote away endurance if not in the mood.

    And I'm sure I'm not alone in not really liking night races unless like the original (which was a bit silly really) sped up day night event but it was always nice to see the sky brighten as the race ended. :)

  9. Ok, for endurance I can see a point, but tyre modeling with have to improve with greater degradation for mistreating the rubber and also a scaleable pit in pit out time to account for the length of the endurance event, I mean even a 57 lap F1 only has 1 or 2 pits.
    I think something like a total pit 5- 10 second tyre swap penalty with the current 7 mins game might fit along with very aggressive tyre modeling.
    Which again will be unfair to pad users who dont quite have the finesse of wheel and pedals to save the rubber.
    Quite a can of worms best left sealed

  10. Ive never quite got why you would want pitstops unless they are mandatory, which would be chaos if everyone decided to pit at the same  time, because surely those that dont pit will win. And if you have to pit to repair damage or punctures then you are getting away from the codemasters pick up and play game style. I imagine the front row or 2 never losing unless they get damage from behind and the behind lot needing to pit to fix the damage etc caused by being behind, too sim like for me, what are any benefits from pit stops apart from maybe endurance to change tyres?

  11. Ive never used the game settings for any of my wheels and pedals, I have always set them through the custom section.
    I find it a more reliable way of getting them set. I did try the in game setting for my current  Fanatec V2 but the game just spazzed out with constant scrolling which was quite difficult to get back from.

  12. The "strong" in GRID 1 is the multiplayer;

    1 - There are no ghost cars in races with collisions ON
    2 - You can create your own type of game and rules ("Survivor races" are very fun).
    Two teams of 6 players, worth everything to prevent the other win the race, to go against the tide, making barricades, etc.
    And you do not have to play the boring Demolition Derby for that, you can choose any category with high speeds.
    3 - Persistence of crashed cars, car parts, etc., on the track.

    I used to like this on PC and would probably still be playing if it wasnt shutdown for PC users, the crash physics really made for some spectacular collisions .

  13. Most of all it should be supported and patched better than GAS was e.g. upgrades STILL do nothing to car performance no matter WHAT the stats claim. We were promised a fix was coming but Noooooo. 

    Are you sure upgrades do nothing to any cars?. Ive started again online with all stock loan cars and there definately seem to be some cars that are just faster than mine which I cant catch even with a good tow so I have to settle back and take a position.
    It is more the touring class that I can see as the other standard cars are very good at holding a position.
    Do you need upgrades for the tuning unlocks to work? or do the unlocks enable tuning?.
    I am only using loan cars.

    Ive never and will not use a mic.
    I hate dropping out of games without a BB, or Dinner, or BT, or GTG work. And the occasional Sorry and the GRs too.
    Also we can follow (after chat) if someone is starting a favorite session type....
    It is a must.

    Wouldn't say unplayable, just unset ffb and increase centering on the wheel, takes a bit of getting used to but you can play, though the steering does feel a bit loose and wandery, just like a Cortina Mk1 steering box lol.
