Any news on DLC car modding?

Cool, it's one step in the right direction. I hope soon there will be a way to replace all liveries of each car like in DR1. Should have been like this since day one.

Are DLC cars finally moddable? I've seen templates for them released in RaceDepartment.
  4. Thanks for posting this. I haven't played in a while, and when I came back suddenly I had this error, but I fixed it following the instructions. I still use W7 because of reasons. I don't play career mode, but I like to upload my times from Time Trial to the servers.

Does anyone have the Golf MK4 and 206 yet?
  7. I have audio issues on the replays of Greece stages. Cameras work fine. I'm on Steam.

Are custom liveries allowed now? If so I might share some stuff here again. I take screenshots after almost every stage.

What are your thoughts on the BMW M2? I tried it in Time Trial and at first glance it doesn't seem to be as competitive as the Aston or the Porsche. Still, it's an unexpected addition to a category I felt it would be largely ignored. I still wish we had the Abarth 124 and the new Alpine over the muscle cars.

Will the new seasons be released on the very August 27th? Or we will be able to purchase earlier? I wish there was more classic content, and by classic I mean older than 1980. Don't see Codies adding more stuff when the game turns one year old.

The DiRT Rally version is shorter? Never noticed that. I always assumed it was the full lenght. I could more or less recognize the same turns and places in both games.

There is a mod for BeamNG.drive which recreates Pikes Peak, in both full gravel and full tarmac configurations. It's not as good as DiRT Rally IMHO, but it's something.

I know, but without the option of Pikes Peak available, bringing back hillclimb would necessarily mean creating a new track from zero. I think all of us would rather see that time and effort dedicated into making new rally stages. Hillclimb is an awesome discipline among motorsports, but let's be honest, Pikes Peak aside, it's not very well known globally compared to rallying or rallycross. If Codies didn't have the chance to license Pikes Peak for the original DiRT Rally, I doubt they would have even bothered with hillclimb at all.

Pikes Peak is entirely out of realm for Codemasters as the race's videogame rights are currently owned by Polphony (Gran Turismo) and will be for another 7 years, I think.

I don't want this talent-less dude to destroy any more valuable classic rally cars. Keep any Lancia far away from him, please. So glad DiRT got rid of him. DiRT 2 and 3 hold good memories but certainly haven't aged well. Showdown was a massive, buggy flop.

I mean, I know rallycross is one of the few types of motorsport were contact is allowed, but precisely due to that I suppose cars must get repaired and washed very, very frequently. Especially if you have tons of sponsors displayed. In this game your car is only washed if you repair it, and you can repair it only if you have any sort of damage. AI cars just go into racing regardless of their damage / dirt. It's a bit annoying.

Am I the only one bothered by how the AI RX cars aren't either washed or repaired between races? A few updates ago it was said that they were being washed between races, but it doesn't seem to be the case for me, at least on Group B RX. VR is the most superflous thing ever. I'm so tired of elitist people saying on the comments of everything "NO VR NO BUY LOL". Meanwhile my gaming PC is turning 4 years old, starting to show its age (Can't play DR2.0 fully maxed out) but I can't afford a full replacement right now. Can't even afford a wheel.

Playing with the Group B RX is fun. The Lancia is very hard to beat at the highest difficulty setting.

DS21, RS200 and Stratos đź’“ Some of my favourites. There's much more to rally cars than just Imprezas and Fiestas.

Fake as hell. Only cars from 2001 and 1997? Come on...

The Escort MKII model used until D4 was constantly inherited between games. I think it originally dates from CMR: DiRT 2, which is now a ten year old game and the first DiRT game I played. Near the end you played a McRae tribute championship with all the ingame stars plus other drivers like Valentino Rossi, all in MKII's. It was a fun game ten years ago, but today I'm glad we have the more focused "Rally" series, more worthy of Colin's legacy. I barely ever used that car in any games, but I'm glad they are using the original aesthetics now.

Well I guess some people like to race with plain textured cars. What bothers me so much is this game's way of handling modded liveries. Back in DR1 it was a bit more difficult to install liveries, and you had to know which modded livery replaced each default livery since you couldn't replace the previews. But you could still replace everything and have every car full of the iconic skins you want. Here in DR2, they are easier to install with the folder method, but only one or two slots per car are moddable and the DLC cars are locked away. I would gladly go back to the way it was handled in DR1 if that means more variety of custom skins.
