  1. Just started playing on Steam and immediately ran into an issue. First, PC specs: 9900k 2080 Ti 418.91 drivers 16gb RAM Windows 10 Pro x64 The issue is a large, rhythmic frame drop/stutter every 2 seconds. Settings don't matter; I tried low everything with a VERY high frame rate, but the stutter is still there like clockwork. Tried reboot, verifying the game's cache with Steam, changing all the settings, trying Vsync on/off, windowed/fullscreen, etc. Something weird is going on here.
  2. Well, this is a new one for me. For some reason I get a regular stutter about every two seconds with my Logitech G27 wheel plugged in. Googling shows me this has cropped up for a bunch of people playing the Dirt games with Logitech wheels over the past couple of years. Has anyone found a fix?

Many not even that much. The last job I worked at for almost 9 years had zero paid time off. And to be clear, the US has no federal law requiring employers to give any PTO at all.

I prefer to keep my wheel set to its maximum of 900 degrees, then calibrate in DR2 so rotation matches each car's steering ratio, even if it may not be ideal

    DiRT Rally 2.0: Seasons 3 & 4

Happy to see Greece and Finland, but yeah... not one new rally location? 😞

There are other hillclimb events on Earth besides Pike's Peak.

    Crew / Public performance issue

I recall one of the developers noting this issue and that it seemed to be a definite bug (specifically with Nvidia cards IIRC) because it was hitting FPS way harder than on AMD cards. No idea what happened to fixing that at this point, though. For reference, I have an overclocked 9900k and 2080 Ti (essentially a top of the line system) and I have to drop my spectator setting to medium to keep framerates high. Argentina has always been really bad in those areas that wind through a ton of spectators (on my PC, spectators on ultra combined with night driving drops my frames down to like the 40s... when it's otherwise 100+ fps.) Germany is also extremely bad in a few areas. It just goes from butter smooth to BAM, dropping framerate in half or more, and that's with medium spectator setting.

Patch 1.6 - FOV Settings for consoles?

I don't even play on console, but I have to say the explanations why FOV adjustments are never coming to console are ridiculous. The exact same cars and cameras already exist on PC, with the exact same positioning etc... adding a slider similar to PC but which only adjusts from the console default FOV to LOWER settings should be extremely simple.

    Not pace notes, patch notes.

Patch notes look awesome!! It's taken a long time but DR2.0 is finally shaping up to fulfill its massive potential IMO.
  11. Also, aren't the stages not 1:1 real locations? IIRC they were kind of like bits and pieces from real locations stitched together with some hand-crafted stuff in between. But IDK, maybe someone matched up the entire things with GPS?

Hey @urgaffel just thought I'd check in - will this make it into 1.6? Thanks again!

Logitech G27 causes stuttering when plugged in

On my PC I average around 100 fps (sometimes closer to the refresh of 165, sometimes closer to 60 on stages like Argentina in the rain.) The USB-related stutter seems completely independent of framerate or general game performance. The work-around for me is exactly what @F2CMaDMaXX posted above. And as he said, it occurs even in the main menu.

I have a video processing to Youtube right now to show what I mean. Will link when it's ready. edit: @urgaffel Video uploaded. Click timestamps in the description to go straight to each of the weather settings. I know compression makes things sucky to look at, but you can still see the raindrops aren't what they should be. Heavy rain does have them, but they are very light and you don't even need the wipers on to drive in it (totally different compared to Dirt 4.) Max settings on PC, 2080 Ti, also tried on my other PC w/ 980 Ti, same thing there. 165hz display at 100+fps.

OK, I know you're not feeling well and some of the overly-harsh criticism wears on you and your mates at CM, but this is the kind of thing that's frustrating. There's a thread, made by Christina, specifically for bug reporting. This was reported there and more than once. Does no one from CM read those threads and report the bugs to the people who can actually effect changes? Anyway, the bug is that in anything but "heavy rain" weather settings, there are no droplets on the glass in the cockpit views. Try it yourself right now. Set up a custom championship so you can choose any of the rain settings except heavy rain, then turn your wipers off (just for ease of visibility of the windscreen effects.) There are no droplets, save for a few scattered around the edge of the wiper contact area. It's been like this since launch. You could also check out Dirt 4 to see how the rain effects should look. It's almost like in DR2, heavy rain setting = D4's light rain windshield effects and light rain setting = no rain windshield effects.

Nice! Thanks for keeping DR2.0 humming along. Will the rain fix also include fixes for the missing windshield (windscreen ) droplet effects?

It's bizarre that the Grid reboot even has the same cars (so the old models of the "new" Camaro, Challenger, etc.) I mean they're still cool cars and I guess technically no different from having a 1970 Camaro or whatever, but... it just seems odd to me because usually racing games featuring modern sports cars have the latest version of them, not 10 year old ones. I guess they are trying to make the least amount of work to launch the reboot by reusing as many old assets as possible.

    New ffb impressions

FFB is a big improvement. They did NOT add "fake canned" effects, there are still no rough surface vibrations like Dirt Rally (whether you like that feature or not, it's still not here.) However the information felt through the wheel is a lot better. I suggest if you feel FFB is actually worse now, you have some sort of configuration problem. One thing I noticed is that with the default settings of 100 for all FFB effects, it felt pretty good compared to before, where I had to reduce SAT and wheel friction quite a bit to feel right. Now the defaults feel just about perfect, at least on my G27.

Huge rhythmic stutter on high end PC

That sounds like a completely different issue. The one people are talking about in this thread is a constant rhythmic stutter that happens at all times during the game, even sitting in the menus.

Gotta say I'm really happy with the 911 SC and 037 (even if one of those is just rehashed content.) Can't wait to hear the sound of the 911 - it's gonna be awesome if the M1 is any indication.

    Disappointing liveries (console)

Well, 1) what are you basing this on? I loved using the livery editor. It wasn't like the ones in Forza or Gran Turismo where you pretty much have to be a skilled artist if you want to create something besides a few stripes and some logos. Choosing from several patterns is simple and takes 3 minutes to do for anyone. 2) It was already developed... for Dirt 4. Sure there would have been some work involved in using it in DR2 because any new car models need skins to be set up for it, but overall it seems like a waste to have ditched it completely when it worked so well. And for the cars that are licensed without other livery options, well.. so what? There are only a tiny handful of those, so just lock them out from livery editing. It seems like you're bending over backward to defend the laziness on display for the liveries, lol...
