If you'd watched GP2/GP3 feeder series, he was all over that for.....ever.

Can the formula 1 game have two versions?
steviejay69 replied to MarilynKira's topic in General Discussion
I have suggested that a spin off could be achieved. Have the regular game as is with yearly iterations, game modes all that etc. Have the MP engine developed and allow DLC for the seasonal updates. That way you can follow whichever path or both. -
You have to change your forum name to Scorchio.

You assume the trainee dev that gets this one might not be able to code it....

Will Buxton is sorely missed in the UK. I have grown to like Alex Jacques, but I really understand why my man went stateside to present the main event. Buxton was about one of the only people I followed on Twitter, but I canned that after 10 years of pointless argument lol

I mean, I don't know how I will be even able to engage it unless Thrustmaster do some kind of mod!

MY F1 2019 IS NOT LAUNCHING / MEU F1 2019 NÃO ESTÁ INICIANDO
steviejay69 replied to joaovbelo5's topic in Technical Assistance
English language, please. However, I will attempt to assist you. At the top of the forum, there is a post about the 445 series driver. 445.98 is the working hotfix. The board is quite an oddball, some Foxconn/Pegatron variant for Brazilian native market. I don't think I can help beyond the Nvidia driver but you might get some updates from the Intel Driver and Support Assistant (but equally it might baulk at the board being old - it is Skt1156 Q57 chipset). -
@BarryBL is Africa a supported region? Also, internet provision in Africa is mainly celluar and satellite, AIUI. Who is your ISP? I did a quick search and three of the six listed ISPs I couldn't resolve their websites.

Fanatec DD1 + TM T3PA - Oscillations
steviejay69 replied to Pin6all_Wizard's topic in Technical Assistance
I'm sorry, but if you got that response from Fanatec then it's ********* buck-passing. They are selling the Podium bundle with F1 2020. If it's users, it's just buyer's regret. What they are basically saying is they won't investigate / don't care why 1700€ of hardware won't work with a 75€ game? Hard to swallow when they are the official supplier of F1 Esports and you've posted video of Nato having no issues. I still maintain it's likely that the Surface Laptop is the issue and / or the USB-C Hub. Microsoft should have put more ports on a computer they want to sell as an alternative to a MacBook. The 16 MacBook Pro has 4x Thunderbolt ports, the Surface 3 15 Laptop has a USB-C and USB-A, that's pathetic. (I'm sure there will be just as many issues with the Thunderbolt ports on the MacBook but hey, chances to sell expensive Apple adaptors). Just my 10c but I'm sorry we weren't able to offer you a solution. Hang fire until you get the gaming rig. -
Playing on WiFi can cause lag more than your internet. Ping depends on distance to players. You can speedtest your internet locally as much as you like, that ping figure is irrelevant unless you ping to a server near your host. You can see the visual indicators in the lobby screen. If you are green and others including the host are red, you're too far away. If you are red to the lobby, that is not great. Connection bars over the cars indicate ping over 100ms, x indicates almost 500ms (half a second). Number of bars means bandwidth is limited. If you get any kind of connection warning when playing a MP session, you'd be advised to do all you can to remedy it (including NAT, wired, etc.)

In the Radeon Settings you can choose whether to allow the game to make the choices for AA or override them in the driver. It also looks like you have the motion blur effect turned on. To be fair, it covers a multitude of sins. It looks better with it at 0% but then, jaggies. If you find a way of making it look better, then please tell us what works for you. V-SYNC is off by default, this can lead to tearing, but the AA would be unaffected. V-SYNC is useful for smoothing the output. But the other side of that same token is V-SYNC can affect framerates, so there is a framerate cap tool that works with V-SYNC OFF. If you have a Freesync Monitor (yours is) then V-SYNC ON is recommended. You can then use the graphics mode to govern the framerate (there are third party tools like Afterburner or RTSS - RivaTuner, whatever it's called now) but they can adversely affect the game. V-SYNC should adapt to the monitor refresh specified in the in-game options. On another note I also use DP to connect to my AOC monitor and the game has always had a bit of ghosting at 144Hz. It's hard to see any effect you see in-game as uploading to YT reencodes the video no matter what settings you use.

I can confirm the F1 2018 and F1 2019 use the same peer to peer hosting model. So no to your 3rd question. LAN game is possible though.

F1 2019- PC Bluetooth Xbox Gamepad Rumble
steviejay69 replied to chaze5634's topic in Technical Assistance
OK. If you look to the top of this thread there is a bug report form, please fill it out and post a dxdiag. (You can edit the first post). -
OK, region is blank. Are you using a VPN or a proxy? What is your regional setting and what is your geographical location?

F1 2019- PC Bluetooth Xbox Gamepad Rumble
steviejay69 replied to chaze5634's topic in Technical Assistance
Do you have the Xbox pad up and running before starting the game in the first instance? (i.e. connected to the PC) The game can detect a change in hardware each time it starts. -
The issue Codemasters have is the tyre choice menu and restrictions by using different levels of session and qualifying. F2 cars are allocated tyre sets for a weekend and barely have enough - but it's a budgetary consideration. It really doesn't account for track abrasion and the tyre allocation is predetermined (not by the teams). So to compound it with inflexible AI just makes for the same scenario every race. Quickly got boring, a shame because the handling model didn't get broken.

The whole issue of classics is a bit of a bugbear to be honest. Time Trial Leaderboards for example. Unless you pick the right car, you can't be top as ALL classics are lumped together. This is also how the Ghost lap save data is stored. TT uses 2019 performance, so very little chance of topping a leaderboard with anything other than a Merc (or possibly a Ferrari), no chance with a Williams (glitch / cheat laps excepted). 0 - F1 2019 1 - Classic 2 - F2

Fanatec DD1 + TM T3PA - Oscillations
steviejay69 replied to Pin6all_Wizard's topic in Technical Assistance
Like I say, laptops are pretty restricted with most BIOS options hidden. I can't find any online documentation. Hate to say it, but I feel this modern tech (or the hub) may be the cause of the issue. I certainly would explore the game on a connected PC or different laptop with more or more configurable USB ports. If you reach out to Fanatec, I'm sure they will give similar advice. But I would for sure make that the next step before RMA as you might find yourself with expensive shipping costs BOTH ways plus some kind of inspection fee. -
12 of your 27 posts have been one word replies, mainly "Ok". If I can see that, anyone else can. Post 1 was "I hope I get chosen for the beta" "Any technical feedback or opinions?" Ok Booster?...Busted. I did look at this and yes I don't think there is a way of editing the email on the account, you would have to delete the account, create a new one with the new email and link your profiles. But then, this all seems to hinge on the Codemasters Accounts created for Racenet, which AFAIK isn't 100% functional?

You did good.
-
You could do worse than plug it in a PC, check the firmware and read the manual about resetting the centre value.
-
From previous experience this stuff is accessible and there is feedback from the beta, so I hope you applied.

Fresh install of Windows or just the game?

Firewall settings or maybe Windows 7? This is why you need to post a bug report and / or read the forum before posting.
