PC (Steam) - Can't connect to any lobby multiplayer since Patch v1.20 (FIXED)

Yes you better give more detail as that isn't an explanation of either what you had or what you changed. -
F1 2019 [PC][Crash] Game crashes in between races
steviejay69 replied to V7k3ng's topic in Technical Assistance
I definitely recommend 442.74 -
solved F1 2019 doesn't launch at all

What is the 'Realtek Bluetooth A/V Remote Control Target Device' in your dxdiag? Generally if you press keyboard the game keeps the keys labelled. If you use another input device, they switch. -
solved PC - Crashing to desktop April - NVIDIA

@ElNiño43 and @DRJeeBus if you would be so kind as to post dxdiags, it may help to figure out the commonality to this unusual problem. 👍 -
Have you calibrated your pedals? Depending on the pedalset there will be software/drivers to install. These may give a control panel where you can update the wheel or set the rotation. Simpler pedalsets calibrate in the Windows 'Devices and Printers' CP applet. In-game it's always wise to fully press and release the pedals before assuming control (i.e. in the pitlane or before the countdown to a TT lap).

Editing the actual actionmap file that your controller uses. It's more complicated to explain here when it's been explained well enough elsewhere. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\F1 2019\actionmaps

Flashing status on Unranked Lobby I created
steviejay69 replied to codexas's topic in General Discussion
Nobody will race anyone spectating. Post a picture of the 'flashing', it's most likely you have some kind of NAT error (the reasons can be misconfigured routers, VPNs or ISP restrictions). -
LGS should only be used on older Logitech wheels (DFGT, G25, G27), for G29/G920 use G-Hub. PCARS2 issues notwithstanding.

Receiving 5/10 second time penalties for cutting a corner under SC/VSC conditions
steviejay69 replied to psYchovic77's topic in Technical Assistance
It's like the track limits detection goes on holiday under SC/VSC. And yes the penalties are "boom". -
solved PC - Crashing to desktop April - NVIDIA
steviejay69 replied to Spitfire79's topic in Technical Assistance
If the game has NEVER started, try something like this.... If this does work please post a dxdiag (with your monitor type) and we will see if there is a common cause, might be connection. -
You need to Google "F1 2019 action maps" and edit yours. The wheel is not officially supported, but you may get some joy here.

solved F1 2019 doesn't launch at all

This is unlikely a fix for many. The most probable issue is the 445.75 to be replaced with 442.74. -

@Redhunt your free space on system drive C:\ is low. Please reset your page file to system managed. Also do a file clean up and uninstall unnecessary programs. Maybe reset or manage system restore points (clear them down). Also dxdiag still shows 445.75, please revert to 442.74 as requested. -
[PC] Microsoft Sidewinder & appdata egodumper crash
steviejay69 replied to y0han123's topic in Technical Assistance
Updating the BIOS will give improvements all-round, not just in this game. It's almost a "no-lose" game. Try disconnecting the other display if you do not use it. Modern cards can 'sense' the connection, even if the display is turned off or not selected as primary. You can always reconnect it for infrequent use. Running with V-SYNC off just makes the card produce as many frames as it can. But, with timing an issue it is sometimes better to match the effort to the frequency the display can be updated. The benefit is the card is not making frames it can't display. There may only be an older frame in the buffer and work on another may be aborted and the work on another then be executed too late. The disadvantage is either the card sends too many frames and the display cannot sync (blanking), the visuals stutter (frames ready too early / too late) and the advantage is the card can run within a defined power state rather than being run at maximum. This can prevent borderline issues with power draw or temperature / cooling. Also efficiency is improved as the card will probably run with less average power draw, good for economy and good for longevity. Heat ages and eventually kills. -
F1 2019 Manual starts problem with Logitech G29 on PS4
steviejay69 replied to Goforthegap1's topic in General Discussion
In the classics, I believe some cars are configured to be able to use the actual clutch pedal. It is worth exploring whether the clutch is registering correctly on a PC. Logitech potentiometers can get dirty. -
Just to be clear, on a manual clutch start the game has to be configured for manual start. The procedure is to hold the clutch when prompted by the game and first gear is selected by the game when the throttle is deployed and the paddle is held. The default mapping for the clutch is the right paddle which is double-mapped to upshift function as well. Have you tried deleting all custom control schema profiles? After you do that, if you restart the console fully and try again. At what point do you connect the G29 to the PS4? Have you tried another USB port?

[PC] Microsoft Sidewinder & appdata egodumper crash

Thank you for asking about the BIOS, the only stupid questions are the ones that don't get asked. 🙂 It's a DOS-mode .exe is SPIFLASH.EXE so it won't work in Windows (you would need to create a DOS boot-disk). Once you've extracted the .zip you only need the 78LTUB36.F2 file which you copy to the root of a FAT32 USB stick. Use the DEL key on startup to enter the BIOS - from there use the Q-Flash utility to update the BIOS (I have checked the manual however, and can see no reference to Q-Flash but) it is usually invoked with the F8 key from the first BIOS screen (not on boot). From there you should be able to save a copy of the old BIOS (I normally save as OLDBIOS.BIN) then you can browse to the update file mentioned above and update to F2. As for the game, use DX12. Turn V-SYNC ON and set to 60Hz. Both your displays are 60Hz, running with V-SYNC OFF has no benefit. -
Are you saving the profile when exiting the control schema? Is the wheel selected (with the tick in the controls main screen)?

F1 2019 Telemetry output 2019 mode broken. Only works 5760x1080, 1920x1080 does not.

Are you directing the telemetry to one device or using broadcast mode? What is the send rate you are using? Have you tried all the options? -

Did you DDU? If you did not, it won't take too long to try. Really appreciate your help, trying to cut down on the noise here. If this is a genuine bug, it can be addressed. If it is driver-related, we must direct it back to whence it came (i.e. Nvidia). -
I hear you @BarryBL one thing you HAVE to get through to the developers and game managers is DO NOT GO AFTER THE CASUAL MARKET. The last two broadcasts should have been an excellent chance to showcase a product to a slightly wider audience. Everyone is starved of sporting entertainment at present, hell I even watched the virtual Grand National (backed 5th place, typically 🙂 ) but to compare the two - apples and oranges as they were, sadly I can't see how anyone new to the game or the sport could have had their interest held for more than 20 seconds before turning over. Esports is as Esports does, but quite honestly (and notwithstanding it being presented as a bit of fun) the whole tone of the broadcasts do nothing to promote the worth or value of anyone associated with it (Simracing). People will argue (and I agree) that this is pretty far from Simracing as presented. Comparing it with the Esports seasons as presented so far on F1 2017 and F1 2018 they were far more engaging and entertaining DESPITE being aimed at the gaming community. Let's be honest, as far as TV is concerned, it's done. Virtual to real life was done with GT Academy on Gran Turismo - Jann Mardenborough and his ilk. Actually graduated to real seats in real top level events (F2 and Le Mans). F1 will never take Esports seriously as the time to do so was passed under the stewardship of the poison dwarf (Bernie Ecclestone) although you should be careful what you wish for as Liberty (Chase Carey and cronies) are just trying to up the hype and razmatazz US stylee. They are alienating their current customer base and clearly do not have a clue how to progress, they are out of their depth; as the handling of the whole lead up to the non-start of this season in Australia and the lack of leadership and a plan for going forward. This ultimately is reflected in their decision to re-award the license / franchise for the F1 title back to Codemasters and their lack of interest in the trashing of what is left of the sport. Core game is paramount. Core fanbase is paramount. You're not seeing the signposts. They are clear to almost everyone else!

1 Lap Penalty Given - No Explanation?
steviejay69 replied to hellingN4's topic in Technical Assistance
This has occurred before @BarryBL if you look in some of the other threads, it has happened in career mode a lot where people win the race on their screen but are classified a lap down and therefore last. -
IDK what hardware he runs but the latest Nvidia driver seems very iffy. But that then assumes a level of awareness about the technical side that we're not sure he's abreast of. Also, this week I did not watch his stream, just the F1/Sky coverage via YT.
