If its not that much of a problem to change it using arrows, they might wanna thing about deleting the hotkey-feature at all?
I think it is pretty simple: if you implement a feature like hotkeys, it should be working - if it's not working don't implement it at all.

There is no place for arguing about how easy it is even without that hotkey-feature... if it's that easy, why is there the possibility for hotkeys at all?

I was wondering bout the same as wiidesire... at least i know now i'm not the only one with that bug.

So please Codemasters.. fix this - can't be to hard since hotkeys are working in practice and race too...

    Mode 0 and Mode 2.

+/- 1 Hotkey can’t work for that reason.

Not mocking, imagine you are the guy that has to tell people that this is ‘by design’.

But, fundamentally 0+1 or 2-1 will always be 1 and Mode 1 isn’t available to you in Qualifying.

Enough to make you weep. Beta testers did protest but alas the Masters of Code would not listen.

thanks for the reply, but no. doesn't works

done everything you suggest, but after the introductive video EGO dumper starts popping and it's impossible remove it.

with the Beta i haven't this problem.

No, nobody had issues like the final game does during the beta. I expected there to be some compatibility issues but there were none.

So Codemasters, what did you put in the final game that you didn't put in the beta? Someone knows.

My only guess would be that the game loads something corrupted and crashes, so if you want, you could do a full reinstallation of the game. That'd basically be uninstalling the game through steam, then removing anything that the game folder could still have inside it, and then installing the game again.

I'm out of ideas really 😕

    E: Ah, hey Barry!

When you say game folder, do you mean the '..\Documents\My Games\F1 2020' folder that could be being backed up in One Drive or synced across devices using a Microsoft account or have restricted access if the Protected Folder Access is active in Windows Security? Or do you mean the '..\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\F1 2020' folder, or do you mean the '..\Steam\userdata\[SteamUID]\..' folders that can (are, normally) be synced with Steam Cloud?

This is of course, separate to any switches or options that are set within the game and either change or modify some files like actionmaps in the 'common' folders mentioned?

The way the game saves and reloads data from any of these sources is all a bit random and not cohesive. Plus the game progress save file is monolithic, pretty much one mistake / error and it's corrupt, possibly not useful.

When the game is crashing as frequently as it is, what are the chances that all this stuff gets out of step or constantly reintroduces the information (or lack of it) that is causing yet more errors?

I am not a programmer or anything but I just feel that the game design needs some kind of ground floor rewrite regarding the saving of data and it's verification.

There is no advice on anything like this, people are never asked about game data - often I see people having new profiles (game saves) created randomly and then asking how they can recover their progress. They are also not advised about any of the Windows configuration options and how they may impact the game.

Just an observation, if posting it here gets one person to maybe consider these things then it's food for thought.

So a went to renew my teammates contract and it had boosted his stats like overall from 67-73 but on different screens this hasn't been applied except on my finance screen, anyone else had this problem?

Either this is a question so should be in General Discussion, or it's a bug report and as such should have a bug report completed as per the given template.

    1.       A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. There is a problem with some G29 Steering Wheel. When i installed the game the first time my steering wheel move by itself when i am doing any turns, it seems like the car is going on trails and when i am steering by itself the wheel do another steer an go on trails in that moment i can't do anything. I thought that my wheel was gone, so i go on F1 2019 and the wheel was ok, i came back in F1 2020 and i found this problem again. I uninstall both game and Logitech stuff and reinstalled all, and it seems to be fixed but after one day i had again this problem
    2.       What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) i am using v.1.03
    3.       Game-mode? All game modes
    4.       What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too.  i tried 20 times to restart the game and always when i go on track i have the problem
    5.       What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue. I tried to uninstall all to fix it and install it again it works temporally, i tried to delete the settings in documents/mygames/f12020 folder but no results for this problem.
    6.       What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) i am using a Logitech G29 wheel
    7.       Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears.  It's a problem with the wheel i can't do any video or image of the problems.

    Please post a dxdiag.

The G29 is supported and GHub is the recommended software driver.

    @steviejay69,

I have indeed a CSW V2.5 with the firmware V347 installed. I confirm that the crash to desktop is freezing my wheel (blocked to the left) and that I need to turn off and on again to fix the issue.

    Cheers,

    Oli

Probably a symptom rather than the cause but every little helps. 👍

The 442.74 (Standard GRD) driver stutters but doesn't crash for me, I am on 1909. DDU, GFE not installed.

    https://www.guru3d.com/files-get/geforce-442-74-whql-driver-download,1.html

  7. Anyone running AMD drivers I can report 20.5.1 stable on 1909. DDU'ed, Radeon Settings quick set for Gaming, ReLive recording enabled.

Anyone running Nvidia drivers I can report 442.74 not crashing on 1909 (there is a stutter when beating your rival). DDU'ed, GFE not installed, just driver only.

Discord and Steam overlay running and working OK.

Extended MyTeam and 50% races, TT and GP modes all working ok.

Haven't tested 20.7.1 since 20.5.1 works without issues for me.

On 20.5.1 initial feeling is good. I beat several rivals and the game neither glitched nor crashed on exit nor in Podium Pass.

20.7.1 does introduce new AMD toys, so it looks like there's some kind of pattern emerging (I won't get the all the new stuff as I'm staying 1909 for the time being).

Any ideas? Where's steviejay69 when I need him...

Sorry mate, I sold my Thrustmaster. I guess my input is going to go the way of my Logitech support, I can only go on what I remember worked, but yeah the car understeers at times as if it's only the degree of input you try initially (i.e. if you have a quick turn in the understeer is less obvious than if you turn in more progressively. Turning in more aggressively generally then gives a snap oversteer on occasion so it isn't a tactic 🙂 )

Actually, I do. Gonna try turning it off this afternoon. I also played around a bit with the linearity, but that didn't do anything which kinda supports your theory in the sense that it's not the wheel but the game causing the issue.

Furthermore, do you have any advice on these settings linearity and saturation and such. It's a bit overwhelming and I don't seem to see a lot of difference other than breaking sat (less force needed).

Only the standard explanation of these terms. Increasing linearity only removes the straight line of steering progression (turning effect should be directly related to lock amount, with more linearity it means you get less turning effect initially then it increases as a curve rather than a straight line) and increasing saturation is the opposite (turning effect is like an inverted curve, more saturation means greater turning effect with less lock amount).

So linearity removes twitchiness with limited lock settings and saturation increases turning effect with extended rotation settings.

F1 is designed to use 360 DOR (degrees of rotation) but depending on your wheel rim diameter will feel slower on 30cm and up rims, 28cm diameter is more F1 rim sized.

So the F1 Rim and the Open wheel are the best options for this game.

Weird, never happened to me in the game menus, but the issue seems to be the same, on which GPU have you tested it?

I had 20.5.1 before updating to 20.7.1 without changes, so at this point I don't think it's drivers related.

    Hi everyone.

    1.       A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here.

In my qualy for the Spanish GP, I "fast-forward" the Qualy, then I put a lap. I noticed that I was 8th. I checked the board and I saw that the AI didn't get a lap if I "fast-forward" the time. The AI left the pit and in the same lap, entered into the pit. 1st time I had that, but I hate that bug.

    No code error.

The code referred to is displayed in the settings menu and changes each time you start the game is in the 4x4 format  e.g. ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP

    Great bug report otherwise 👌

It's a rough diamond. Just needs some polish. I think podium pass is even a better implementation than My Team. I suffer from career fatigue in F1 games and in previous games after doing practice rounds over and over again I ended up browsing the menu and shutting down the console. This podium pass engages me in using parts of the game I would barely touch in the past and pick up career again much more quickly once a few challenge are accomplished.

Overall best F1 game so far in my book. 1.04 also feels like a huge improvement over 1.03 which felt like a mess.

It's a good way to find all the bugs, some of which will never be fixed, sadly. But I agree with you.

    Hi Codies,

    Below an in-game bug report:

    1.       Game freezing and crashing to desktop when improving lap time and getting a higher rank in the leaderboard. It seems to happen when the leaderboard is updating and proposing a new opponent to fight with. The wheel base is freezing and needs a restart after a crash.
    2.       1.03
    3.       Time Trial / Australia
    4.       It happened randomly each time I drive a TT session. It might be linked to the live connection to the leaderboard and its update.
    5.       I don’t know what else I could do than reporting it here.
    6.       Fanatec CS WB V2.5 / Formula wheel 2018 V2 / CSL Elite with load cell.
    7.       No file to upload here but several crash reports sent with my account (Oli Prenten)

    Kind regards,

    Oli

I too have figured out the crash is when you bear your rival.

I also have Fanatec equipment but I have the CSL Elite.

My wheelbase goes into left lock when the TT crash occurs, I turn it off immediately to stop any damage to the motors.

You say your CSW 2.5 freezes? Is it similar to my description? Probably not the issue as there  are guys with G29 that get the crash but I am using Fanatec driver v365 are you using the same?

    Thanks.

I've talked with Hoo and he said they will try something to solve it. But this guy is just a toxic forum member i think^^

Of course not. I’m telling you that the CPU is too old.

If they patch it are you gonna say, well F1 2020 worked?

There is a line in the sand. I think 10 years is beyond pretty reasonable.

    Which GPU do you have?

I had a similar problem after installing 20.4.2 for my 5700XT so I installed the beta 20.7.1 which resolved it for me. Haven't had any issues since.

I tried 20.7.1 today (DDU from 20.4.2) and did a 50% race, no issues. I closed the Podium Pass after having a look and changing the daily challenge and had a black screen crash, hard reset required, no crash dumps, nothing.

Here ya go! Thanks ahead of time for any help

    DxDiag.txt

I'm not running the same version of Windows to you at the moment (nor the same hardware).

The suggestion is not to try to enable any of the new toys from Nvidia as their drivers are green (ho ho!)

So, either globally (or for F1 2020) turn off DLSS and allow the AA to be controlled in-game. In game set the AA to TAA and toggle the FideltyFX either to sharpening or none (just TAA).

  17. Maybe some of you are using or having 'optimisation' applied by your drivers. I have not installed GFE and things look fine (except to echo @TomAAA) in that things look 'washed' or 'brighted' out.

Played with some settings in the hardware_settings_config.xml that some perhaps more knowledgeable (or prepared to experiment) will be able to fiddle with to get the effects you desire.

I would recommend as a starting point removing any driver 'fiddling' or 'auto tuning' that is being applied (goes for AMD (Radeon Settings) and Nvidia) and then seeing where you are.

    HTH.
