I am not from the UK though. I am from Germany and on our Amazon there is an PS4 version. Also what would I need a 70th Edition and a steelbook edition for?

It's useful to those in the UK. Sorry I can't help more.

Now I'd be nice to get some confirmation on who is 'F1'. FOM or FIA?

I've gone back to your original comment and I'm still none the wiser. Who is F1? I answered. Both FIA and FOM are F1. It's like saying who is Association Football?

It's FIFA, UEFA, the (English) FA, the Premier League, the English Football League, the teams (and employees like players and staff), the PFA, the PGMOL, the local (regional) FA's, not least the supporters.

The FIA grant the Grade 1 status, the laser scanning of tracks would be either paid for by the circuit management (directly or indirectly via the inspection certification), but might become the property of the FIA as part of the process or may be made available at a cost directly from the contractor who carried the survey out. Circuit management would do wise to retain the data either way for survey purposes and as a record to monitor track evolution with regard to profile, etc.

The FIA could either control the access rights to the scanning information or it may delegate the rights to access to the F1 Group who then as FOM might view it as commercially useful (maybe even selling it back to the circuit owners or to say, games developers....)

Someone at Codemasters will know. It might even be economically feasible to hire their own survey team, provided clearance (might be permission, might be a fee) is obtained from the circuit owner / operator.

Both. FOM is owned and operated by Liberty, they manage the sport's commercial operation including the race contracts and TV rights. FIA are the regulatory body who set the rules and hold the championship.

FOM have a Concorde Agreement with the teams and the FIA, which expires at the end of 2020.

  4. If there are a lot of applicants, people who spend a lot of time in the game and confirm or report nothing and do not complete feedback could be removed.

Just can't wait to hear the slew of "thoughts" from users after 10 minutes of playing, that have zero chance of making the final game....

You could maybe make the wait useful by trying to find a bug in F1 2019 that nobody has found before then tell Codies about it. If you DID find something new it would probably help with your beta application!

DISCLAIMER!! I I'm not Codies staff so that is only conjecture sorry! 🤣😎

This. Then why not see if the issue is present in the beta? Also, the known issues that people have.

    Hello everyone,

I couldnt find any reliable information about this but those anyone know if there will be the Michael Schumacher Steelbook Edition for PC aswell? I could only find a PS4 version on Amazon right now but I really would love to get one for the PC.

Maybe someone knows something, whether someone from Codies directly can answer this or someone read anything would be much appreciated 🙂

It's always been a GAME exclusive in UK (but it does look like just the 70 edition)

I'm buying a DD1 and V3 pedals, but the pedals won't arrive for a while. So, with no Thrustmaster adapters available to convert the pedal output to USB, I have an idea to use the current T150 wheel.

Open the wheel cover and disconnect the wheel connection to the PCB, and possibly some others such as optical. Use just the pedals through the USB.

    Any thoughts??

You can't do this. The device that is recognised on the USB IS the wheelbase. The pedals are accessories and only work via the wheelbase.

But you're right about the adapters, they're out of stock and frequently. Even the passive Logitech ones for attaching them (Logitech pedals) to Thrustmaster bases are frequently out of stock too.

Lol i would buy a quest in a heartbeat if the game supported it.
It's the other way around. games and developers that respect themselves, believe in their abilities and want to be the avant-garde of new developments just as the real sport is, bring VR to f1.

3 words that summarize every aspect of the codies f1 games: LACK OF AMBITION

Maybe. I'm not going to dispute that. Most moves are made to make financial sense. But VR can't be high on the list for current F1 customers, they've put it in Dirt Rally 2.0 and that's an EGO game.

  8. If you can delete the hardware_settings_config_xml before launching, then try going into the configuration and setting the V-SYNC ON and Medium or High Graphics preset?

Save and exit the game then relaunch and try to play.

Sorry, the dxdiag has not provided the name of your motherboard (I will start qualifying the request of a dxdiag to include these going forward as it is more often than not the case) can you provide them please?

I had the same problem in 2018 and G27 wheel.

Brake pedal was registering press without touch.

It corrected the problem when I added some deadzone, maybe 2-4 to brake pedal.

Any of the Logitech videos online that show the screws being removed can help. G25/G27 and G29/G920 pedalsets are the same, just the gaiters are red on the early pedals and black on the newer ones. The detected pedal travel on the G29/G920 is shorter and the rubber stopper is best left in.

I Don't know when and where but I do remember seeing it confirmed by a Codemasters employee that the wheelbase does indeed affect the handling a bit and those individual quirks remain even with performance set to equal.

Might have been in the forum for f1 2018 though. But i've read nowhere they changed that for this game.

The multiplayer car was what the community was asking for as in previous games the equal cars were the multiplayer cars "balanced" to give very similar performance. In community testing, discrepancies were found (like top speed variances of a few kph) and it was probably fair to say that some cars suited particular driving styles and that setups that worked on one car were not as effective on some others.

But the best players were only able to find 0.2-0.4s a lap difference at most (enough for an advantage for them over a race distance, but this assumes you can perfect every lap and make no errors or different strategy calls, have no damage etc.) Yes, I know. 0.2-0.4s in qualifying is forever - when you're 11th and 0.3s off pole....

Duly, the multiplayer car arrived (I'm gonna call it 'Me Julie' like Seb calls a car by a girl's name!) It was always resisted, alledgedly due to licensing restrictions, but these do appear to have been relaxed. Over the past few games, damage levels increased as these were also part of the rights discussions and age rating, AFAIK. Unfortunately they affect the car so much even at light levels and the amount of retirements for (SIM) damage increased so the mode was quickly forgotten for MP.

So I bottled it...    well not really but not going to do the bios update...  Missus said I would be in trouble if I broke the main computer especially as her laptop is stuck at my daughters house atm..

But I have had a major win and SUCCESS...….   hence why im writing this at 3am.. lol..  couldn't sleep and something was telling me, put the radeon HD6950 graphics card back in.  So done all the stuff and Guess what.  Where as before it wouldn't run past ultra low mode with either graphics card, the HD6950 can run all the way up to ultra high . Sure it laggy at that setting so backed it off to high and might make some more tweaks to fine tune but now I have skid marks on the track etc...

im guessing the ati card has benefited from a clean install

So im good to go as it stands....   done a 25% race distance and didn't crash....    shut the game down on several occasions and it now seems stable.

im thinking.. Do I quit whilst im ahead now. is it even possible the nvidia card was faulty...  ??

    Decision decisions...

It's possible the Nvidia card has drivers that aren't all that great. :classic_rolleyes:

The HD6950 should use the built-in Windows driver (15.7.1) it's five years old but yeah, that's the way to go.

The other thing to consider is whether or not V-SYNC is enabled. F1 2019 ships with V-SYNC OFF by default. High framerates are as much to blame as the 'wrong' settings.

For others can you list resolution (e.g. 1280x720) refresh rate, V-SYNC, AA (TAA/Checkerboard/Off), AF (e.g. 4x) you can get the frame rate from a benchmark?

There are plenty who would say quit while you're ahead, but I stand by always advising BIOS updates for the documented (and undocumented) improvements.

So I uninstalled G Hub and installed LGS. The Clutch is the throttle again but at least I can fix that in reassigning the throttle. But FFB is gone at all. If I bounce into a wall nothing happens or if I lose grip and start to spin there is still no FFB. I´ve tested to turn FFB on and off changed the setting still no FFB.

Aura is not installed anymore since I´ve reinstalled windows.

My Mainboard: Asus Maximus Hero X

Here is my current DxDiag file and many thanks for helping me 🙂

    DxDiag.txt

The Aura device must be in the BIOS, it's still listed in the dxdiag. The manual refers to the control (I've taken the liberty of posting the German)

    Quote

    LED-Beleuchtung

Wenn das System im Betriebsmodus ist Dieses Element ermöglicht Ihnen das Ein- oder Ausschalten der RGB LED-Beleuchtung, wenn sich das System im Betriebsmodus befindet.

    Konfigurationsoptionen: [On] [Off]

    Konfigurationsoptionen: [On] [Off]

I have a tale of my old board and T300 that would not turn off until I disabled ErP support. Looking at the manual, can you try ensuring the G29 is plugged into one of the USB 2.0 ports labelled (3)? Try not to use the USB 3.1 or the front panel connector or a hub (I see the keyboard has one, don't use it for the wheel).

Also if the Razer Mouse and G19 Keyboard are plugged into one of the USB 3.1 ports and any RGB effects are turned off. Also, once any service software has been used to update the firmware in either, just uninstall it for troubleshooting.

Don't plug the G29 PSU into a surge socket either. Direct to the wall mains outlet is best. If you must use a gang socket, try removing as many other devices as possible.

okay will try the 442,74 driver and try the rest you said.

yeah I did DDU the Ati drivers in safe mode twice.. (learnt something new )

just had a look at the Bios update, its a ROM FILE...  what software do you use to access ROM Files.

oh and on another note. In all honesty Steve am I best looking at upgrading the motherboard anyway even if the bios update works  etc.  as it is so old hat now ?

You can't JUST change the motherboard. Doing that you need a new CPU, faster memory (at least, maybe new). I did outline the procedure in an earlier post.

If you are prepared for that, there is nothing to lose doing the BIOS update. If you mess it up (this board has a Crash Free BIOS so you should be OK and you seem willing to learn)

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/P8H61-M_LE/E6476_P8H61-M_LE_series.zip?_ga=2.201837649.1128215772.1588709142-2053938894.1588709142 is the manual if you don't have it.

    Thanks Steviejay,

That makes perfect sense.  I’ve had a look in calibration and can see the brake twitching even after calibrating so it looks like that’s the problem.
I guess setting a deadzone for the brake pedal might sort that.  Or take the pedals apart and have a look...or time for a new wheel and pedals!

    thanks again

All good ideas and in the right order! 🙂

ok weird one as got a new message come up after some changes ... Somebody told me to turn  down the max fps to 60 and textured shadowing off.. Now as im no expert im just trying everything people say

and yes the game crashed but with a message I have never seen before...  said neon error and texture allocation failure... insufficient video memry

Please ensure display adaptor meets required minimum specification..

is that useful info or was the other person just giving me false info?

oh and decided to load project cars up and that seems okay with higher settings it has taken on

DDU and go back to 442.74 for the drivers. 445 Series is future tech, it's not really aimed at your card.

Enable VSYNC. Set the refresh to 60Hz, try 'High' preset.

But yes, seriously the BIOS update and the Windows patch are important. You can try DDU the ATI drivers, even if you think they're uninstalled. DDU works best in Safe Mode.

Hello my name is Alex and I have a problem with F1 2019

So I hear the game sound without problems but the commentators and the radio are silent or work incorrectly. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the game but this problem persists you can maybe give me some tips to fix this problem
    Alex

We have got to have a working issues post as well. Use the arrow on the preview link, not the preview text.

Thanks Chameleon for your input too.. Much appreciated ….

So this is where we are.

    1. removed old ati drivers....

    2. Reverted back to Nvidia 445.98 (disabled ge force experience overlay like before)

At this point I tried loading the game.....  Game runs in ultra low mode as expected...   Turn settings up to next stage (low) and game crashes with ego error.  Game not running in either dx12 or dx11... arghhhhhhhh…

    3. as Steve said done the update to Windows and try again..

Result.. game still crashing to desktop.

    4. So all that leaves to do now is the bios update....  Never done that ever before so that will bedefo a realm into the unknown... lol

anyway just thought I would update due to all the help and Patience people are showing.....

    Thank you

Try deleting the hardware_settings_config.xml before starting the game. That should force a redetect.

Immediately you launch, check the settings are on Medium at least. Save the changes and exit, then test.

Honestly, a lot of these suggestions are in the troubleshooting FAQ - you don't need to disable any overlays unless it is suggested to do so. The Steam overlay suggestion still persists on Steam forums for the game and that was for Nvidia users on the 430 driver series. Outdated information is just dangerous.
