Unfortunately, I tried the firmware install yesterday, but noticed the current version was higher than the one from that link. I wish it was as easy as using the onboard sound without the dongle, but then I sacrifice the mic.

The lack of a driver for this headset is a tad frustrating. Not even any sort of calibration without Windows.

Oh well, guess I'll have to chalk this up as an L and just use my Razer headset. I appreciate you taking a look at this.

I double-checked and oddly the firmware is ONLY for PS4 compatibility, therefore taking it out of the official firmware release schedule (so well done!)

That's odd that you say there is no mic without the dongle.

Make sure all of the connections are correct, including the ones to the control box or extension cable.

    - Check that the microphone is plugged all the way into the head set.

    - If you can verify that audio connections are working using an alternate microphone and speakers.

-See if the headset works with another computer or device.

    - Check your audio settings to make sure the speakers and microphone are enabled and not muted or volume turned down too low. In many cases, the microphone on a computer is disabled or muted.

    - Try to disable any audio software specifically for your audio adapter or other third party audio software and use the default audio controls in your operating system.

    - If you are using the control box, make sure the volume there is turned up. Be aware this volume control is for the headphones only.

    - Verify that the control box mute switch is not in the mute position.

-Check the audio settings in the game or application you are using. If you have tried the steps above and the headphones or microphone are still not working, please contact Kingston technical support for assistance.

    Hi

    Update

I used EVGA Precision X1 to reduce my video memory clock and GPU clock by 100Mhz each, and increase the power target to 105%.

I also discovered I had auto fan control off (not sure if I accidentally turned it off at some point after installing EVGA Precision as just moving the fan slider turns off auto)

Either way the game is currently stable with no crashes. When I feel adventurous I will revert each of GPU and memory and see if the power target helps, and then start playing with the diagnostics included in the software to test stability.

If these are your stock clocks that you are underclocking, try removing the heatsink and renewing the thermal interface material (I use Arctic Cooling MX4), there are usually teardown videos (not always a biggy nor fancy tools) on YT.

Always a good idea to remove overclocks but thanks for posting what is working for you. Also just try a PSU calculator.

If you do get instability, monitoring tools may indicate whether the issue was thermal or power draw ultimately.

My headset's microphone tends to be super-sensitive, so I always use PTT for voice-chats in games. (Yes, I could buy a new microphone, that would be one solution.) When I played my first multiplayer race in F1 2019, I didn't have PTT activated and saw in the top-right of the screen that my microphone was transmitting audio to the game sometimes. (In another race, some other player also had an open mic and we could hear him breathe and stuff all the time - quite annoying.)

So, I've configured my settings to use PTT and chose a PTT key. However, when I press that PTT key, I don't see myself transmitting in the top-right corner of the screen, because the game doesn't seem to be recording my microphone. MFA works btw, so the game does recognize my microphone (and it also did as open mic).

What am I missing here? Oh, and I've already tried different keys for PTT, but that didn't make any difference.

Check the Steam voice chat settings. Also select a default device in Windows (record (comms) and playback). Select the actual device rather than the default. Sometimes it is better to disable devices that are not used. You may also want to play with the mic boost and in the Windows sound settings you may wish to set the Communications option to 'Do nothing'.

You may also want to try a dedicated chat program like Discord. Hope these suggestions help.

posting to confirm that the problem still exist !
Im unable to proper racing with my wheel combo (TS-PC + F1 wheel in advanced mode)
The game don't recognize this combo as a steering wheel, in fact it dont recognize anything at all, i can bind the axis and buttons but it work like a pad (virtual steering in game keep shaking like a visual effect)

This problem came since F1 2018, no fixed in F1 2019.

May be it will be fixed in F1 2020 ? or i will never be able to play?

Firmware v10 (2020_TTRS_1) The update procedure and the driver package are both by following the link.

I recommend before you start you are using Windows 10 and you are logged into an Administrator account.

I find it hard to believe you are the only TS-PC Racer user with the F1 Rim and using in Advanced Mode on PC who has reported this issue (not arguing, just surprised).

I have used the F1 Advanced Rim on T300RS and it does work. Can you post a screenshot of your Thrustmaster Control Panel? It should show the driver, firmware and a picture of the connected rim.

I'm using Windows 10, I updated my gpu driver just yesterday. My game version in 1.0.61.4494 (looked up in properties of executable).

    DxDiag.txt

Can you disconnect the Huion tablet and have you got a basic keyboard (either PS2 or USB). That Supergate (or Genius Slimstar USB has an integrated PS/2 mouse / trackpad).

I feel the game cannot detect the controllers easily.

If you post the hardware_settings_config.xml and the make / model of your motherboard that would also be helpful.

I see you are using the 20.4.1 driver, can you DDU and go back to 20.1.3?

    Hi @datsucks

Can you post a DXDiag? Can you complete the rest of the form please? What game version are you using?

    Have you tried any troubleshooting?

Also, I'd recommend updating to Windows 10

W7 compatibility is only possible from W8 or W10 🙂

    Yes he's tried some.

    I agree!

1.I installed the game, tried to launch but it closes right after black screen with no error. I already turned off antivirus, firewall, steam overlay, tried to launch with admin rights, reinstalled, tried dx 11 and Windows 7 compability.

    I also checked Documents\My Games\F1 2019\hardwaresettings and wrote my screen resolution in hardware_settings_config .

    2.I'm using up-to-date version.

    5.Everytime i'm launching the game.

    7. I'm using Xbox 360 gamepad.

Glad you've tried some basic troubleshooting before posting.

    1. You don't need to take any of the steps except maybe uninstall the AV if you are NOT using MS Windows Defender (it's all you need). I woiuld recommend using an adminstrator

If you have the hardware_settings_config.xml created you don't have the Preotected Folder Access enabled in Windows Security - unless you just enabled it.

Have you checked the Nvidia issue? Post a dxdiag for further help.

    hardware_settings_config.xml

    It is arleady "system managed"

There is no Gigabyte utilities installed.

The CPU temperatures are beetween 40 and 50C

Sfc command is ok. Dism is attached

    dism.log

    No report on the headphones?

    How about GPU temperatures?

To be honest I'm looking at diagnostics next. @BarryBL I don't know if you can pass this to the devs as I can't eliminate the R7 300 hardware.

Try 20.4.1 (just install on top, no need for DDU) and if it's still an issue report it to AMD.

  9. Can you please try with this updated firmware and report back? (I can find no listing for a HyperX Cloud Fury II, just a HyperX Cloud II

Reportedly this update should also enable PS4 compatibility with the USB dongle.

@JoeDaugerdas other USB 7.1 surround devices have poor compatibility with the game. It is unlikely this will be resolved in this game lifecycle. Other users have reported that reverting to a stereo or even 5.1 mode has been a workaround.

The fallback position is you can use the headset directly into your onboard sound. I have the (original) HyperX Cloud myself and it doesn't have a dongle but works great and very comfortable.

    Recenet?! There's another disconnect. 😁

Let's hope the career doesn't become an online feature as in Dirt 2.0.

You are absolutely right, before new features are added, the issues with core game should be fixed. It would be time much better spent than in adding new features (some of those being being features removed from previous editions) which, more often than not, take 2 or 3 editions to be functional.

However I can't see it happening, codemasters history illustrates that. The next big opportunity to get things right is with the next generation consoles. The game engine will have to be updated or even better rewritten from scratch. It will probably be like 15, and the game will suffer for a couple of years, however a more solid foundation is a potential outcome.

Maybe they will produce a game that in my opinion is worth buying. Bring on June and the new release, I can then buy 19 and see if it's as bad as you all say...

You dont have to wait to buy the F1 2019 title

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/f1-2019/bp4h9hd3fswb?activetab=pivot:overviewtab £13.75

    https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/games/f1-2019-xbox-one-uk £16.99

not all that expensive really. Probably worth about that much.

    Great to be back!!

With the lockdown, I dug out my old F1 99 from the loft and installed it under W10 on a Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 i5/8Gb/256Gb and it ran just fine, although the 20 year old Thrustmaster FFB wheel had issues due to lack of W10 drivers and accel/brake pedal swapped over.
So bought a new Thrustmaster Force Feedback Wheel - T150 Pro and F1 2019.  All installed, inc Steam, fine on a 1 TB Seagate Backup USB drive plugged into a generic USB C dock USB 3 port. Plugged the wheel into the laptop USB 2.0 port and a Samsung 28 inch TV Monitor into USB dock HDMI port.
I also installed the Intel Graphics Command Centre app, which seems to have dedicated games settings.
So Laptop now runs 2 displays - PC at native resolution and TV/Monitor at 1366 x 768 but switches to 1920 x 1080 when game is running.  Generally just run the Samsung display - not sure if that is better for graphics performance rather than run PC display as well.
Game runs really well - no lag - and great fun. Think PC has crashed once or twice but after 2 - 3 hours game play and I'm exhausted - sore arms from force feedback. There are a lot of forces involved. The pedals walk about on the carpet and the whole desk bends and twists. So need something stronger!!
With 20/20 hindsight, perhaps I should have bought the business SL3 i5 with 16Gb memory??

Running just the external display is better than trying to run two displays especially with scaling on one.

The laptop probably crashes due to being pegged at high frequency for gameplay.

on my system it installed it says on the 17-04-2020,but i only had issues today the 19th whe the additional security something strange is going on  on my system,or im just dumb but it looks like things are being installed twice just days apart

    Screenshot (3).png

The patches look to be installed twice but it is the SSU that installs and enables the patch to complete successfully the second time. However, some patches have been re-released previously which would also account for two entries for the same KB (usually some days apart though).

i edited my post with new info

    You can see the issues here;

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/resolved-issues-windows-10-1909

there was a problem but was resolved some three weeks ago.

Odd that it was more of an issue on my desktop that has no WiFi no Bluetooth, yet no issues on the laptop that has both.

    version 1909 build 18363.720

i uninstalled x64 KB4537572 and then i hid the update so it wouldnt reinstall using Wushowhide program,so far so gud,be interesting to see if it helps anyone else

You should just be able to pause it using the pause feature for 7 days at a time to a maximum of 35 days by which time we will have the 2020-05 Cumulative Update (May 12) but wushowhide.diagcab will work.

The jury is out on this one. There are no mass reports of issues as yet but I must admit it did not install in a regular fashion on my desktop but the laptop was/is unfazed.

You haven't ever updated the BIOS.

I'm going to suggest you do this in jumps, just in case. Any warnings go back one build and try the one previous (or use the USB Flashback feature). You need to unzip the download and copy to a FAT32 USB and use EZFlash (in BIOS) section 3.11 in the manual describes the process.

    1602

    1901

    2203

If you hit an issue, don't panic as USB Flashback should recover the system. Section 2.2 of the manual describes the USB flashback port and the different procedure. If you have to go this route, use the last version (2203) renamed as M10H.CAP

    DxDiag.txt

    Uninstall Aura.

    Uninstall LGS and use G-Hub.

If you could also post your motherboard make and model, it's not in the dxdiag, thanks.

Also the report is not final 🙂

Is anybody else having audio problems in multiplayer?

My audio is working perfectly in single player but when I connect to multiplayer I am having issues.

If I "mute all" the volume disappears to virtually nothing and I need the sound at 100% to hear anything. Or, I leave everybody un-muted and I'm picking up some else's audio making it impossible to drive the car.

    Any ideas?

(At least NM14 isn't plaguing me today)

You need to set the Start|Control Panel|Sound(Your sound source)|Communications preference to 'Do nothing' then your mixer settings will stick.

You can adjust the audio levels of different things in-game.

I wouldn't advise Steam comms, most good multiplayer sessions use Discord or something similar.
