  1. So tempting to mark as spam :p

I really hope they find some solution to the spam soon though, this sort of thing should not be happening. I know they are trying to get something new to work here which will hopefully stop it though.

  2. Does anyone here have a MacBook? Or to be even more specific, a Pro? My best mate has saved up and bought himself one for the start of university, and it's damn awesome. He's made me want to buy one now :p

Anyway, if you have one, would you recommend it? Also been looking at the new Surface 3/Pro 3, which again looks quite neat.

Please no Apple hate @RevolvingPrawn :p

  3. Ah dear, wasn't hoping to wake up to this news. Absolutely tragic, feel so sorry for his family.

On the topic of the closed cockpits, they have to be looked at now, pretty much every serious incident in this generation of open wheel motor racing involves the head area. The actual protection of the driver in crashes has improved so much, but it's of course, the head which is still exposed.

It's so difficult to find a good solution though. I've seen so many concepts and while they all have some positives, they almost all have some negatives too which would cause more problems.

As one of you said, I don't think it's the oval that was the issue here. It could have easily happened on a road course.

LMP1 cars are obviously now all closed cockpit cars, but it's different of course due to the design of the cars, so they get in through the side window door. You couldn't do that in IndyCar or F1.

I prey that this sort of thing doesn't keep happening. Some of these accidents have just been a case of wrong place at the wrong time, but there's been too many near misses that could have easily turned out in serious injury or death if the cars were inches in different directions. (Chilton Silverstone 2014, Alonso Spa 2012, Schumacher Abu Dhabi 2010).

  4. I don't use the forum on my phone or iPad, I only go on it when I can get on a PC/laptop. It's so damn slow on the iPad, and it usually takes forever to load my typing. I can use any other website, but not this forum, so annoying.

  5. Yeah I haven't managed to catch the race yet, but I have seen the clip and man, that was nasty. Glad he is ok, but you know it's gonna be a big one when the race coverage director changes to another camera view.

  6. @PeteTheDuck And in my opinion editing my post wasn't needed. The person who reported messaged me why they did and it's a fair and legit reason. But I'd like to point out the fact that I do happen to own an Xbox One. And that sometimes people with the power to edit other's posts are far too OTT when it comes to editing them.

FREE SPEECH! (which wasn't hurting anyone)

Less of the PC > consoles please. I don't want to have to close this thread.
You mansack. Totally unnecessary and needless editing of my post, you can't understand that the peasant vs master race thing is just a big joke? And the only thing likely to close this thread is stupid editing of a post that didn't need editing at all. Censorship at it's best.

Consoles are potato's, a high end PC is like a chocolate gateau made by Gordon Ramsay.
I'm in a bad mood atm so jokes are going over me and it was in the reported threads section, don't take it personally.
Maybe editing post's and moderating when in a bad mood isn't such a good idea? Clearly a butthurt console player defending his potato that reported the post.
I think you were a bit over the top with the whole mansack thing, wasn't needed.

And consoles aren't potatoes, I just bought one myself you see! If it was a potato it'd be mashed potato though because it's damn incredible.

    Just look at it!

  8. Ha, I remember! No it wasn't, it was the first swimming pool chicane, the second apex before the braking zone. You should be able to get close to the wall but I can't without it spinning me out. It's pretty annoying.

There are some things which have made the game much better, but they aren't ground breaking things. They're subtle, things like the kerb vibration noises, the noise of scraping a wall, the reflections on the advertising banners.

  9. Right chaps, I'm very pleased to say that I've joined the PS4 squad! I was lucky enough to receive the 1TB edition for my birthday. I set it up this morning and so far I've only played F1 2015. The other games I got were GTAV and Destiny, but I've also got DriveClub thanks to PlayStation Plus which is cool! If any of you fancy some online racing at all then let me know, or if you wanna add me on there, up to you of course.

But back to F1 2015. If I had to sum it up in a word, I would say, with regret, 'disappointing'. I'll start with the positives. The graphics are immense, and the game looks so nice, it's beautiful to watch everything go by, such a huge improvement.

But my god, the bugs. Hit an invisible wall in Monaco three times which ruined my races, and then in this one 5 lap race there I started on pole, led comfortably and won the race, yet the results said I finished in 17th place and eighteen seconds behind the winner.

I mean, how the heck can that happen? I watched the replay back just to make sure I wasn't going insane, and fortunately I wasn't. I finished 1st, but it said 17th on the results. Unbelievable.

Online is a bit disappointing too, found it very hard to find lobbies to play on. Also there's no safety car, just disappeared without anyone saying about it. TV broadcast style, again, disappointing. They could do so much more with it.

It's not quite what I expected next-gen F1 to be. I remember Hatta saying it was a brand new direction for F1 games, but it's really not what I was expecting.

  10. I know why he was nervous, dem pesky AS Levels!

I meanwhile also got my results, but for the whole thing. I got B, C, D, which is what I was hoping for actually, in art, history and music respectively.

Next year I'm doing at art, design and media foundation course. Fortunately the offer was unconditional so my grades didn't matter too much, but yeah, pleased!

Hope you did well Chris, sure you did.

One of my mates was depressed for the whole morning at the fact he only got A, B, C, irrespective of the fact he got into his first choice uni doing a course he's wanted to do for years....

  11. I always seem to be asleep or busy when the spam bots come out to play. It's gonna be my turn soon.

Do you vBulletin guys remember that you weren't allowed to make a new thread until you had posted 15 comments? I think this forum could do with something like that so at least there wouldn't be all these threads.

  12. Oh that is absolutely fantastic! To be honest though I'm surprised he's not writing some relationship advice column for something like OK Magazine!

In other news, it was my birthday yesterday and I was given Max Mosley's autobiography as a present (yes I did ask for it). I'm not one for reading but it's so damn good I can't put it down! Already on page 80 something which is quite a milestone for me.

I also might buy Mark Webber's new book, just to read about his times at Red Bull to be honest :p

Do you guys remember a kid called Jakeyboy? Anyone involved in VRL probably will as he spammed like heck, made about 100 accounts.

Anyway, it looks like he still hasn't matured, judging by his tweets which I happened to stumble across when Circuit of the Americas tweeted this in response to some hate he sent them (which they also retweeted, the legends).

Was it not Joey that made the millions of accounts?
    Anyway, I do remember Jakeyboy.
Oh yeah it was :p Ah man, that guy...
