  1. So who here watched it? I watched this live instead of the GP2, I'll catch that this evening.

How much of a disappointment was Trulli though? No apparent problems with his cars, yet he finished last after starting on pole. That takes some skill, not gonna lie. Trulli train after three or four laps, overtaken about ten times in the space of three laps, used up more energy than the others. Awful.

Di Grassi did a great job, so controlled, and how lucky was he to break down after the line! Good job by d'Ambrosio too, and Piquet to recover to 5th.

The circuit seemed good for overtaking, but it lacked an atmosphere I felt. There was only about two grandstands located on the pit straight and at the end of the circuit, and nothing anywhere else. It was empty, the place looked drab.

Was funny that the autograph session took place in the airport though, with the drivers sitting on the old check in desks! :p

    Moscow next and then London!

  2. I'm not surprised that it's delayed. What I am surprised about is the massive lack of announcement of this fact. I only realised when I read the forum, as there was no official statement about it until a couple of hours after the video.

I'll be honest, the lack of any true gameplay is frustrating me. The teaser trailer might show off the visuals well (even though a couple of shots were bad with the textures), but only proper gameplay shows it off. Screenshots are ok, but it doesn't beat good ole' gameplay.

Why can't F1 2015 have the same sort of publicity treatment as DiRT Rally has got? All the time on Twitter it's new things, so open about everything, but F1 2015 has had virtually nothing. We were hinted that we'd be treated to some dev diaries, and behind the scenes access like never seen before, but that's not happened, yet...

I just hope that we're bombarded with a tonne of new info, gameplay (no, not trailers, actual proper gameplay with the HUD and everything), dev diaries, just as much as possible.

This is meant to be a new direction for the F1 series I believe, but it looks same old to me, there's nothing to suggest it's such a massive improvement.

  3. Yeah I like to think it was good too. I think the format we had for everything worked on the whole, it's just a shame that the excitement sort of fizzled out.

I'd love to try a league out again at some point, but I'd want to have a proper forum that I save up and pay for if possible, where we can really customise it. Change a few things round, new games etc.

When we first started I tried running pretty much everything for the first year (championship standings, stewards decisions, forum setup, rules and regs, etc) but when it got to the start of 2014 I realised it was too much to do, I got behind on stuff and I just gave up tbh, I had more work going on too so it just got too much.

  4. Actually that's a good point Platy about the manufacturers. I think it would be so good if there were like six engine manufacturers. It's just a shame the new engines don't have the sound like they used to. I wish they could keep the technology, as it's very impressive, but have that same 'OMG' feel that the V10s and V8s used to have.

  5. Yeah I've just been watching some of it too. The cars just look visibly faster, they take the corners so much quicker, their acceleration is better. It amazes me that the cars are about 5 or 6 seconds slower than 10 years ago.

I know F1 is trying to look eco-friendly and the technology is very impressive, but this is Formula 1 and I think it shouldn't really matter. The tiny amounts of fuel saved is nothing when you look at the rest of F1 (safety car, transport of everything around the world, etc). It should be creating loud and fast engines.

  6. Have any of you lot downloaded Periscope onto your phone? If you haven't then you really have to, it's my new favourite app without a doubt.

It's basically a live video streaming app and a lot of people use it for streaming events. What makes it really cool is you can comment on the live video and it appears for the streamer, so they can speak to you in return.

Daniel Abt (Formula E driver) was using it earlier and showing us around his garage and I asked him a few questions and he answered right away. Circuit of the Americas were up in the big tower showing the preparation for the X Games there, and I asked him to show us particular things and he did it (glass floor for example).

Lee was streaming Paul Coleman on it the other day too, playing DiRT Rally.

I've only had it for a couple of days but it's so good, you have to download it.

  7. I'm glad I filled them both in.

Gotta say though, what a good thing for Motorsport.com, they've really got one up on Haymarket with that survey. The fact it's backed by the drivers is quite something.

A few big names from Autosport have left for Motorsport.com and they're really growing fast.

@PeteTheDuck I know i have not exactly been nice. but please hear me out... including you're self... and all of us... why do we have to go around fishing for information? why can't anyone here tell us about the progress on things... communicate things better to us, inform us about problems such as the little delay thing so people do not assume things. i think we would all be better off. I see you as a mod.. i would assume you are in the Codemasters payroll. if you hardly know whats going on 90% of the time... what chance do we have? This sort of shows you guys are kind of just going about in the clouds. Do you see my point? I am trying to be civil and communicate but its hard when you guys act like secret agents.
Just to make it clear, I am in fact not associated to Codemasters in any way at all. I'm not paid to be a moderator, I volunteered and I do it at home in my free time. This means I have no more information on the game as any of you do.

@DarkRedslayer I won't give you a warning this time but please watch what you say in future please. I understand your opinions and frustrations but there are other ways of putting it.

Can we please put a stop to these pathetic arguments. I'll be honest, I can understand the opinions of all of you and it's obviously quite an odd situation with how this has all come about.

If you are frustrated with particular members then please send one of us moderators a PM saying why that is the case. We will deal with it wherever needed. Doing this is 99% of the time, better than telling that member through a post.

Hopefully we can move on with the discussions now.

I hope so @PeteTheDuck, I never understand why it becomes personal...?

I'll have to repeat this again because it seems to get mislaid in all the other quotes but..., All I am here for is information, plain and simple, and I certainly don't ever want to be involved in meaningless conversations about who's right or wrong, that's not what this forum is about...

From this moment on, I will do my part as generally I'm not a vindictive person, so I will refrain from making any post/s that contain any information I have acquired, that way it should prevent fellow members from making posts directed to myself...(However why they need to make those posts to begin with is beyond me)

My concentration will be nothing more than that of F1 2015, however should I receive or witness any further posts/comments directed to me personally, then of course I will contact you through PM...

    Thankyou!

I may be wrong, but I think people were possibly disappointed that this amazing 'source' you acquired seems to be the one of the game being delayed, and they're failing to see how this is such good news for the game. They're obviously sceptical about this statement, and sceptical about how you got it in the first place. I'll be honest, I'm one of these people, but I'm not going to discuss that...

I said this a couple of days ago, but by posting that you have this information, you're gonna get people asking you how you got it and what it is about. You need to realise this, so people will direct posts to you. Obviously there's different ways of doing this and I'm sorry you feel 'bullied' by some of them.

Just want to say my apologies for my lack of presence on the forum recently. I've been ridiculously busy with exams and stuff in my life so the forum's had to take a back seat!

Going back to the topic of discussing Project CARS, and this is my personal opinion, I don't have any problem with you discussing it here, but just as long as it has a connection to the F1 games please. Otherwise I'll just move the posts to the off-topic forum where this is already a Project CARS discussion happening.

I'm really hoping we'll see some new stuff in the next week. Can't believe it's less than a month to the launch, it's come round so fast!
I doubt many people pre-order blind, with no trailer, so they'd better release some stuff soon. Or those sales will be poor.
Yeah, I haven't pre-ordered yet (mainly because I don't have a console to play it on yet :p) but I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen any video footage yet.

I'm in no doubt that when we do eventually see it it will be impressive, if the screenshots are anything to go by. I'm looking forward to potential developer diaries, I loved them in F1 2010, F1 2011 and F1 2012. I've been banging on for the past year at how good they were and how they should definitely return.
