  1. It shouldn't, but it winds me up when you send a friend a message and they don't reply for hours.

A mate sent me a Snapchat saying he's off to the barbers (he has long-ish wavy hair), so I said send me a pic of the result. It says he opened the snap 3 hours ago, so I expect it's done by now, but nope, nothing.

And later I have a show where I'm playing in the orchestra with some mates, so I messaged one of them saying 'do you know what the plans are for tonight of who's doing the lifts for the show?'. It says he read it at 12:07 but two and a half hours later, still nothing. All it takes is a 'yes, I'm doing it' or a 'no, not sure'.

It shouldn't wind me up but it's just annoying...

How long do you have left on your contract? The Z3 is just mind-blowingly good dude, still using every feature turned on, took it off charge just after 8am this morning and I'm on 60% left atm :)
    A long time :weary:
@PeteTheDuck Weird.... Doesn't work on my tablet or phone, same for my mum and my mate from work. Did you actually ask Siri something or just hold the button down? Seems many people are having the same problem as me looking at the net. It's probably Dave sabotaging Apple :joy:
I held the button down and then asked it something. Came back perfectly fine on both iPad and my iPhone 5C.

  3. There is definitely going to be F1 2015 and a new DiRT game at some point, timings aren't known yet. I'm honestly not sure what's happening with GRID but I wouldn't be surprised if something wasn't happening in that area.

By the way, while I am a moderator, I'm not connected to Codemasters in any way, so I'm just stating what I know and think as a fan!

  4. Dude, if that's you on that pic, you look like Marc Marquez.
Yeah that is me, and um, really?! :p I guess in that picture I look a bit like him...

But I can't believe he blocked me, it wasn't that bad, especially in comparison to what AL0NS0FAN used to tweet people before he was banned from Twitter :p

In reply to that tweet, I said:

So I then received this notification a couple of minutes later:

I couldn't help but have a chuckle at this, but then when I went on his profile a couple of minutes ago, this was the result!

    Ah, wonderful.

Hamilton gets a BTCC drive: http://downforce-radio.co.uk/nicolas-hamilton-gets-btcc-deal-for-2015/
I initially assumed Lewis for a moment, but then realised of course, Nic races too :p

But good for him! Will be interesting to see how he gets on this year.

  7. Well that was an average race in my opinion, but obviously a fantastic result for Lewis! Great job by Nasr too for 5th and a real shame for Verstappen to retire! And a standard start to the season: Maldonado crashes at Turn 1!

I don't know about anyone else but I found Schwarzennegegersezzeger was annoying on the podium! I know he's obviously not a real follower or fan of F1 but he asked all the drivers about bloody fitness and concentration or whatever, and not about the race.

  8. The new updated Formula1.com website is now live! Looks much better than the previous one and after 12 years it was about time they had a change. It looks great, and it works well on iPad and mobile, and the apps are good too! There's a new F1 Access section too which if you pay a monthly fee gives you more features. It looks very good so I might consider getting it.

Also it looks like we're gonna be treated to some brand new FOM TV graphics tomorrow so it'll be good to see how they look during a live session, and what new features they may integrate in the coverage.

The community, and ultimately the ones who pay for your product, have asked for podiums since 2009/10. It has never been brought in. Infact the only feedback we ever got was Steve Hood saying 'I didn't feel it would add much'. Well that's all well and good if he's gonna buy
When he says that, there's a bit of a wider connotation. That isn't one guy looking at something everyone wants and saying "but I don't want it therefore we don't do it". It's more a case of: does the thing requested add enough to make it worth the stuff that would need to be sacrificed to make it happen?

If that isn't a trade off we can justify, then that's as far as it goes at this point. I understand the frustration from your perspective when things you want don't make the cut (I am the same way with Tycoon games!) and it's frustrating for us as well when we can't. We know very well who we make the game for, and we get a much bigger kick out of seeing you guys post about stuff you like than stuff you don't, I assure you! I hope it's not too long before we can talk about the next game. I think there is some stuff you'll like.
Sometimes a feature in a game may not mean something physically, but it adds to the player's experience of the game, if you know what I mean? I remember last year someone asked Steve Hood on Twitter whether you could choose your own driver number to use in the game and his exact words were...

'No you can’t pick a number. I didn’t want to add it unless it meant something in-game. That will take longer.'

Well to me it 100% means something! J
ust because a feature in a game may be mechanically redundant it doesn’t mean it won’t add anything to a game. In a lot of the really great games, the player’s imagination plays a massive role in the experience because the player is mentally involved and putting a bit of him/herself into the game. It’s immersion, and without immersion it’s just a video game rather than an involving experience.

Immersion is basically the reason as to why F1 2010 was so good for me, it’s why I played it day after day. The press conferences and interviews are gone in the latest game, and it doesn’t feel like I’m personally taking part in the races. I’ve just taken over someone else’s car. If you could have your own number, it would be your car. What about that helmet designer that so many fans have wanted since F1 2010 was released? Yes, I know there are already 30 or something pre-sets, but having your own helmet, with your own colours, your own designs, that makes it feel like you are in the car.

  10. Well I can't believe it, I smashed the screen on my iPhone 5C :( fell off my music stand in an orchestra rehearsal earlier and the bottom corner is all smashed!
Perfect timing! You can switch to a superior Android phone now ;) The HTC One M9 comes out on the 31st, or you could pick up a Z3 (which I'll be phoning EE to order on Friday) or a One M8 for some decent prices.
Ha, never! I'll just get the screen replaced and continue to use my awesome phone as always!
