Yeah it's the last turn of Russia, well done Tom! Thought that might have been a hard one but everyone's too good here :p -

Guess the corner please! -
It could be the fact it was a side impact because I know they seem to send more shock waves through the body, so it may not look big from the outside but the energy going on in the accident is massive.
Allan Simonsen's crash at Le Mans a couple of years ago is quite a good example. Didn't look like a particularly big shunt but it obviously unfortunately took his life. There was also a driver of a touring car at Macau a couple of years ago who died from a side shunt, but it looked very small from the outside. It could be that. -
Ha, 21 or 22 is hardly old! I bought my first steering wheel a couple of months after F1 2010 came out, which must have been like a year and a half after DiRT 2? Can't believe I've had it for nearly 5 years now! Still works perfectly.TURBODEVIN19 said:
Thanks a lot for making me feel old, just realised I was 16 when I first played the demo which made me buy a proper pc and a steering wheel, and lots of awesome games :smiley:PeteTheDuck said:It really was! I played it not long ago and it it took me back to my 13 year old self :P -
You may or may not have already seen this but this video is a great insight into how the Formula 1 TV show is made! It's the first 20 mins of BBC's 2010 Singapore GP coverage, showing all 3 cameras, the main TV feed and it also has the director's speech too.

You have to admire Jake here, I don't know how he does it! He's able to talk perfectly with the director talking in his ear, whilst looking at whatever camera he needs too, also thinking of ideas of how the cameras should begin sections (walking around the McLaren/mentioning that Alonso is getting ready behind him then cutting to a shot of him). Really interesting stuff personally! -
I just joined the Codies league!ChrisMayhew said:PeteTheDuck said:
No problem, and thanks for fixing it! I do already have an account yes, but I can't remember what the Email/password combination is (think it's an Email I never use any more) and I'd just like to set up a brand new name as I don't actually use PeteTheDuck anywhere else now.ChrisMayhew said:
Thanks for letting me know! If I remember right you already have an account with us? I'm sure I've seen a similar username in our database!PeteTheDuck said:Hey Chris, I played this a couple of years ago and loved it so I'm definitely playing again this year!
However, I want to register with a new account but when I click the register page a message from my browser says 'This web page has a redirect loop'? I use Chrome btw. All the other pages on the website work perfectly fine.
I will however checkout the register page now, I think I know what's causing it!
Edit: I've managed to sort this out, Thanks again for letting me know :)
Ah fair enough :) Glad to have you on board this year.
We do have a Codemasters league setup as well :)
It was so hard choosing my team! I used up every penny on it so I have nothing to spend on a prediction or bet! -

I don't know but that gusty wind statement from McLaren seems a bit weird to me. Surely someone like Fernando Alonso would be able to cater for strong winds?
Obviously at an F1 race weekend all the cars have onboard cameras and there's about a million other off board cameras and fans in grandstands filming who see any accidents. But during testing there aren't any cameras filming so it's unclear as to what could have happened. That was the same with the Nasr and Wolff collision on day 1. I wonder if they'll make onboard cameras something the cars must have in future tests, because then the teams/FIA can view it and it would be clear what happened in something like this. -
It really was! I played it not long ago and it it took me back to my 13 year old self :P -

The track is Paul Ricard.
btw, I've got a good one for you all coming up soon! -
That's basically the American version of Sniff Petrol :p original!
-
Do any of you read Sniff Petrol? If you don't it's basically a load of made up articles about cars and motorsport, and they're really funny to read!
I think we should set up some kind of blog website of a similar nature, but focusing just on motorsport? We can all write a short funny article and we can post them up for people to read and basically have a laugh at!
I can think of some good ones to do with F1 right now, such as 'F1 bans mid-season facial hair changes'. Just a bit of fun! Any thoughts on a name? :p -
I see what you mean actually with the smoothness of shots! Just watched highlights from Catalunya in both F1 and MotoGP and the shots do seem smoother generally for MotoGP. -
Why did I go to McDonald's today, the table opposite me of around ten thirteen and fourteen year olds is infuriating. -
So drivers will be banned from changing their helmet design mid season now! Of all the apparent problems they could try and fix in F1, and they choose that... Yet another perfect example of F1 fixing a problem that never existed. -
You got it Prawn! -
Time for a new game whilst we await the start of the new Formula 1 season!
The rules are simple and very similar to the Guess the Corner game. As before, other members have to guess and if they get it right then they can have a go at submitting an image.
When submitting an image, you have to list which elements of it you want people to guess. It could be one, two, three, four or all of the following:
- Driver
- Car
- Track
- Corner
- Year
That means you could simply post a picture of a helmet or a car without a track in sight, for example.
Anyway, let's start with this one:
So in this image I want you to guess:
- Driver
- Track
- Year
Go!
P.S. Excuse the pathetic thread title. I couldn't think of anything better and 'Guess the Elements of the Formula 1 related image' sounded too weird. -
Moved from 'Codemasters - General Discussion' to 'F1 Games - Leagues'. -
I like it as a concept! The fused helmet is stupid but the rest of it looks very cool! -
My girlfriend made me the most AWESOME Valentine's card, I had to share it with you :p

That race was five days after I was born! :P
