  1. I don't quite know where the best place is to put this but lets say here!

Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of concepts I made of track designs on my iPad. The first one here below is a random go kart track!

Now this one below is the one I'm more proud of! Basically a couple of months ago my girlfriend went for a hot air balloon ride and I was flicking through her photos she took when I saw this.

So I thought, I wonder if I could make this into a street circuit? So here is what I have made below!

I've made the kerbs and run off sponsors similar to what you might see at a Formula E race, and I've tried to make the run off areas realistic, looking at what was already there in the image! In the car park area on the right hand side I've been more creative, and the big field in the middle, I thought that could be transformed into a pit lane/paddock (if it was tarmacked over).

I've also included small service roads for recovery vehicles, and the dark grey areas on the edges of the run off's are tec pro barriers! I've also included sausage kerbs, green astro turf on the edges of kerbs, white lines, etc!

    What do you think?

I know F1 news can be quite slow during the winter break, but Sky are taking it to new levels:

Who would've thought, Vettel dropping round for a visit to the place where he is employed...
Blimin heck, they must be desperate. As you say, he now works there so I'd kinda expect him to go there anyway...

  3. I agree with you Jordie, it's stupid how people can sit on their arse all day doing nothing, out of their own choice, and get loads from benefits and then there's people who work jolly hard and yeah, no way near the same amount of money.

A.) Yes, great bit of kit and is ridiculously underpriced for the amount of time/enjoyment I've gotten from it.
B.) Initially used mostly for Netflix, but expanded out to use for YouTube, streaming downloaded stuff from my tablet to ChromeCast, sharing photos and if the G/F and web pages. Also, when I come home from work, I disconnect my headphones and cast my Music onto the TV. What's great is if you have a HDMI port that supports it, your TV will turn on and go to the correct HDMI channel. Awesome.
C.) Only use with Chromebook, Computer and Android Table/Phones.
Thanks Herby! Yeah I think it does look very good for its price. I might save up some more and buy one!

  5. Does anyone here have a Google Chromecast?

    If you do then
    a) would you recommend buying one?
    b) if so, why would you, and what do you use it most for (web pages, netflix, youtube, photos, etc)
    c) do you use it with an iPhone or iPad and how easy is it to cast from there?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. I might not necessarily have many suggestions but I thought I may as well try to explain how we did our DiRT 3 league a year ago at VRL. Hope you understand.

So the way it worked was we did 8 rallies in a season (did night/rain rallies too). We did one rally every week. Apparently each rally on the game had 8 stages, and as online allowed you to do up to 5 at a time, we split each rally into two sections of 5 stages each, with the longest two stages being repeated to make a total of ten stages per rally. For the final stage we awarded bonus points like the power stage in the WRC.

As there were more than eight drivers, we had multiple lobbies going on and basically we just combined the times and awarded points that way.

I'm not sure whether you can view this link as it's from the VRL forum archive which isn't visible to the public, but hey ho. Anyway, it's the full rules and regulations we used

And you can view the entire forum section for the championship here too if you want, with all the rally threads and reports, etc

  7. First of all, thanks to you guys who have recommended me, and I'm pleased to say I'd be interested in becoming a mod on the forum!

I've been a member here since September 2010 and I've contributed to great discussions pretty much every day in that time! I love this place and I've formed some really good relationships with members and admins, hence why I keep coming back! In my four and a half years here I have never received a forum infraction, warning or ban which I hope shows I know the do's and don'ts of a forum!

I am a massive fan of Codemasters' games, so much so that I started my own racing league in 2012, and I ran that forum of over 250 members for over two years. Combined with my time here, I know exactly how forums work and I would love to moderate these forums!

I would personally recommend @Matthew77258 and @Mike96 as they also ran my racing league's forum with me, so again they know how the forum works, and they've been on this forum for years too. They get on with everyone too!

  8. Well what a race! I said it on Twitter but if that was a Formula 1 race then that would have been classed as a classic I reckon! Incredible excitement in the final few laps.

Real bad luck for Buemi, di Grassi and Heidfeld all to go out from the lead! And yet again, problems for Vergne in the final couple of laps!

This championship is fab, can't wait for the next few races.

I'm really getting into Formula E! This could be a really fantastic championship in a few years should the manufacturers come in and make their own cars.
I read in an issue of autosport that BMW is interested
Yeah I can see them taking part, as they supply the safety car. Also Renault as they're already involved with the cars.
