  1. I live in a place called Wycombe (pronounced 'Wi-kum' for any foreigners), and tbh it's very average.

It's got everything a town has but not much more. However, I like living around here as it has everything I need and it's not too far from London or other good towns. Here's a picture of the relatively new shopping centre below.

I'm just outside Aylesbury, so not far from Wycombe!

I'm completely different from everyone else so far because I live on a farm. It's nice living here, but I hate Aylesbury and the surrounding area :(

Oh right, nice! I think Aylesbury is alright, but I haven't been there loads so I couldn't say much. Beaconsfield is lovely though, that's about 15 minutes from me. Have you ever been to Rogue Racing in Aylesbury?

  2. @PeteTheDuck I've been to Wycombe. My sister went on a gap year to one of the schools there and the rest of us visited for a day in 2009. One story that sticks in my mind is how a couple of people were murdered in the local cemetery (at least I think it was a cemetery)
No way! Yeah that sounds like it could have happened. There are some absolute scumbags who live around here unfortunately.

Found it difficult to believe tbh though when the realisation hit me that Lewis is 30 now. I hope I'm not the only one who feels really old?
I can't believe he's 30 either. I remember watching his first F1 race when he was 22 and I can't believe he's been in F1 for eight years now! I was 10 years old when he first started racing, I don't know where the time has gone.

Also, I do feel old now when I think Max Verstappen is racing this season and he's actually younger than me.

  4. What is this thing you call snow?
Have you ever seen snow with you're own eyes before?

I have a mate who came over from Bahrain in 2013 to get away from all the rubbish that's going on there, and we went to Salzburg in Austria on a school trip. Anyway, it was the first time he had ever seen snow and he loved it! But even our summers are very very cold for him :p

It also has a high street near to that shopping centre and combined there's pretty much every shop you may need, apart from an Apple store and Lego shop :( Here's the high street in some snow.

We have a train station, swimming pool, theatre and to be honest a flippin awesome cinema and bowling place with great restaurants! James Corden is also from here too and he went to the school just around the corner in my village! Also, Wycombe Wanderers are top of League 2 so wahey!

Is next year Marlboro's last with Ferrari?
I'm pretty sure Marlboro aren't with Ferrari anymore. I haven't seen any branding on their car since early 2010.
They are bud :p But they go by Philip Morris now. The cars, which are red and white similar to a pack of Marlboro, aren't allowed to have the cigarette advertising. But Marlboro are free to use the cars as part of their own advertising ;)
Oh really? Well I had absolutely no idea! So basically the only branding and advertising they get is through red and white?! They don't even have the red hat/arrow anywhere on the car.

Yeah, he and Brundle went straight to F1 from British F3. Although not sure if it's really a fair comparison as feeder series were very different back in those days.
Goodness, you're right! Well I think back then F3 was higher up in the feeder series rankings than it is now, perhaps the equivalent to GP3?

  8. Of the five F1 games so far, one has stood out head and shoulders above the others, and that is F1 2010.

I wrote a blog post a few months ago about my perceptions on the direction F1 games and how I feel disappointed at recent editions. In it I praised F1 2010 a lot and I stressed how important player immersion is in games and how F1 2010 achieved that, but it has gone completely in recent editions. F1 2010 may not have been the best for handling or lighting or whatever but it was by far the most enjoyable, and no other game since made me play it day after day.

F1 2010 did that for me, and I feel that was mainly through player immersion such as the paddock menus, interviews and motorhomes. You are made to feel like the driver, which is what is so important in an F1 game! You are yourself in the career mode, so make it a truly personal experience. Allow you to have your own driver number, your own personal helmet design (so often you hear people say how they relate a helmet to a driver), bring back the paddock menus. Make it feel like it's me playing the game as myself, not playing as someone else!

If you could take five minutes to read what I said then I'd really appreciate that, and I hope I made some pertinent comments in my blog post.

  9. So I got F1 2014 for Christmas and got round to trying it out for the first time yesterday!

Honestly I'm not that impressed so far after an hour and a half of playing, and thank goodness there's a seemingly revamped version coming out this year on the new gen consoles!

The handling is better but that shouldn't be a headline feature of the game as that's surely to be expected of a racing game? The driver evaluation system: how can it possibly judge my driving ability on one lap of a track with a couple of chicanes and a long corner, on a new game too? Why not do it on a really challenging circuit with loads of fast corners, such as Suzuka? Also, I changed pretty much all the settings it recommended for me. The scenario mode does seem fun but overall so far it seems like a big DLC for F1 2013! :p

I will play it more so I might change my opinions but I'm not wowed yet.

God she sounds awful, some people are just so unnecessarily rude when it comes to things like this. You are kind and calm and then they snap for no reason and blame you :(

One of my mates did something like that before Christmas, it wound me up to so much. Basically he organised a Christmas concert at a yacht club in London and I found out a couple of weeks before the event that I couldn't make it as I was going away on holiday at about 5am the next day. Anyway, I sent a very calm and collected message of apology and then he just flips for no reason, being ridiculous in his reply, then calling me a 'whiny little sh*t' behind my back! Well first of all I'm a lot taller than him and he was the one doing the whining.

I don't know why I'm still mates with him because any sane person would have left him behind if he said to them what he did to me!
Aww, we all love ya Matt. <3
    n'aww thanks man :p haha
