  1. I think the VSC went alright yesterday, but I don't quite understand why it would be needed for the entire circuit. I know they have a delta lap they have to stick to, but why can't they have a slow zone on the section of the track where the incident has occurred.

The FIA split the lap up into many small sectors, so lets say a car went off at COTA at T15, the cars would go into a slow zone at about T13, and this takes effect when the drivers pass a light board saying something like SZ (Slow Zone), so they would have to stick to a very reduced speed limit, slower than they would under a VSC delta lap. With this instead they are going extremely slowly so there's a further reduced amount of risk to the marshals, etc, and then they can go racing again once they get to a green flag or light board showing green.

  2. That seems weird situation for not scoring constructors points for the third car. But as you say, at least it's good we'll see rookies in those top teams every year, but I guess that means they'd have to then find themselves a permanent drive at that team for the next season because they can't stay there again as a rookie.

  3. F1 is back in the USA at Austin, Texas, and F1 is back after a 3 week break since the last round in Russia. It's the third race to be held at the Circuit of the Americas and since the last race in Sochi, two teams have gone bust, and it's at this point I realise I can't be bothered to write much more of a race preview, so I'll hand it over to you lot.

Why the hell did Codies not give Williams Merc engines?
Seriously? What have they got then, Renault

    That is appaling.
Yep it was found in the database, piss poor really and I really hope they sort it out for console players as they can't change it. You'd think the makers of the offical game would know what engine each team has lol. Mistakes get made, but I'm not sure how they missed that. I talked about it already in this thread but you guys must've missed it. I kinda made the crazy people in GD freak out when I wrote about it    :#
That is very poor. I don't read all the posts here so I must've missed all that chat about it, but yeah, that's very bad for an official F1 game!

  5. True, but many of my friends are in the medium 5 foot range, so it's a tad awkward walking with 3 or 4 other of my friends and having to look down at them to talk to them. :P
That's where most of my friends are too, but they used to be taller than me a couple of years ago so it feels nice to be a fair bit taller than them now :p But my best mate who I've known for years and years has always been taller than me by a good few inches, but now I'm about the same as him.

  6. Yeah, basically in F1 this year the teams had to preset their gear ratios and they use the same ones in every race, so you can't tune the gears on the game this year, as per the rules.

  7. @SamuelTrautman I actually kind of agree with you. I hope we have more manufacturer teams entering the sport in the next few years. As Mercedes have dominated this year it will hopefully prove that a car manufacturer can win in F1.

it's a shame it didn't work out for Toyota, Honda or BMW, but at least Honda are having another crack with McLaren, and if Audi got involved then that would be great.

But at the same time, the small privateer teams have always been a part of F1 and it would be a shame not to have them.

    Hi! I have one question.
Can i chage my username of racenet account?
I see i change password but not username.
    Why?
    Thank you for the attention
You can't change usernames yourself, so what you need to do is drop an Email to custserv@codemasters.com asking them very nicely if they can change it for you.

  9. Went to watch a movie with the family earlier, can't remember what it's called though as it's so flippin long. It's something like Alexander and his awful bad day?

Anyway, it's got Steve Carrell in it and surprisingly I really enjoyed it! Some quite funny moments, and while it was crazy at times, just really enjoyable.

  10. On Saturday I decided to finally order myself a new phone, and it arrived this morning! I bought an iPhone 5c in white and I absolutely love it. It cost me £80 and it's £20 a month for 1GB data with 4G internet, plus unlimited minutes and texts, with EE.

It's so good, just as fast as my iPad and I'm actually posting from it now as it's that good. Doing speed comparisons with my old 3GS, this is honestly over 10x faster. And the 4G internet is crazy fast! So pleased I bought it.

  11. It's such a shame this has happened, now to all three of the newer teams! 18 cars isn't healthy and I can see another team, most likely Sauber, folding quite soon. What a shame, don't know what to say to be honest. It's odd how both Marussia and Caterham have gone into administration within three days of each other though.
