The red bull camera mounts are missing deeming the car illegal in the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCFQ0vIBAZM&list=PLdeld3cKzBQ892xt1j8bJKVsD9G3eLks7

go to 24 seconds not even their illegal camera is there, just nothing.

I believe this has been the case for all the games, but Codemasters take the car design from the first race of the season, so at Australia, that was how the camera mounts were. Changing it takes a lot of work too, which is really unnecessary for this I think.

  2. Does anyone follow the LAD bible here? They shared a video of a Mazda race at Silverstone, and it was incredible. These two cars were side by side and the one on the left, the driver stuck his hand out the window and folded the other guys' mirror in :D And the other guy couldn't obviously reach to fold it back out, and he therefore stuck up his middle finger at him, incredible haha

  3. Yeah, they are. I've been watching World RallyCross this year and it's epic. They all have one joker lap, and it's great because you can use it when you want, and it can really alter your race. If you lead from the front then it's best to save it as you can use the clean air, but if you're in the pack then it may be best to use it immediatey to get that cleaner air. I really hope this is in DiRT 4

  4. I wrote a blog post not long ago about my feelings on the direction of F1 games, and how I think there is a wrong direction being taken. I mentioned about how Codemasters MUST return to the awesome Live the Life menus.

Games are all about player interaction, so please read my blog about this all here...

I find it funny the way people say "Ricciardo is beating Vettel, can you believe it? Ricciardo?" almost as if he is a bad driver.

It is clear Vettel doesn't like the car, but why does Ricciardo "being better" or on the same level (according to some people) have to be a negative thing? Maybe Vettel is the driver his championships show and Ricciardo is just as good? Is it impossible that Ricciardo is actually a very good driver too? If Ricciardo ends up with 5 titles and Vettel ends of 4, how will you all look back on their time together? Because Ricciardo is showing all the same things Vettel has, he is very quick, calm and doesn't make many mistakes.

Any way you look at it, Vettel is still in the top 5 drivers on the grid (Lewis, Alonso, Vettel, Ricciardo and Raikkonen based on current and past form). In my opinion Ricciardo beating Vettel is a mix of bad luck for Vettel, Ricciardo actually being a good driver and the car suiting Ricciardo more.

Like I've said in the past, give it a couple of years and we'll see.

The reason I've been saying stuff like "Ricciardo is beating Vettel, can you believe it? Ricciardo?" is because Sebastian Vettel is a 4 time world champion, and surely someone that good should beat or at least equal his younger and less experienced team mate! The fact Ricciardo has won 3 races to Vettel's 0 this year is awesome, more points, and today he finished over 50 seconds ahead of him. Vettel is being trounced this year.

I respect Vettel a lot, he's a great driver, but it just shows that if Ricciardo was in the same car as Vettel for the last 5 years then maybe Vettel wouldn't have the championships he has.

Can you imagine if we wiped the past behind us. Say both Ricciardo and Vettel joined Red Bull or a lower team as rookies this year, no past to judge them on. We would be sitting here saying "Ricciardo is fantastic, a star of the future, but Vettel doesn't look great for the future". Same story with Alonso and Raikkonen.

  6. Watching on foreign TV I had to make all my own judgements today, and immediately I thought that Lewis gave Rosberg space, and Rosberg was at fault, just. Spanish TV love their Alonso though haha, they cut from the podium interview with Ricciardo to an interview with Alonso :p

So a great win for Ricciardo, what a guy this man is, over 50 seconds ahead of Vettel, stunning. I hope he gets all the rest of the wins this season haha

And Hamilton says that Rosberg deliberately hit him. Wow. That's unbelievable, the biggest story I've seen in F1 for a long time. What can Mercedes do to punish Rosberg though? Ricciardo is ONLY 36 points or something behind Hamilton now, he could be a massive threat if Ricciarso keeps winning too at Abu Dhabi.

I'm gonna run out of popcorn

At least in private lobbies, give us the option/ability to have a "master" (the host) who controls when a race starts. With open lobbies I get it 100%, but for private lobbies (i.e. leagues) it is a real pain when someone presses this button straight away.

It takes 3 seconds to load your set up  from when you select load  so whats the problem that's if you have a set up saved ofcourse ...

Fuel strategy, tyre strategy. The other day I took a good minute and a half working out my tyre strategy before I said I was ready.

well for me its simple  tyre's to start  race are prime fuel is normal and then load set up so about 10 - 15 seconds  job done ...

I was debating whether to go for a 2 or 3 stop, and that's why it took longer. I went for a three in the end as I knew I wouldn't be able to make the tyres last, so I had to spend time changing the tyres, selecting compounds, what lap I wanted them. It took time.

  9. This is a great point. In our league races we ask all drivers to say in the race chat room that they are ready. Only when all the drivers are ready can the race director start the race. Fortunately our drivers are all good and they accept this. If this option could be in custom lobbies then that would be a real benefit to racing leagues.

  10. I really like the look and sound of this so far. The sounds are great for a first game, and it looks good too. Although I think that car was really going too fast for intermediate conditions, like on some of the exits of corners you could just floor the throttle, which I think shouldn't happen.
