Yes, I know what formats we're releasing on. If I didn't by this stage I don't think I'd be here for much longer :)

And no, we can't reveal what formats we're releasing on just yet. That's news. We're not yet in a position to reveal any. In recent weeks we thought we'd have said something by now and were indeed geared up to do so. When we do reveal we'd like it to be as clear to you all as possible.

I really hope that is the case. When GRID Autosport was revealed, Loore was so open with details and I think people really liked that, being able to have the information there. I hope we can have something similar with the new Formula 1 Game.

  2. Going back to the discussion about the old and new versions of the track, I think I prefer the new one. The old one had character and it was cool because it was old school, but I think the change was needed to keep the track with the modern times. I prefer the layout of the new track too.

For this weekend, I'm still expecting Mercedes to be as dominant as usual. Tough to call a winner though.

  3. These changes look cool on my iPad, but something a bit weird, when  started typing then the page slowly scrolled down on my tablet, and now wtf, it's suddenly turned into italics.

take back what  said, and  cannot type the letter 'i' in capitals.

This is so odd, and 've just realised that previous sentence probably doesn't make sense, and probably neither does this one, and now it's gone back to normal text.

Should have gone Android ;) iPad's are for sheep.

No way! My iPad is awesome, it's just this forum's text box which doesn't work with it, and even as I'm typing this message, the font has changed from the normal Arial to Times New Roman. Maybe it's because I've quoted you, but these changes still need tweaking.

EDIT: And it's posted in Arial, which is really odd. And when you press enter on the keyboard, it does a double line which is a tad annoying

  5. I broke my nose 8 years ago (when I was 9). We had the family round for dinner and had the table extensions out, and I was at the end, squashed up against the worktop. My chair had arm rests on it so to get out I had to climb over them. Anyway, I tripped, my head smashed on the kitchen floor, nose broken, blood, A&E visit, anaesthetic, bosh.

  6. Nico has really surprised me this year, I honestly thought Lewis would be walking away with it, but he isn't. Nico has applied the pressure to Lewis and he's buckled in Qualifying especially. His drive in Canada really impressed me too, to stay ahead of the others until the penultimate lap with a crippled car. He also really impressed me in Austria. I thought at the end of lap 1 that Lewis would have him, but it wasn't the case.

However, I still think Lewis will win the championship.

  7. I've wanted a better damage model (as anyone who saw my Stevie Wonder vid will attest to), since F1 2010 and asked for it in the Call for Questions when I visited Codemasters in Birmingham before the launch of F1 2011.

Steve replied with the same things we've been hearing. "The license is restrictive". Fair enough. I would like to see the following though:

    • Proper suspension buckling on contact with the walls or another car.
    • Shards of carbon fibre that stay on the track and cause the odd puncture. Properly modelled.
    • Having to nurse the car with tiny bits of superficial damage.
    • Punctured tires giving up, shredding and causing damage to the bodywork as in real life.
    • Tires occasionally getting torn completely away and rolling.
All of the above happening to the AI cars too.

I suppose a lot of the restrictions will be FIA and a lot will be down to hardware too. Hopefully the new generation consoles will make it possible in the future. The other big problem is testing these kinds of anomalies. Must be very difficult from a programming perspective to deal with the outcomes of crashes/failures.
    That video was amazing!

Expanding on your post, I think the wheel tethers would be great. In crashes now, the wheels don't do flying around, they're still attached to the car by the tethers (look at Raikkonen's crash last weekend).

  8. You just reminded me to uninstall Comic Sans from the forum
Can you control the default forum font here, or is it always gonna be Arial? Just because I think that another font would be easier to read, and I think it looks better too on a forum.

It's Verdana. Do you see what I mean? It's a bit bolder than the current Arial and I think it's also a bit easier to read.
