    Dirt 2.0 Trophy/Achievement issues

I bought a 3rd Audi and Evo 6 last night and neither achievement popped. I’ll try again when I get the next garage rotation. Can now confirm, I now have 3 of each Group A and Group B vehicle and still neither achievement has popped.

    What about this one?

    Windows won't break

These days all rally cars are required to use anti shatter (sticky clear plastic) film on the windows if they are glass. The idea is to keep the glass together in place should the windows smash. Maybe this is where they’re going?

    DiRTy Gossip

This is gonna get me started on the Sierra Cosworth/RS500 debate. It’s bugged me for years that Dirt games have referred to the Cosworth as an RS500.

He’s not the youngest of chaps now either. I remember Brian from Rallycross back in the late 80’s/ early 90’s. He had an immaculate fwd mk4 Escort back then before switching to a 6R4 and sadly rolled it into a ball on what I seem to remember was his first outing with it at Lydden.

    Dirt 2.0 Trophy/Achievement issues

I’m still having issues with the Group B 4WD and Group A car ownership achievements. I currently have 2 of each car in my garage which has progressed the Group A achievement up to 75% complete (not sure which car did that unfortunately). I’m on One X, digital deluxe edition installed to a WD 3GB external HD if that helps to diagnose the issue.

    Let's talk hardcore damage

I’d go back even further than RBR for a hardcore damage model in a rally game. Does anyone remember Mobil 1 Rally Championship? Engines would overheat and misfire. Suspension would collapse. I had numerous occasions where I had clutch and gearbox damage that led to slipping, poor gear changes and eventually losing certain gears altogether. The stages were long enough that the wrong tire choice could see you wearing out tires before you’ve finished the second stage of that run. I can’t remember how many attempts it took me before I finished my first event, let alone won one. It was the challenge of trying to get to the finish that kept me playing over the pile of racing/rally games that I had at the time. These days it seems like most games are made “too easy” to avoid the complaints from people that want everything for nothing. Just spend some time reading the Forza forums and you’ll see the endless comments from people that want everything unlocked and handed to them without any input because “that’s what they paid for” Make rallying challenging again.

I play on a One X with the game installed to an external HD and an Elite controller that is more often than not plugged in with the charging cable. After a few hours of almost daily play, I have never had any sound issues. This is why bugs like this are so difficult for devs to fix. They don’t always affect everyone and they are hard to replicate so finding the source of the issue isn’t a simple task.

DiRT Rally 2.0 - Share your Screenshots!

A couple of shots from the Group B RWD daily today. Love this 037 and Germany. At the time I finished the stage I was 4th Xbox time and 20th cross platform with a 6:17.613 despite a spin at the right handed after the chicanes. Taken on Xbox One X.
  10. Same. Reloaded the game multiple times throughout today and not seen any. Xbox One X if that helps

    Dirt 2.0 Trophy/Achievement issues

My ‘Upgraded’ achievement finally popped after upgrading my 8th car and that doesn’t include the Fulvia or S1600 Corsa. Still have the progress on the the other 2 achievements showing 4/5 Group B cars owned and 2/4 Group A cars owned. This is after repeated attempts at selling and repurchasing multiple cars.
  12. Further to my post above, one of the biggest differences I had with regards to controlling the steering ‘snap’ that you get with a controller came after I adjusted the advanced controller settings. Personal preference is going to vary when it comes to this but I’ve gone with the following and it has made a world of difference with RWD cars and the Group B cars. Steering Sensitivity - 90 Steering Linearity - 3 Steering Deadzone - 3 (I’m using a newish controller so you may want this a little higher if you have an older controller with some play in the sticks) With this current controller setup I was 25th overall (after ignoring the negative time in 1st place) and 2nd Xbox on yesterday’s H2 RWD in New Zealand. That was in the rain and on a stage that I usually have major issues with (clipping the low banks and getting punctures), especially when pushing.
  13. Is there a specific reason you have your buttons set as they are other than for preference? Personally I find it extremely difficult to have anything more than the brakes (LT) and steering (LS) on the left of the controller due to a lack of dexterity. Because of this I have my gears mapped to the A (up) and X (down) buttons where I can easily rock my thumb back and forth over them. But without doubt you should have the throttle mapped to an analogue input to get the smoothest control. As for the adjustable settings for steering in the options menu, they are generally set too high for a controller but I’m not able to remember where I’ve set mine without seeing the screen in front of me.
  14. No you’re not, but I’d be even more excited if there were some ‘proper’ tracks to go with them. These current single line kart tracks with their gimmicky joker laps are nothing on the tracks I grew up at.

Season 2 Info, will there be a season 3

A proper Brands, not the **** fantasy joker lap rubbish that Project Cars 2 tried to pass off. If they wanted/had to add a joker lap then why not use the layout from the mid 90’s that went round Clearways? I wouldn’t mind seeing Croft, Cadwell and Swindon added too.

    What's Wrong With DR 2.0? - CARS

Sure, the gravel spec wheels/tyres are narrower than the tarmac equivalents, but not to the point where if you lost the rear arch structure the wheels still wouldn’t extend beyond the shell.

    What's Wrong With DR 2.0? - CARS

It occurred to me today that the rear track on the 6R4 looks way too narrow. It’s as if they have used the measurements for a standard Metro because the wheels are so far inwards of the wheel arch.

    Dirt 2.0 Trophy/Achievement issues

I’m still having problems with the achievements for owning all the Group B 4WD and Group A cars. I own all 5 Group B cars, but the progress shows 80% (and yes, I have bought an additional Audi S1 too). For the Group A achievement, I have all 4 cars but the progress shows 50%. So even without the “you’ve already got the Subaru” issue, it still hasn’t counted another car either.

I think some of you are looking at those BGM sport things and getting a bit ahead of reality, specifically about the Aston in the background. To me the situation looks like this; The location was Turweston aerodrome near Silverstone. BGM Sport are based in Brackley, a matter of minutes down the road. Aston Martin Racing are based in Banbury, also just down the road and regularly use Turweston as a shakedown venue. It seems that it was just coincidence that both were there at the same time. Maybe making use of a runway booking together.
