Maybe Windows 10 decides to auto update and the data plan is gone. I can not really see a reason for the Internet requirement. If it's to verify times, then generate a token after each career event, send it to the server and if the connection can not be stablished store it to send it later or just don't save it remotely. For me the problem is that you depend on Codemasters maintening their server in the future to play that part of the game. It's fine for some people to think we have great connections. But depending on the country or area that's not true. Also some people travels and maybe they don't have an Internet connection during the weekend. Probably must people can connect to the Internet somehow if they need to. But why are the adding that level of frustration if you don't have a connection? I never play online because I just want to play for 45 minutes or an hour and then do something else. And yes it's cool saying, then don't buy the game, do tethering, etc, but they should think about their customers a bit more. And because this thread is about gossip maybe the Internet requirement is to find the next Colin and offer that person a WRC.

I don't think he was disrespectful and I don't think it was about her. He just got annoyed about the fact of the no offline career. These things need to be clear before launch so people can be mindful about what they are buying. As you said its a game, but costs money. But anyway, I hope at least people will enjoy it besides these mistakes (which I hope they fix after our feedback).

We all love @xtinamcgrath and I agree we should always be respectful. She just do her job, but at the end of the day if the face of Codemasters.

#NoOfflineNoBuy If in a couple of years you shut down the severs there is no option to play My Team. This is looking like NBA 2k17+. Please add payments with real money so we can improve the cars a bit more or get a new haircut for the driver. As a programmer it must be super annoying having to code all those things when you just want people to enjoy the game. Who makes these decisions?

I don't expect an answer to be honest. We will be able to ask someone without a free copy tomorrow, so honest opinions will be landing.
-
With Dirt 4 I bought the Day one edition because of that. And I still had to download 26gb to be able to play for the first time.
-
@xtinamcgrath can you confirm this? Whats the reason for it?
-
Just "Brum, brum!" (tm). If I would have a chance to make any business decission the strategy would be really different.

Starbucks in the UK is not far from 5€ 😂

I think Codemasters confirmed that the information will be available after launch. I'm waiting to for all that to be confirmed, priced and explained. So a bit of patience worth it, you will for sure buy it at a fair price too. I think they are pushing the hype as much as they can so more people pay full price blindness, hence the lack of information. I really hope they have not turn the game into pay-to-win (pay-to-play-online in this case).

When are prices going to be announced? #NoPriceNoBuy

Will the option to disable the Infinity Mirror Rooms (tm) mode added to season 2?
-
Some options were disabled like the terrain deformation and new cars. My testing was mainly about the new countries (Germany, Montecarlo and Sweden). I'm glad to know the slider is finally making it into the game. When is the DLC 2 going to be announced. I'm planning to buy the game by summer. #CompleteGameYesBuy

Question. How does the difficulty level work? It would be nice having a slider from 0 to 120 or something like Project Cars. It feels great adapting the rivals to you and progressing bit by bit.

Yay! I have been testing the new DLC content for the last 3 years, I can confirm that the stages feel great. During the beta there was a bug in one of the German stages, where the voice says "1 left, 1 left" when it should be "1 right, 1right" at the beginning of the stage if the Spanish co-driver is selected. I hope they have had time to fix it will all the new developments. Also thanks Codemasters for releasing the DLC so quickly. It almost feels like you could have included it with the base game, I love how you tease as all, even for a few days. Any chance of realising a DLC with the music from Dirt Rally 1?
-
For me de problem are how they plan the DLCs. Fair enough they are a business and they want as much money as they can get from people playing their games, but selling a game with little content and teasing with extra content that they could include in the base game feels like cheating. I don't like the DLC stuff but if you are going to do it add value to the client, don't just steal money. There are games like Frostpunk were they support the game for a year or more with free DLCs, they truly support their game. For me that's saying, thanks customer, we want you with us. The other way around is more like saying, we want your money. At the end of the day they should want as many people as possible playing their game, so people can find someone when you join an online rally. And from there in a year's time offer an expansion, 6 more rallies or whatever but not 3 months later. And of course always telling the customer what they are going to get in advance, as if I'm paying money I know what I'm going to get.

Thanks!

Hey, where is the content from the previous forum? All my reviews have been deleted, including the one talking about the first DLC features. #ForumCensorshipNoBuy

That's not a NASA computer. My pc is 3+ years old and meets all that beside CPU. Those CPU were launched on Q4 2017 and Q1 2018. I know most people have great machines, but I'm just curious if a lower spec computer will run it fine too.

Recommended: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system OS: 64bit versions of Windows® 7, Windows® 8, Windows® 10 Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5 8600K Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: AMD RX Vega 56 or NVIDIA GTX 1070 DirectX: Version 11 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 50 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX® Compatible soundcardWhy is a NASA computer recommended? Graphics looks kind of similar to Dirt 4, plus it runs on consoles? Is this a port? Dirt Rally was awesome because it was a PC game in first place.

Ouch! The bug is back, it has translated 2 stages into 4 :D. So 2 long stages per location + 2 long reversed + 4 sections of each long stage + 4 sections reversed of each long stage = 12 stages. Thanks for the confirmation. Any news about the DLC strategy? It would be nice to know price and what's included before buying the game. Think that the ones waiting for this to buy will buy the game cheaper later on if nothing is said. Any clarifications?

You must be referring to CodingRacer. Yea I think @codingracer will be starting the 'codemasters soon to announce wrc 9' discord. I will be beta testing the forum in the meanwhile. The current one has a known issue with dates (6 months gets translated to 2 weeks as Christina reported, 2019 to 2018 as reported by myself and so on). I hope this will be fixed. PD: I've just edited the comment to avoid the issue.

Why does the road look like a mirror?

Remember the company made a big step ahead on the 1st of June. That brought more money but less flexibility too, so things has change slightly. It's not so easy when you have to delivery some expectations (money wise). Let's assume game times will be altered in the first few years, even if the work is almost there.

1pm this Monday or the one after, trust me, DiRT Legends will be announced then. Steady on @RallyDriven, you are starting to sound a bit like @CodingRacer there. WRC 2019 will be announced really soon. I'm sure it will be ready for the start of next season, following the structure of F1 2018. Consistency is key.
