And... here they are. So Codemasters customers are angry and Codemaster cheaters happy as always. I don't know what kind of verification the sever does (it would be helpful if they could explain it so we can make recommendations). But the always online does not add any extra layer of security apart from hanging a server even more (hence the connection problems).

Is it possible to play online without AI? If there are 5 cars they get split into different races with AI in them, so you end up playing just with AI most of the time? Same on rally stages?

Remove Always Online for the Career!

+10000 to this. Some times those guys don't care about the product, they just want to see the numbers going up. Some of them will be there just for a few years, so... Make as much money as you can, and then... It's not my problem if customers are unhappy. To make great products all up the chain must be aware of what they want to achieve as a group.

Remove Always Online for the Career!

It's always the same story. Tones of DRM, protections, servers, internet, etc, and then there is a random guy who can easily find a work around these things. Then they will say the game is not selling well because they maybe didn't enough promotion or people is not interested in rally. It will be funny to see how long it takes for the first 1 second stage to happen.

Does anyone know where I can read the Terms and Conditions? What's the information they send/collect? I'm just curious as people is saying it tries to connect all the time.

Remove Always Online for the Career!

I've a question. If Racenet goes down as sometimes does, does it mean no #NoConnectionNoCareer?

All games in gog.com don't force you to have a connection. But maybe that's an edge case because that the company philoshy. But think a out Project Cars, Dirt Rally, Dirt 4, etc. If you want to use specific o line modes then you need a connection, those were you play with more people. But a career mode with online requirement breaks the game. Again I add the NBA 2K example, were you can not even see career videos if you don't have a connection.

Maybe Windows 10 decides to auto update and the data plan is gone. I can not really see a reason for the Internet requirement. If it's to verify times, then generate a token after each career event, send it to the server and if the connection can not be stablished store it to send it later or just don't save it remotely. For me the problem is that you depend on Codemasters maintening their server in the future to play that part of the game. It's fine for some people to think we have great connections. But depending on the country or area that's not true. Also some people travels and maybe they don't have an Internet connection during the weekend. Probably must people can connect to the Internet somehow if they need to. But why are the adding that level of frustration if you don't have a connection? I never play online because I just want to play for 45 minutes or an hour and then do something else. And yes it's cool saying, then don't buy the game, do tethering, etc, but they should think about their customers a bit more. And because this thread is about gossip maybe the Internet requirement is to find the next Colin and offer that person a WRC.

I don't think he was disrespectful and I don't think it was about her. He just got annoyed about the fact of the no offline career. These things need to be clear before launch so people can be mindful about what they are buying. As you said its a game, but costs money. But anyway, I hope at least people will enjoy it besides these mistakes (which I hope they fix after our feedback).

We all love @xtinamcgrath and I agree we should always be respectful. She just do her job, but at the end of the day if the face of Codemasters.

#NoOfflineNoBuy If in a couple of years you shut down the severs there is no option to play My Team. This is looking like NBA 2k17+. Please add payments with real money so we can improve the cars a bit more or get a new haircut for the driver. As a programmer it must be super annoying having to code all those things when you just want people to enjoy the game. Who makes these decisions?

I don't expect an answer to be honest. We will be able to ask someone without a free copy tomorrow, so honest opinions will be landing.

With Dirt 4 I bought the Day one edition because of that. And I still had to download 26gb to be able to play for the first time.

I think Codemasters confirmed that the information will be available after launch. I'm waiting to for all that to be confirmed, priced and explained. So a bit of patience worth it, you will for sure buy it at a fair price too. I think they are pushing the hype as much as they can so more people pay full price blindness, hence the lack of information. I really hope they have not turn the game into pay-to-win (pay-to-play-online in this case).

    Paid DLC pricing

How much would the paid DLC cost? We know the paid DLC will be split into 2 seasons over 6 months (3 each), but what will be the price of season 1 and season 2? And all together? Codemasters states it will be cheaper buying the Deluxe edition but how much? The price of the game has started going down from some suppliers so it would be nice knowing that as a consumer. Can anyone confirm if the game will be supported beyond paid DLCs? Im talking in regards of bug fixing or small improvements. The game looks like one I will enjoy but there are many things to clarify to consumers yet.

    Paid DLC pricing

Each of the two paid DLCs includes everything on the season, but instead of giving you everything in one go, it's spread over 3 months. My understanding is that you can not buy individual things inside of that paid DLC (season). I guess you pay £15 x 2 and you get the full game (equivalent to the Deluxe edition), and I guess after that, unless things change a lot, Dirt Rally 3.0 in late 2020. There is a SHOP link inside the game, but no explanation about that as far as I know.

    Paid DLC pricing

Seeing the price difference between normal and deluxe editions the official price should be around £25-£30? So maybe £15 per season?

  22. IIf so the adapted content should be included for free. I would not bet in a third season. I don't think Codemasters will change how they usually work. I think the season stuff is a way of getting more revenue for the same work. You don't plan things like extra season in a "If the games sells well" mode. This is even more true after the financial change last year. Christina is doing a great work, but because they try to create artificial hype with every single comment and doing promises they will not deliver unless a bag of money comes in return (VR case). And I'm not trolling, I just give my opinion. They are free as a company in following their desired business model.

Will the option to disable the Infinity Mirror Rooms (tm) mode added to season 2?

    DLC means what exactly?

Hello Joao, I'm on the same boat. If I had to go back to my Amstrad times it would be like getting a new tape for an extra level. In this case the first season would be like buying an extra tape for the one you already have.
