  5. My bad. He is right in saying that Codies tried to create the full length stages but were unable to do so due to the limitations of the EGO engine which is not only getting rather old now, but wasn't originally created purely for racing games. As I said in my last post, it was discussed in great detail before work began on DR1 and during the Early Access phase of it's release on the old forums. Unfortunately we can't give you links to those conversations as the old forums no longer exist.
  6. He's right, on both counts. It was discussed plenty of times on the old forum, before and during DR 1 Early Access Col de Turini https://www.rally-maps.com/Rallye-Antibes-Côte-d-Azur-2018/La-Bollène-Col-du-Turini-Peira-Cava Ouninpohja https://www.rally-maps.com/Rally-Finland-2017/Ouninpohja

Total cost of Dirt Rally 2.0

What? People said the game cost more than it would have done in 2000. I used the Bank of Englands inflation calculator to show that isn't true. That's not a theory and in no way related to why sales figures are down. You're the one trying to connect price and sale numbers, not me. I wasn't comparing RX stages with SS stages, I was explaining why there Codies use 2 long stages split up, instead of several different small stages. As I've said before, RX was added to the game at the request of forum members.

What has your link got to do with the cost of the game/rate of inflation? Punters = Paying Customers. Console Warrior = Twisting of the term Keyboard Warrior. No. The deluxe edition of the game, which as you can see if you go back and look at my post, is what I used in the price comparison, is actually cheaper than the cost of a game from 2000 and has seasons 1+2 dlc included in the price. So, in your "apples for apples" comparison, it has 10 rally locations, which is more than any of the CMR's and also includes 11 RX stages. The cost of the base game (6 rally locations + 9 RX locations) is £45, which in terms of 2000 money is roughly £28.50 Also, the reason why the DiRT Rally games use the single stage/broken up formula is because we (the forum members) asked Codies to give us stages that were as long as possible instead of several short stages.

Total cost of Dirt Rally 2.0

The cost of inflation in the UK according to the Bank of England https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation/inflation-calculator £40 in 2000 = £66.14 in 2018 £75 in 2005 (Cost of Forza VIP) = £110 £75 in 2009 (Cost of COD MW2 VIP)= £98.83 £65 IN 2019 (DiRT Rally 2.0 Deluxe Edition)

Rear View Mirror - what is this option for?

Some changes require a restart to take effect. Try turning the mirror off and then restart the game.
  12. SkiddyMcCrash

Is this worth going back to?

It depends on you. There's still no dashcam, no FOV options and has the same FFB it had when you stopped. So, if reasons 1-3 are the main reasons you stopped playing, then probably not. The only way to answer 4 is to try the Welsh stages yourself and see if it feels like DR1 and 5 really requires the magic from reason 4 because you won't put the hours in if you're not feeling the love for the game. Is it worth going back to just for Wales? Yes. There's no point in not playing your favourite stages in the game if you can.

It's not just Martini or WRC, the issue could be with any of the sponsors on the car as Codies have to get permission from every one.

That's not how the Gossip Thread works. Codies post a pic with no description, we drive ourselves crazy trying to work out what it is. Bingo

    The Codemasters Way

i don't think you know what Constructive Criticism means. https://www.definitions.net/definition/CONSTRUCTIVE+CRITICISM "Constructive criticism Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one. In collaborative work, this kind of criticism is often a valuable tool in raising and maintaining performance standards. Because of the overuse of negative, nagging criticism, some people become defensive even when receiving constructive criticism given in a spirit of good will. Constructive criticism is more likely to be accepted if the criticism is focused on the recipient's work or behavior. That is, personality issues must be avoided as much as is possible. Critical thinking can help identify relevant issues to focus on. Especially sensitive individuals may adopt a passive, defeated attitude if they view a situation as personal, pervasive, or permanent. Others may adopt an aggressive response. In an online forum lacking face-to-face contact, constructive criticism can be easily misinterpreted and online exchanges often spiral out of control, becoming flamewars. Effective interpersonal communication skills can be helpful to assess the recipient's frame of mind. During initial exchanges or when encountering defensive individuals, effective criticism calls for softer language and inclusion of positive comments. When the recipient strongly identifies with contentious areas, non-offensive criticism becomes challenging." https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/careers/soft-skills/constructive-feedback/ "Making Feedback Constructive It is important to be able to differentiate between constructive feedback and destructive feedback. Destructive feedback points at faults and is a direct attack on the individual. In destructive feedback, no practical advice or supportive feedback is given. Examples of destructive feedback include: “You’re wrong.” “That is not how you do things around here.” “You have no idea what you are doing.” So, as you can see, your post is not constructive criticism. As for your prediction of being attacked, that has more to do with the manner of your post, not the content of it. https://www.dummies.com/business/human-resources/employee-relations/giving-constructive-feedback/ "Manner Manner is how you say the constructive feedback. As you may know, how you say something often carries more weight than what you have to say — manner is an important element when giving feedback." If you want people yto take you seriously I would read the quotes I posted very carefully, take the advice onboard and come back with your real account and actually use constructive feedback/criticism instead of posting while angry and then insulting anyone who disagrees with you (why am I getting a strong sense of Deja Vu?)

    Pacenote editor

Firstly, sorry for my first reply, it wasn't meant the way it was taken, my apologies. Secondly, while a 5 left and 5 right will have the same angle of turn your assumption about a 5 left being the same as a 5 right on a reversed corner is incorrect. The corner may be reversed but the entry point for the corner in one direction isn't necessarily the exit point for the other direction, meaning a different angle on the steering wheel.

Then your idea of a 5 left is wrong, the pacenotes are chosen based on a pre defined system known as the 1-6 system which is used by many pro rally drivers. http://blog.codemasters.com/dirt/04/co-driver-calls-explained/

The reason DiRT4 had a limited number of different pieces for stages was due to the limitations of consoles.

    The DiRT Roadbook

That is the reason. And we all agree with you, there are plenty of forum members who don't own VR that want it in the game and Codies have said they are looking into it. Mission accomplished. Like you said, Steam has less than a quarter of headsets, yet Codies have said they working on an Occulus version. If you can convince the other 4.2 million PSVR owners to tell Sony that you want VR for DR 2.0 I'm pretty sure you'd get it.
