Track Limits in DiRT World Series

Absolutely not, most cuts are less than 3s. VERY few cuts give you anything close to 10s. Combined some stages might have 20s in cuts but that is very rare. You would not climb from top 100 to top 10 if the cuts were removed, don't fool yourself. Edit: If you must know, the cuts that Micky took in Kopina were worth about 2 seconds in total. (I know this for SURE, I have analyzed it with RDA telemetry and I was competing)

Track Limits in DiRT World Series

The rules were made clear on the forum at least, in the linked thread, that cutting is allowed. The hope is that this will be fixed for the next time the eSports round is held. And what difference does that *really* make though. Unless you can at least be first in one or first in a set overall, you don't have all that much to brag about. MAYBE if you come in 2nd or 3rd. But anyway, the point is as I stated above, cutting is 100% permitted at the moment.
  3. Customers can't check it as it's not out yet.
  4. Good news - PJ has confirmed that the analog HB is happening!

    Tarmac Physics and FFB

Some good points in this thread, I think there is a bit too much grip in some gravel situations as well. (could also be overall grip)

Track Limits in DiRT World Series

I know, but they had weeks (really months) of warning, I listed most of the cuts a long time ago and reported them. (and other people did similar things here and there)

That is what you said, but maybe you meant something else. I know the dev process quite well which is why I am telling you this is fixable, it's also not extremely difficult to patch up a single stage. It's obviously more work to patch up all the places in all locations, however, this should have been part of QA/Dev from day 1 of the content projects.

100% disagree, this is completely fixable.

Track Limits in DiRT World Series

Yeah it might work like that @Mike Dee, I didn't really try optimizing the #7 cut myself... not my cup of tea even in the rare chance if it means I don't qualify ONLY due to it.

    Cut 8: allowed?

Track Limits in DiRT World Series

Yeah I dont mind cut 5 , cut 6 nor the wides I showed. But we need this clarified. (I do mind cut 7 a lot)

Track Limits in DiRT World Series

Yeah the situation honestly needs to be clarified ASAP, because people are putting in time practicing/memorizing the stages already.

Track Limits in DiRT World Series

So a few more questions, some cuts, some wides: Wide 1: 4 wheels off road allowed? Wide 2: 4 wheels off road allowed? Cut 5: 4 wheels off road allowed? Cut 6: allowed? Cut 7: allowed? Also if a cut is not allowed, are you imposing a 10s/5s time penalty or DQing a run?

DiRT Rally 2.0 - Force Feedback

I understand your point on all Sims having the aid (maybe this is true, who has really objectively assessed all sims, including rFactor, and iRacing for this effect). But Codemasters should be allowed to provide a normal feedback system with an option for extras. And if they don't provide the extra , they do kind of have a right even if some % of the buyers will complain about it. It will be their decision if they opt for more pure realism. It's the same as if they didn't provide a low damage option, just like some sims don't provide this option because it's not realistic. Edit: I don't believe that you feel a single wheel locking in your steering in anything but a laterally loaded up car. Sorry.

DiRT Rally 2.0 - Force Feedback

That's ok, but if you are asking for an aid (and I don't necessarily disagree), it should be something that doesn't elicit rage if the company doesn't add it. Certainly at minimum an aid should not be used to pollute a realistic function for people who only require the realistic function (and for example might have motion rigs or don't need the effect). As for the mondeo, mmm, yeah sure you do, I think you feel it through G forces and your ears. And there are different types of "loss of grip".

DiRT Rally 2.0 - Force Feedback

I bet you $100 if I put you in a car without ABS, and blocked off your hearing, had you lock up , you couldn't tell me which tyre locked up. Also, you probably couldn't even tell if you had locked up or not especially in a straight line. What you're requesting is an aid , not a realism feature. In terms of both front tyres slipping, the effect exists especially on ice, there might be some very fine changes needed to affect wheel forces when you lock both fronts in conditions other than ice, but not much.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Okay, Kit cars (+1), Finland, Greece... this game now has everything I realistically hoped for (minus some outstanding bug fixes 😄 )
  20. Damn, that's not a big difference from reality. I suggest reporting it in the bug thread though for sure.
  21. So what are you guys saying, that even if you move the seat back in the car, the steering wheel looks larger than say 34cm in an R2 or R5? And you are SURE about this? (I don't have a VR set to check here)
  22. #yesVRyesBuy time has come 😉 Nice to see openVR support!

DiRT Rally 2.0 - Force Feedback

@PJTierney Mostly agree with what Caer said, and to clarify when you lock up in reality on tarmac, you might feel a bit less force on the wheel depending on how much grip you lose and how much the front lifts up. You won't feel anything on the rear unless it starts to come around and do funny things. Tarmac smoothness might be accurate for Spain, probably not 100% accurate for DE if you see how rough that tarmac is IRL. But I would like to add a very critical point to this all, whatever stuff is added, if it's NOT a real 1:1 representation but additional aid/feedback, PLEASE put it on a new option/slider.

    Pacenote editor

Yeah a Pacenote Editor (really a recce mode even) would be an amazing improvement to the Dirt Rally series. The user made Dirty Pacenote app can work, but it's a LOT of work to import the samples/calls you need and then to mark out every stage and corner. if it was in the game, you could edit the pre made notes and make 2-5 corrections for a stage instead of redoing the whole thing (if you wanted).
