GRID Season 2 Coming February 12 - Track Day Supercars
VirtuaIceMan replied to ChrisGrovesMCM's topic in General Discussion
It means you can potentially buy the DLC cars and not be able to use them, unless you've also acquired enough money in-game to buy them. Bit odd. -
GRID Season 2 Coming February 12 - Track Day Supercars
VirtuaIceMan replied to ChrisGrovesMCM's topic in General Discussion
I've not played GRID much yet, but I dipped into the Season 2 content to take a look, then realised as I haven't played the Career mode I can't drive any of the new cars, as they all need buying. I face the same issue with the official livery Renault R26. Ultimately I'd like to do some videos of the game, but don't have time to play the career mode for hours. Why isn't there a Quick Race mode like DIRT, or is there one that I've overlooked? Even in Forza Motorsport 7 you can do single races with any car on loan (you just don't get any progress points). -
Colin McRae DiRT 1 - how to fix the game if it crashes when starting a race
VirtuaIceMan posted a topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
This one's all over the net, just making sure it's in here too! If you have a modern i7 quad core, it has 4 real cores and 4 virtual hyperthread ones. This makes DiRT 1 think there's 8 cores so it tries to use different code to make the game work, however it crashes! So you just need to set it to only use 4 cores instead, which only involves changing one number in an xml file, luckily! Do this as follows: 1. Open the folder where you installed DiRT, then open the "system" folder 2. Edit hardware_settings_restrictions.xml in Notepad3. Search for the line containing workerMap8Core.xml and change the 8 to 4, i.e. set it to workerMap4Core.xml4. You may not be able to save the file, if so, right-click it and turn off Read Only -
Remember the hillclimb Celica on the cover? It got a bit broken:

What features do we want to see in a future DIRT Rally game?

Am I allowed to suggest wrestling the WRC license away from the current holders? -
So season 3+4 is full price during the Steam sale...
VirtuaIceMan replied to Shocchiz's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
RIght, it's all sorted out now! Season 3+4 is now just £9.99 in UK, with Year 1 £19.99 (up from £14.99 in sale). So those of you (like me) waiting for a discount on Season 3+4 alone, now's the time! Or wait for a sale if you're that way inclined! -
Engine-wise, maybe they could transition to Slightly Mad Studio's Madness engine, perhaps. OT: new procedurally-generated budget-looking rally game coming soon: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1245630/Virage_Rally/

Why rain effect has been downgraded in cockpit view ?
VirtuaIceMan replied to Tr3voRR's topic in General Discussion
The second one doesn't show as much of the side/top of the windscreen, and it's harder to compare the droplets with a complex city background instead of Brands Hatch. Not saying it's not changed, just that you might want to compare the same car/track/conditions before/after. -
Well, you can have a sort of livery on another car, but it *doesn't look good*...

Is it trying to roll the Focus as many times as Colin did? 😄 -

To be fair, that site is just the community trying to identify cars themselves; I think the Impreza had a different paint job in the US one that looked like a more recent car. I doubt it was the 2000 model as the game came out before then! And both have the 5 spoke wheels -

GTA V/online has had longer support. Okay it's not strictly a racing game, bit there's rally style stuff in it and F1 style open wheeler races with pitstops coming soon 😲 -

In the blog "and the battles against said SUBARUs later on in his Ford Focus RS Rally 2001." ...please can we get a Martini-ish style skin for the Focus? Even like the one in Colin McRae Rally remake/mobile version? -

And if I buy it, owning season 1+2 already, do I get a second license of season 1+2 to share? -

@PJTierney how come pricing is like this, i.e. not dropping price of 3+4 alone? Even though I can get it cheaper now I guess I'll end up with a second spare license for season 1+2? Not sure how DLC works in this instance -

VirtuaIceMan replied to Shocchiz's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
SEASON 3+4 ARE ON SALE, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! ...although due to the slightly weird way the DLC works you'll need to buy the whole Year 1 (season 1+2+3+4) for £14.99, even if you have 1+2, as 3+4 alone is still £24.99 (UK prices)! -
